This must surely warrant a follow-up CM article in tomorrow's 'Daily Express' (so apt for a tortoise.....) . I mean, Manuela does start with the same letter and it also involved "a door left open."

Thank goodness the story had a happy ending and the reptile hadn't become a riptile.......

What an absolutely miserable 30 years he must have had. I hope he's got the memory of a goldfish and that he's enjoying his new surroundings and being able to eat leaves and drink water. I find it absolutely appalling how some animals are treated.
