I have always been sure that TM would have seeked assurances, probably legally that any SY investigation would not re-open the original PJ line of enquiries.

I am sure a legal team could sugar coat it in a way that it would cause further distress to the parents to look at that again.

I bet they already had written assurance well before the investigation was commissioned.

Well, I have to say that the arguments have somewhat changed my mind, and taking info at face value it looks really serious. The mccanns being only one small, but obvious visible manifestation of the Evil Hidden Money Grubbing Octopus, and like the mccanns, it will not go away of its own accord. It will never have enough. even after the last drop of blood has been drained. Money truly is the root of all evil, follow its slithering trail right to the top, and you will find its head. If it looks like S#!t, smells like Sh#!t it is Sh#!t, it is Sh#!t!

Imagine, an abduction theory means more fabricated sightings, bewk deal, serialization, maybe even broker movie deal for mccanns etc.
Plenty of profit in it for NI and of course the adrenalin high of having power over the top man at No. 10.

Another point to bear in mind regarding the review.

Many of us assumed that the Prime Minister ordered the review and that the McCanns hadn't expected it to happen and certainly didn't want it to happen. That they had to be seen publicly to ask for it but didn't want it. The subsequent public comments from them being regarded by us as saving face and biding their time to the inevitable.

Now we find out that there is a strong possibility that not only did they want it but getting it was part of the leverage Rebeckah Brooks used to get the book deal and she allegedly called in a favour with her old mate Davy Wavy. So the request was initially private, between the McCanns and Brooks. So they wanted it. The McCanns are not fools whatever we would like to think. They would not have asked for a review - especially in such a string-pulling manner - unless they knew it would give them the result they wanted.

The fact that Brooks called in a favour in order to get the review - and that the review was wanted by the McCanns - is a game changer and a further pointer to me that it's a whitewash.

I think we all trusted our police force too much. We do have an excellent clear up rate for serious crimes in the UK but too many high profile ones go unchallenged and not well investigated.

TM and their hard line pro supporters saw this as a golden opportunity. None of them seemed nervous and when it is concluded they will have the backing and results of the investigation to wipe the floor with anyone who disagree's.

I read on another forum that CM said the fund was surviving on income from compensation payouts from libel actions, I had a feeling there are many more to come. Just think of the possibilities for them when 3 years and 10 million of SY time and money concludes they are the saints of the universe. They will sue anybody who has so much as looked at them in the wrong way in the past. It wont be long before they only have to put a case forward to the court and you will lose your house, savings and have to kiss their butts.
