With the last photo (swimming pool) no longer the last photo; the fact that the tennis ball photo cannot have been taken on the 3rd; the timeline changed; and JT sighting discredited, drip, drip, building up the pressure, and each item directly contradicting repeated statements from  McCs  and the bewk, and the e-fit looking strangely familiar, and the crediting of the Smith sighting... am more optimistic. Imagine the scenes at Rothley Towers this evening...
Does anyone know if there was tennis on the resort being played on the evening of the 3rd?

I'm inclined to believe that there was and the tennis photo really is the last photo.

Either SY have worked it all out or someone has changed their statement IMO.
I can't see any sense in this belief.
If it were the last photo, legitimately on the 3rd, then K and G would have been able to produce it, as proof of Madeleine being alive and well, instead of having to go back to Rothley and photo-shopping a pretendy pool picture which would cast doubt on their story, as it has done.
Goncalo Amaral and the rest of the PJ team would have been able to quote the tennis court ball collecting with happy family mummy and daddy, instead of saying that the last credible witness was a nanny at 5.30.
Kate would not have told some story in her book about rushing back for camera and the other two friends wouldn't have made their errors in claiming that they had taken the photo.
The tennis picture would have 'helped' not 'hindered' the McCs and lead in nicely to an abduction with focus on 'happy family' not suspect parents.

This is not the time to criticise parenting or policing, it is time to pause and consider the developments in the case

Oh dear me, Mr Gamble. I think you'll find we'll do as we damn well please, considering extremely poor parenting is a key element of the whole sorry debacle. And furthermore, Mr Gamble, you might consider winding your neck in - "he doth protest too much" comes to mind. The beady eye is on you too.

Nevada14 have merged your thread The Wind is changing with this one, as we have rather a lot of threads being opened, all more or less on the same thing, makes it difficult to read and keep up.

I think so.  Did Gerry not have some rather unusual reading material in PdL, including a CEOP manual?  Wonder where he got those...

And now of course Ernie Allen, Gamble's American counterpart has been called out for fudging child abduction figures, one has to ask if Gamble desperately wanted this alleged abduction to be his centre piece and reason for continued funding.  All moot now as CEOP was merged into another department and Gamble stomped off in a huff.

He's trying to excuse his decision to send a CEOP team to Portugal within 48 hours or so of Maddie's disappearance. Martin Brunt once blogged that Gamble's men where on the ground in PdL BEFORE British police got there!
