From anaesthetist to GP

Post by tigger on 08.09.11 7:40

In early May 2007, Kate was described as an anaesthetist . When did this change to GP?
Was this dropped by because it was too close to the bone? Surely it is a very well paid and highly skilled profession?

Administering narcotic drugs when you are an expert in the field to anyone other than a patient would be illegal.
But being an expert, one might think that suspecting the twins were drugged on 3/5/07, would have resulted in taking them to the nearest hospital immediately.

At a fairly early stage, Gerry became a consultant, not a surgeon, Kate became a GP. But when exactly did these two professions disappear from the press reports? And does she state in the bewk that she specialised in anaesthesia.

The only thing I can provide you with is what she writes in her book (so I cant say if its reliable or not)

First she trained to be an anaestesist but because she wanted to have a child and because she and Gerry would see eachother next to never if they both worked as specialists she decided to become a GP (page 25 and following)

As it was probably Rachel M who contacted Sky and the Telegraph, I just wonder if it was she or someone else who gave their professions as resp. surgeon and anaesthetist. In view of the issue of Calpol etc. I wondered if this was changed by Clarrie?
I just wondered whether she has any qualifications in that field at all. It's quite possible to work part time as an anaesthetist and heaps better pay than a locum GP.
