Tomorrow's details:
McCanns v Bennett
HQ 09 D 05196
COURT 14
Mr Justice Tugendhat -
10.30am tomorrow, Tuesday 5 February
NOTES:
1. It's always best to arrive in good time, to go through security, find the Court (it's big, labyrinthine building and many people get lost) and of course the loo (be careful not to spend an exceptionally long time on the loo)
2. You are permitted to enter the Court room late. On entering, you should make a simple bow or curtsy to the judge and then quietly find a seat.
Once again, so many thanks for all the messages, 'pm's, e-mails, 'phone calls and texts, etc. see all of you there tomorrow Deo Volente (getting into practice for all the Latin legal points that will crop up tomorrow.
Here's one that you might not have come across before:
Res ipsa clametis
I'll let one of our classical scholars explain that one!

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

FABULOUS NEWS that it's Mr. Justice Tugendhat.
What an absolute relief.
If any fairness can be expected it will be with him.
Tony, we stand with you, beside you, behind you, at your shoulder, in your pocket, and with all our hearts and spirits.
Fingers, toes, knees, (eyes ?) everything crossed.
Please feel our strength, it is enormous and our faith unshakable.

Loud sighs of relief all round about the judge.
I think we can now allow ourselves to be more positive than we were before.

It must be some comfort to know you are appearing before a Judge who knows your case. Indeed, he may have arranged it that way.
You have complete faith in Justice Tugendhat and by this article in The Guardian, so do others. Links in the article.

RES IPSA CLAMETIS....Tony, I've never been one to give up on a challenge, but this really got me scrabbling back
some 50 years.
I can't seem to find it as a legal term anywhere, so am making a big (once educated ?) guess.
All I can work out is 'you will all see the matter for what it is' ...if that is anywhere near to correct, could this mean a sort of ‘che sera, sera’, that good old Doris Day song from so far back.
Well, whether this is anywhere in the right ball park or not, here's the music to cheer us all up, just like the news has, that Mr. Justice Tugendhat will be the judge.

This does seem to be a bit of a barrel scrape by Team McCann. Even if they win, it’s not going to change the facts, and people will still comment along the lines that Tony has done. This whole matter is beyond belief. Good luck, Tony.

When in tricky situations and facing a tense meeting, I always used to whisper a couple of Bob Dylan lines to myself:
'What looks large from a distance,
Close up ain't never that big".
Do yourself proud tomorrow.

Good to know Tony has a McKenzie friend, plus others to take notes, so not entirely alone.

Re: COURT 14 - Mr Justice Tugendhat - 10.30am tomorrow, Tuesday 5 February
Good luck Mr. Bennett. I am sure that all your preparation will be the match of Adrienne Page, after all she's only been given a few days to prepare and you have been preparing for months now. That preparation and all the advice you have recieved will be the clinching factor.
Can I ask have you notified all the press about the hearing and the timings? Or has someone else done that, because I really feel that the press should be there in force to hear your case and to see what is being done against free speech in this country. I hope Ian Hislop will be there to record this terrible injustice being done.
Only truth matters and tomorrow I hope we will see that in the court.
ps Can I be cheeky and ask what the rule is about using the loos there? Is there a time limit? Or are they very smelly or something?
