The Wilkins

Came across an interesting article researching the Wilkins. They just happened to be ex producers for Crimewatch who played an active part in the Find Madeleine campaign. They both specialise in crimewatch reconstructions ...mmmmm. Also Bridget was working on a book in 2010 about a London Police Inspector who exposed British Sex Trafficking in the 1880s

Also interesting info re the phone call to the diplomat GM made on 3rd May (Alistair Clark)....the ever elusive Mr Clark. Was he friends with Nick Cook (ex crimewatch presenter)?

http://www.thesargeants.net/dblog/stampa.asp?articolo=305

Before reading the article below be warned.......Bridget says and I quote "........ recalled admiring them for leaving their children to sleep in their apartment as they ate at a tapas restaurant nearby" I am still recovering from the shock of this statement so cannot comment!

She takes a dig at Murat too and the McCanns friends do seem to be ganging up on him for some reason....but not the McCanns themselves!

Gerry McCanns key alibi, film director Jes Wilkins, and his connection to Donal MacIntyre

This was posted by 'Bob' on MCF in Oct 2009

I'm starting to getting a little more suspiscious of JW as time goes on.

Ok, just to look at it from a completely "fresh" angle:

Just supposing something happened to Maddie which didn't directly involve her parents....

On the 2nd May, JW & O'D had joined the T9 in the Tapas bar for dinner. They discussed childcare. O'D had received a phone call. She said her baby, who was in the kiddies club, had woken up. She left to go and collect him, then came back. Before they'd finished eating, JW & BO'D both left the group again and went back to the kiddies club to collect their daughter. Jes carried her the 10 minute walk back to their apt wrapped in a blanket.

The following evening, Thu, O'D says they stayed in. She's also told us that she could see the Tapas bar from her apt. She could hear the T9 from her balcony. She knew the T9 booked tables there for dinner each night.

JW/BO'D could have had the opportunity. They knew the T9 had left their kids sleeping in their apartments. They knew the McCann's apartment was the one on the corner. O'D commented on how exposed it was, how people could see in.

O'D's article tells us more than at first read. Or even 2nd or 3rd read. She describes how they DIDN'T get involved in the searches. How they watched from their balcony that night as people went around with their flashlights, searching.

The following morning, whilst the rest of the resort is up in arms, helicopters flying around, media arriving, police, what were JW and O'D doing? Lying by the pool.

They walked past the press, sniffer dogs, police to get to the shops. But they didn't get involved. They didn't help. They just watched.

From Wilkens statement 7th May, talking about his encounter with Gerry.

“I met him near the stairs of a ground floor. There was a gate leading up to some stairs. I was pretty certain that he had left the apartment. We spoke for a few minutes. He said you're on walking duty. I said I was staying in and pros and cons and what to do with the children.

He said that as he was staying two weeks XXXXX he was staying one night' (unreadable)
I don't remember anyone else walking around with a child. The conversation lasted for about three (3) to five (5) minutes”.

This is really interresting.

Jeremy Wilkins is a film producer with Zig Zag Productions since 2001, his girlfriend Bridget O'Donnel is also a producer for BBC Crimewatch, bot Jeremy and Bridget specialise in reenactments of crimes. Another freind and collegue, who also work's for the BBC, is reporter Donnel McIntyre, "Britain's Toughest Towns" , and also has a vid on Youtube about the abduction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ymopgjN12Y

try Google 'Jeremy Wilkins' change to Google Images, and it's the first google image that you see, Jeremy wearing a green and black striped jumper holding his daughter the fake Madeleine in a red top and denim skirt facing away from the camera. The photo was taken shortly after his return to the UK from Praia de Luz, and there's no mistaking that Jeremy used his daughter for many shot's and videos of Madeleine!

Had a look at the mccann files and you can see the original written statement. The sentence is at the end of page 501. It's not too unreadable - it says "He said if he was staying two weeks he may stay in one night".

How long were the McCanns staying?

Post by Marian on 02.09.11 10:06

That's an interesting comment from Jeremy Wilkins' statement. However, the word after "he said that" is a strange mixture of "as" and "if" which gives two different interpretations. "As he was staying for 2 weeks" means that he definitely was while "if he was staying for 2 weeks" means that he hadn't decided. I presume that it is possible to book for an extra week especially in low season.

his statements also seem to change and become more embellished over time...

on 4 May he gives a statement to the police (translated by Robert Murat) . the statement says that he contacted the police to relay suspicious "rasta" man that he saw in the tapas bar area on the third between 8.30 and 9.00 pm. Nothing in this statement about seeing Gerry or Jane Tanner.

Given that he says he was woken up at 1.30 in the morning of 4th and asked if he saw anything, you wonder why, if he was suspicious about rasta man, he didn't mention it then but waited until the next day to mention it.

His next statement is 7 May after he returned home. This statement comes about from a request by Amaral to leicester police to question Wilkins further. Presumably because Gerry has given a statement saying he talked with Wilkins on 3rd.

So the police get a statement .
This time he says he left his apartment between 8.15 and 8.30pm, walked around the complex, went to the tapas bar, saw GM (no time given) then went back to his apartment. He says he was woken up at 1am by the resort manager and Matt telling him madeleine was gone and asking if he'd seen anything. He just says "you're joking".
Now, given that 1am on 4th is BEFORE giving the statement on 4th about "rasta man", why wouldn't he mention seeing him at this point, given that it was suspicious enough to have mentioned him the next day?

Also, in giving this statement 3 days after his 4 may statement, why not include rasta man?
He doesn't at this point mention seeing Jane Tanner on his way down to the tapas bar either...

Next statement is 31 October 2007 which is pretty much the same as the 7 May statement.

Next statement is 8 April 2008 and this is more comprehensive:
-8.30 pm left apartment
- on way down to tapas bar looked over at Mccann's block and saw Jane Tanner in front of the block wearing purple top.
- went down to tapas bar, saw rasta man
- back up towards his apartment, saw Gerry between 8.45 and 9.15pm

on 10 May 2009 the Daily Express also have a report of an elderly british woman who has lived in PDL for 30 years and has a villa near the ocean club. She doesn't want to give her name but she was driving to the supermarket just before it closed at 8pm. She saw a woman opposite the apartments, long dark hair, plum top. Seemed to be waiting, didn't want to be seen. She says she asked a relative to tell the police what she had seen.

Makes you wonder who this who this lady was and why she wanted to remain anonymous - Jennifer Murat perhaps because in her statement she says she went to the supermarket about 8pm.. Can't see any statements in the police files around this though.

Given Wilkins says he saw Jane and this lady says she saw someone of the same description, was Jane hanging around the apartments earlier. Maybe she was having a fag on the way to the tapas who knows but should be asked. Her phone records say she was in sms contact with another mobile at 8.30 on this night (and again to same number at 904 the next morning) ..

Lots of question but not many answers at this stage..

All the statements and the daily express article are in the link below.

I can't help wondering if Jeremy Wilkins knew the McCann party before the fateful holiday. He certainly has the same knack of fine tuning his statements. I see that the typed version goes for "if" he (Gerry) was staying two weeks rather than "as"; I agree that it's very hard to tell what was intended from the written version.

Reminds me awfully of...

Post by tigger on 02.09.11 14:28

the Kennedy assasination. James Files, in prison for life for other offences, has had various interviews regarding his role in the Kennedy assassination.
I'm inclined to believe him, he is just too factual and it pretty well fits all the available data. He's got nothing to lose (actually, it makes him safer as other people who didn't talk, tended to die rather unexpectedly) and gets no money for it.

Back to PdL, James Files said about Dallas that day that 'everybody was there' all sorts of Mafia dons, hitmen and CIA operatives. This was confirmed by an ex CIA man. Files said: 'we just didn't look at each other or acknowledge each other, we just did the job'. The Kennedy assassination is a good parallel IMO. A lot of interests overlapped, a lot of people knew something but not everything - Governor Connelly said' They're going to kill us all' - just one word too much. He must have known too. These slips of the tongue are familiar to us from the McC's.

Equally, PdL seems to have been heaving with useful people. Don't forget 2007, the BIG financial crisis starting up. Look at all the people who got on the bandwagon, there was so much money in it for so many and if not, at least publicity, the next best thing.

Yes, you're right, I'm not liking JW too much and B O'D a lot less, a wannabee writer jumping on a bandwagon. Her article was so sugary, she's never been asked to repeat it.

I don't think JW was doing anything other than being there. Did he make a documentary? Did he make money out of it, even sideways?
Still, I think Gerry had a big carrot for him in the way of publicity. It would be useful to see how his career was doing at the time. Like the nannies and so many others, they all had an eye for the main chance.

I wonder if the W's wanted to take part in the 'games' the T9 played?

It is a remarkable coincidence that an expert in crime reconstruction happened to be there at that time, and as a witness too! You couldn't make it up! All so called witnesses are from within the group and not independent.

Makes me wonder if Maddie died around 30th April, they were flown in to help with their expertise to stage the abduction story from one of the main powers behind this scam. The bookings forms could easily have been manipulated no problem, they had a few days to do this

On the left of this photo is block 4 where Bridget O'Donnell and Jeremy Wilkens were staying. They were in G4-O.

I have just read the infamous O'Donnell article where she says she was on the 4th floor. As you can see, that was effectively the penthouse accommodation on the top floor.

"Ours was on the fourth floor, overlooking a family and toddler pool, opposite a restaurant and bar called the Tapas".

She also goes on to moan about balcony heights. !!!

If you look on the OC daily lists, G4-O was a T1, which is a one bed apartment.

How did she manage to get the penthouse suite ?

I thought Jeremy Wilkins was walking his child around when he bumped into GM at 9.15pm?

If they had a one bedroom apartment where did they all sleep?

This is an interesting new revelation.

According to the MW booking form, they asked for a 2 bed apartment.

So how did they end up in G4-O, which is a T1 a 1 bed apartment ??

Perhaps this is another demonstration of a room upgrade and this top floor apartment was big enough for an extra bed for their 3 year old and a cot?

It is common to have sofas in the living area made up as beds so a one bed apartment may sleep four adults. (One sofa can have two single beds within it)

But their original reservation asks for two seperate bedrooms, so why did they settle for a 1 bedroom? It must have had great sea views and I bet it was much quieter.

One thing's for sure, being a key witness in the McCann case hasn't done Jes Wilkin's career any harm. He now holds the accocalde of being Executive Producer of Channel Four's highest- rating documentary series of all time - My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.

Executive producer of hit television series My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, Jes Wilkins, has told BBC Breakfast he believes the show is challenging many people's prejudice against the gypsy community.

Mr Wilkins was joined by Billy Welch, a Romany gypsy soon to
be featured on the show, who described the prejudice he regularly
encounters.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, which documents the weddings of
Irish travellers and Romany gypsies in the UK, is on at 2100 GMT on
Tuesdays on Channel 4.
Source (inc video of Jes Wilkins) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/12392194

Lies! It had exactly the opposite affect (as planned). The show drew out prejudice in people that never even knew they held a predjudice towards this group! And all in time for the battle over Dale Farm. Yeah, great timing that. The gypsies were foolish for ever agreeing to be filmed imo, they were manipulated and exploited for political purposes.
Jes Wilkins has just joined the long list of establishment puppets involved in this case (in my eyes).

Going back to that article written by Bridget O'donnell she says:

"There was a warm camaraderie among the parents, a shared happy
weariness and deadpan banter. Our children made friends in the kiddie club and
at the drop-off, we would joke about the fact that there were 10 blonde
three-year-old girls in the group
. They were bound to boss around the
two boys."

"Earlier that day there had been tennis lessons for the children, with
some of the parents watching proudly as their girls ran across the court
chasing tennis balls. They took photos. Madeleine must have been there, but I
couldn't distinguish her from the others. They all looked the same - all
blonde, all pink and pretty.
"

Ten? Ten! Ten blonde three year olds - all looking the same, all pink and pretty? Crikey! that must have been very confusing.

Stewie you have hit Gold here and I think we have all overlooked it. I am a great believer that the very first statements are where the truth lies & the story they were planning, their 2nd and RI's are to mop up any inconsistencies they have been caught out with. Jez Wilkins says on the 4th May "He told us that yesterday, between 8.30 and 9pm, while he was in the "TAPAS" restaurant.......This person did not stay very long. Their behaviour was somewhat strange and they seemed to be rather nervous"......3 days later in his PJ statement on 7th May he says "I was pushing the pram around the complex and went to the toilet near the bar. I could not see inside the restaurant. As I got the baby to sleep, I was on my way back to the apartment. I came out at the top road."

On the 4th he says he was 'in' the restaurant and on the 7th he says he could 'not see inside' the restaurant. On the 4th he says he saw a Rasta type suspicious man 'in' the restaurant who did not stay long, he would have had to been hanging around inside the restaurant to observe this which he could't do if only went to the toilet and moved on.

Stewie what you say here is abolsutely bang on. Wilkins makes no mention of meeting gerry, jane tanner on the 4th whereas in his 7th statement he makes no mention of the Rasta man!!! Then...on april 2008 he now saw rasta man again and he also saw jane tanner too!!!!

Wow!!

SY are you going to investigate this and another glaring contradiction of their statements? or is it more important to bash the PJ in following up a lead that a French couple heard a rumour

Wilkins says that when he spotted Gerry Mccann he was walking (Gerry that is). He also states that they had a conversation at the gate at the bottom of the stairs at the back end of flat 5a. Was Gerry walking towards the gate from the Tapas Bar or towards the gate from the top of the road? If it was from the latter, that would prove he did indeed check on the kids using the front door that night as said in bis first statement. If he had entered via the patio doors he would have left through them too instead of going the long way around, no? Unless he wanted to lock the front door which does not make sense is the back door was left open.
