I don't know if this has been posted, but this is the latest from Blacksmith's site:

The Interrupted Investigation

For those who wish to go on reading JB on the affair there is a new blog, The Interrupted Investigation.
It can be found here: http://aninspectorcallsyou.blogspot.co.uk/

He has created a new blog
He is stil referring to himself as 'We'
He believes the original investigation should be re-opened by the Portuguese
He believes that the SY review will NOT actually solve this case

that's pretty much how I read it

He had 3 aims a) for the interrupted investigation to be completed
b) for GA to be treated fairly by the press
c) for GA to win his libel case

He has given up on b

He thought the review wouldn't solve the case but when it turned into an investigation he presumed the McCanns and their Tapas friends would be re interviewed and made to do a reconstruction. His opinion is that will solve the case. When it was stated they weren't going to be he realised the case in his opinion will not be solved by SY, that why he apologised to the McCanns.

However he still has aims a and c

If he thinks the case will not be resolved with the SY investigation, why did he apologise? What am I missing?

I read it as that when the SY review first turned into an investigation he presumed they would end up being charged as they would be re interviewed and in his opinion if they are all interviewed regarding the discrepancies the truth will come to light. He always said if it wasn't proved he would apologise to them and as they arè not going to be interviewed he is presuming they are not going to be charged hence the apology.

I know what I'm trying to say just don't think I'm doing a very good job of it

He was convinced that anyone in his right mind would in a review or reinvestigation start where the PJ left off: with reinterviewing the main players and until the case in Portugal was closed, the main suspects.

That would lead to solving the case.

Since SY clearly has no intention of even looking at the facts that made the conning couple arguidos and go from there, he is convinced tha case cannot be solved.

Hm, seems more people have a pessimistic view like me on the SY "exercise.

He never apologised to SteelMagnolia after wishing her death....nor to Tony during his trial either after attacking him. But will to the mccanns. This is when someones true colours comes out whether you see it or not

Someone's true colour's coming out, is an interesting phrase.

I cannot for a moment understand why someone could,  possibly, forgive the abductor of their child, yet be so threatening and unforgiving in the libel court's, towards people who have an alternative opinion about what may have happened..

It just doesn't add up.

BB keeps moving goal post. So I would say he's also in the dark and haven't a clue which way the Yard detectives are going.

For the moment it seems he's taking Redwood at face value just like anyone.

Thanks Sally66 I get what you are saying. I think I would have waited until the SY had concluded their investigation before I announced anything though.smilie

I can, and it does. It is clear that TB and Amaral got too close to the truth of what happened, and that this truth in some way implicated the Parents in something.
For that reason both had to be stopped, lest they influence public opinion.
In fact the very fact of their trying to stop both in such a public and unChristian way has focussed attention to a far greater extent on the "discrepancies" and lies in the official versions of the truth.
Poetic justice, Phyrric victory, and so on spring to mind.

The silence from Amaral speaks volumes.

It could mean things are going well behind the scene and he's waiting patiently. I'm confident he will be vindicated.

Thank's PeterMac,

I will try to remain thinking positively, that the real truth can come out.

"Every action has an equal and opposite reaction" and "You reap what you sow" also spring to mind.

To me, those seem to be Universal Law's. Some people seem to think that those Law's don't apply to them.

Let's see.

For someone who says he doesn't go over old ground, this is very old ground.
How about he put some time into writing his exact thoughts on the forensics?

This writer's style reminds me of another style I've read recently but I can't put my finger on it exactly except to say it is verbose and designed to cause confusion. The style of this writer also switches from condescending, pompous and at times downright childish and insulting to helpful, analytical and positively friendly.

I think the many styles of Blacksmith are just that - they're deliberate styles. I think that the many sermons of Blacksmith are always written by one person Margaret.

Just my opinion of course.

I believe Blacksmith is wrong in saying that in 50 years time..etc.  He has overlooked the fact that under Portuguese law an archived (shelved) investigation can be made public much earlier than that. I believe it's twenty years. Which would take us to July 2028?

Much as I have enjoyed Blacksmith in the past, he/they (might be multiple personality disorder) now remind me more of a celebrity with yet another farewell concert.
