Chilling, also upsetting, reading. Poor Madeleine.
It would upset me if I thought it was anything but fantasy.

Which brings me back to the little video in the bus where Gerry says: "I'm not here to amuse myself".
I distinctly remember the first time I saw that video some 7 years ago and I only heard something like : "F*ck off" ... nothing else

Clarence Mitchell: "I cannot and will not discuss Operation Grange." (confirmed in the latest Mirror article).
Standard denial from a spin doctor to be honest - everything they spin comes with the condition "you didn't hear it from me, and I'll deny it if you write that it came from me."

But if he cannot discuss it, why does it matter whether he will or not? It's not in his power to do so.
And that being the case, why even bother reporting what he had to say? They might as well have asked Robbie Savage for an opinion.

It's so that the statement can go on public record, while (in my opinion) still spinning anonymously.

while this pic was taken- police was talking of searching for maddie's body- ending 7 years of 'hope' for #mccann s..

Re: Twitter (News and important information only please)
May not be a popular comment, I greatly respect PM and I appreciate much of the humour and ways of breaking the seriousness of much of all your (forum's) great efforts in the search/research for the truth, but this is below the belt propaganda unless I've misunderstood (IMO).
Guilty or not of whatever, there is a time to be sorrowful and a need for happiness as time goes by. There has been daily changes in the case throughout, quite often, and on any one of them, we could catch them out, laughing or smiling at something. Guilty or not, I do NOT think they are, as implied, laughing at what you say they are, PM. I’m thinking of the Dingo lady case where the suspect did not conform to media expectations. Just IMO. No disrespect to all positive efforts. Fair fight please, even if the opposition don’t fight fair.
I recall laughing (with another close relative about an incident relating to the life of te person we loved) at a close relative's funeral. If caught on camera and if I was implicated in something rotten, the press would have had a field day. We or the press usually) tend to prefer nasty pics of nasty folk. Good job their eyes aren't closer together. Would tick all the boxes then.
Thanks.

Re: Twitter (News and important information only please)
Nobody would say that grieving / bereaved people should never smile again. Of course they do, life has to go on.
With the McCanns though, it's the combination of being caught falling about laughing at inappropriate times together with all the other dodgy elements of this case that throws doubt upon them.

Do we still have a link somewhere to the BBC video, where they didn't realise that camera was still running, when they burst into laughter after the interview? And it was broadcast in its entirety ...

IMO it was all the future plannings and £££s they were thinking of! Sounds horrible but that's what I think. No Fate Worse Than De'Ath wrote:Nobody would say that grieving / bereaved people should never smile again. Of course they do, life has to go on.

Re: Twitter (News and important information only please)
Soapy - We have probably all laughed at a wake - it is normal to have affectionate jokes about the deceased and there is often relief at the end of suffering which brings emotions to the fore - laughter as well.as tears. It is very different when parents who claim a paedo phile has taken their tiny daughter...yet within days are grinning, smirking, looking almost triumphant. As for Gerry caught laughing his head off on the balcony - that is a man delighting in his crime.

Re: Twitter (News and important information only please)
Unfortunately this clip seems to have been removed from the BBC archives.
It was an interview on 2nd May 2008 where the McCanns were talking about the next day's anniversary, how they didn't know how they would get though it.
Then, in the blink of an eye, thinking they are off camera, they jump up from their chairs looking as if they've won the lottery.
If I can find it later, I'll add a link but I suspect it's been whooshed.

Re: Twitter (News and important information only please)
We are talking about the eve of the 1st anniversary in 2008, JFM, just in case there's any confusion.
The still shot that has been posted gives a good idea of what happened. I always wondered what it was they were saying when they jumped up. A lady on Facebook who was learning how to lip read thought it was something like being glad to get up from these uncomfortable chairs.
Nothing compromising but the blink of an eye change from distraught grieving parents to what we see in the picture is suspicious in my opinion, suggesting that they were putting on an act.

It's frightening that this was the day before the 1st anniversary, I would've been distraught! No Fate Worse Than De'Ath wrote:We are talking about the eve of the 1st anniversary in 2008, JFM, just in case there's any confusion.
