Brian Kennedy expands in the U.S. - From double glazing to sunrooms

For anyone new to the case, unfamiliar with the contribution of Brian Kennedy to the search for missing Madeleine McCann, he:

1. Set up a private investigation HQ in Knutsford, Cheshire in September 2007, close to his home, the magnificent Swettenham Hall, and close to his Latium business empire, headquartered in nearby Wilmslow

2. Directed his in-house lawyer, Edward Smethurst, to 'phone Dr Gerald McCann on 12 September 2007 ('madeleine', by Dr Kate McCann, hardback version, page 268) to offer help in the search for Madeleine. Smethurst immediately became the McCanns' 'co-ordinating lawyer' and later became a Director of Madeleine's Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned. Smethurst had been holidaying in Praia da Luz every year since 1999

3. Appointed controversial Spanish detective agency Metodo 3 to search for Madeleine. Currently several Metodo 3 staff, including its boss, Francisco Marco, are facing prosecution for wide-scale illegal taping of private conversations in Spain

4. Worked closely with Metodo 3 private investigator Antonio Jiminez Raso, who served 4 years in prison 2008-2012 on remand for suspected theft, corruption and misfeasance in public office as a result of his connections to a vicious 27-strong criminal drug-dealing gang

5. Also worked closely with Metodo 3 investigator Julian Peribanez (and was seen on TV with him and his son Patrick Kennedy in Praia da Luz in late 2007). This year Peribanez was also remanded in jail and has since admitted the crime of illegally taping private conversations of political leaders in Catalonia

6. In 2008 appointed Kevin Halligen of 'Oakley International' to look for Madeleine, the McCanns' spokesman describing the company at the time as 'the big boys of international private detection'. Later that year he went on the run but was arrested in October 2009 and locked up first in Belmarsh prison and then in a U.S. jail for 4 years 2009-2013, and is now convicted of a £1.5 million fraud

7. Employed 'forensic artist' Melissa Little to sketch the man (or maybe woman) said to have been seen by Jane Tanner at around 9.15pm on Thursday 3 May near the McCanns' holiday apartment. Later he employed her to sketch a suspicious man known variously as 'Cooperman', 'George Harrison man' or 'Monsterman', whose sinister-looking face received wall-to-wall media coverage in late January 2008

8. Appointed, at the end of 2008, 'crack detectives' Dave Edgar and retired Constable and pigeon-fancier Arthur Cowley, living in a cottage high up on Halkyn Mountain, to search for Madeleine. At a press conference in August 2009, Edgar said that Jane Tanner might have seen a woman, not a man, on 3 May 2007. The following month Edgar told the press that he was 'convinced' that Madeleine was being held in 'a prison lair' close to Praia da Luz. This followed days after an American lady abducted in childhood had been found alive in a 'prison lair' in the U.S.

Despite these prodigious efforts, no-one knows what happened to Madeleine McCann, and the combined efforts of the Portuguese Police, Leicestershire Police, the McCanns' series of private investigators and a Scotland Yard investigation that's been running for 2 years and 3 months and has cost over £5 million have not been able to give the world's citizens even one usable fact about who might have taken her and where she might have been taken.

That's quite an impressive CV he's got there.

His family must be so proud of him.
