bet this story was run past mitchell first,cant have the papers saying anything bad about the mccanns. after reading yesterday about leveston and storeys had to be vetted by mitchell first, you can bet your bottom dollar the papers wont help get justice for Madeleine Beth Mccann.

"Never given evidence before" - a simply lie. He had done so, in public, at the Select Committee
"Arguido means only person of interest" - dodgy answer since Katey had said the Murat was a 'suspect' in her book

A spade is a garden implement to these people, except when it doesn't suit (no pun intended) and it is a playing card! Isn't it funny how in the case of Murat, he is a suspect because of his arguido status? And yet, Kate and Gerry, also arguido's, are merely 'persons of interest'! Well, you can't have it both ways (although you try it time and time again). Is Murat a 'person of interest', like yourselves, OR were you 'suspects' like Murat? Its not either/or. By definition it can't be!
Honestly, the guff these papers print is beneath contempt. One just hopes that the papers are just being cautious, avoiding legal actions by Team McCann and maybe avoiding prejudicing a future trial... Let's hope they are storing it all up for the day the handcuffs finally come out. I live in cautious hope!

It's no longer on the main page and not at all in the hard copy of the paper. I checked the foreign edition.
Just checked the comments, heavily censured since I don't believe that all the negative commentators of the past articles have suddenly disappeared.
Quite a lot of 'hoping she is with people who take care of her' - well, that would be an improvement for Maddie at any rate.

I think this is TM pulling the marionette's strings one more time.
a) it's not front page or hard copy
b) it's nothing new
c) the comments have been heavily censored imo. just the usual one or two about leaving them alone.

your right petermac,

so im thinking any story in any newspaper about how wonderfull the mccanns are is put there by mitchell(so to speak) so every story is too be taken woth a huge pinch of salt.what a sad day for the paper industry, and what a sad day for Madeleine

Yes, I think they're now on an economy drive (it's hard times all around), in fairness they've launched an audio reconstruction of the "abudction" statements complete with bundleman to cut costs. I suppose it's understandable, no need for the public to get caught up with an expensive reconstruction with visual aids. It's crimewatch style so it must be right.

But I'm perfectly sure the PJ's were prepared to do a real life one and for free too.
