It's not the first time these two have been linked with the case.

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

Their targets for sex crimes have been male afaik. So unless they had changed their awful predilection for boys while in the Algarve it's unlikely that they would target a female.

They are simply disgusting.
Re: SUN Headline
Both gay, only ever known to have targeted boys so obviously prime suspects. Already interviewed in connection with the Madeleine enquiry by British police long ago who were clearly totally corrupt, incompetent, lazy and only interested in fitting up the parents because they decided that these two had nothing whatever to do with it.PeterMac wrote:http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/5211612/Madeleine-McCann-cops-probe-two-Brit-paedo-killers-who-travelled-to-Spain.html

Correct. They were convicted of murdering a woman who threatened to expose them.mahlersghost wrote:Their targets for sex crimes have been male afaik. So unless they had changed their awful predilection for boys while in the Algarve it's unlikely that they would target a female.
http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/paedophiles-charles-oneill-william-lauchlan-1950949
So like all the others, they are NOTHING to do with the case. Nothing.TWO paedophiles found guilty of murdering a woman who threatened to report them for abusing a young boy have failed in the latest stage of their bid to have their convictions overturned on appeal.
Charles O'Neill and William Lauchlan were jailed for life at the High Court in Glasgow three years ago.
O'Neill, 50, was locked up for at least 30 years while Lauchlan, 36, was ordered to serve a minimum of 26 years for murdering Allison McGarrigle and dumping her body at sea in 1997.
They took their fight against the convictions to the UK Supreme Court in London, where they argued points over their right to a fair trial under human rights laws.
But their claim that there was an undue delay in prosecuting the case and allegation of apparent bias on the part of the trial judge were rejected by five justices of the UK's highest court today.
The appeal will now be sent back to the High Court in Scotland for final consideration, in light of the Supreme Court's ruling.
Lauchlan and O'Neill were convicted of strangling mother-of-three Mrs McGarrigle, 39, at Waterside Street in Largs, Ayrshire, on June 21, 1997, before disposing of her body.
At the end of their trial, it was disclosed that the serial sex offenders had been convicted weeks earlier at the same court of sexually abusing boys aged six and 14.
Judge Lord Pentland, who heard both trials, told the men: "It is clear that you are both evil, determined, manipulative and predatory paedophiles of the worst sort."
But why let the facts get in the way of a good story in the Sun ? Their reporters cleary have shoe size IQs and their readers need pictures to help them understand the words
Re: SUN Headline
If I didn't know better, I would think these efits had been made up to look like these guys, who went to Spain in 2006 before returning to the UK in the summer of 2007
But that's just ridiculous ....

In the Mail article above it says that these two were travelling around Europe as cleaners, so it looks like that's SY's cleaners identified as well then.

The Daily Mail has a story today on the convicted paedophile pair. You won't be able to use the link because, for some unknown reason, it comes out with a load of drivel added to it but the story will be easy to find on the Mail website.

Re: SUN Headline
I am very puzzled now.
These two look remarkably like the efits the police released. I understand these efits have probably come from the work the private investigators did. Since these two have been eliminated why on earth did they release the pictures?
Talk about a wild goose chase.
I long suspected the PI's they hired just went around collecting names of sex offenders that could have been in Portugal or Spain at the time.

Re: SUN Headline
It's an incredible coincidence that the two efits (by mysterious persons unknown) turned out to be the spitting image of two very dodgy guys who just happened to be in Spain for a while just before jetting back to the UK shortly after M disappeared
Only one Smithman, yet the two efits look like both of these guys (one of whom can't have been there when the Smith sighting took place) - how unbelievable is that?
Now if anyone would like to post a reason why on earth these two characters would want to take M, feel free, but I'm not expecting many suggestions

The Sun sparks outrage with Maddie McCann X Factor joke
The Sun newspaper has sparked outrage after making a joke about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in relation to an X Factor contestant. The paper tweeted on Saturday night that Tamera Foster, who has been in the headlines recently over a shoplifting scandal, had not hindered her chances of winning the show, and would only suffer if she admitted to "stealing Maddie".
More here including the screenshot already posted of the tweet, and some replies......

Re: SUN Headline
You could be right there. These efits had not been published prior to Crimewatch but had, supposedly, been hidden away in the files of the McCanns' PI - but what if you're correct and they WERE staged for the program. Mr Smith denies any involvement in the efits. S Yard could make them look like anyone they want to, including 2 jailbird paedophiles who would deny the crime - well they would say that wouldn't they?Okeydokey wrote:Ludicrous is the word you're looking for!StraightThinking wrote:If I didn't know better, I would think these efits had been made up to look like these guys, who went to Spain in 2006 before returning to the UK in the summer of 2007
