It's just their usual dribbles.

Come on even a dim wit knows 5 days is plenty to phone a consular in India to go out there to check or simply to pick up the phone to verify the story with Leh Police and very quickly the veracity of the story will be known.

No need to wait 5 days later until ban over Pat's book break news to provide the UK press with this hoax story just to deflat book ban. They are trying too hard for people to believe them. If they claim Pat's profiling is wrong they must be seen still searching for Maddie via their PIs. Scheming, manipulative, and low pond life - that's the mccanns for you - cant get worst than that.

The mccanns are educated people surely they are not waiting for someone to come and fetch maddie's dna?
Even a child can figure that out hello? They think they are so clever at fooling people but they are the biggest fools.

I don't think they had a girl at all did they. The Leh police know nothing about it.

You dont say candyfloss!

Of course everyone knows that, otherwise why do you think mccanns are not out on a flash on the first plane.

Anyone with an iota of common sense can figure that out.
Why liaise with the police about dna (messing about) when they can go and verify for themselves, unless they already know it was a hoax - so how did they know it was a fake report - could it be they planted it ? Of course they did.

I know that, aiyoyo, I'm the one who has been posting the info I was answering another poster who didn't, and many other don't seem to either judging by the texts even now.

err.......from the quote I definitely thought you were answering to me isn't it?

..

..Madeleine McCann's family has played down a possible sighting of the missing child in India.

Local police are said to be investigating after a British woman spotted a six-year-old girl who appeared to resemble Madeleine in a market in the city of Leh in northern India on Friday night.

A French woman and a Belgian man who were with the girl insisted they were her biological parents but police took their passports to check, the Chandigarh Tribune newspaper reported.

It is understood that the private detectives hired by Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, to continue looking for their daughter are not currently planning to travel to India but will liaise with local police.

McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "The private investigators currently searching for Madeleine have been aware of this report from India for several days, and have been working to establish its veracity.

"So far unfortunately there is nothing to suggest that this sighting is any more credible than any of the many others we have had over the last four-plus years."

Madeleine was nearly four when she went missing from her family's holiday flat in Praia da Luz in the Algarve on May 3 2007 as her parents dined with friends nearby.

Portuguese detectives, helped by officers from Leicestershire Police, carried out a massive investigation into her disappearance.

But the official inquiry was formally shelved in July 2008 and since then no police force has been actively looking for the missing child, who would now be eight.

Scotland Yard launched a review of the original investigation in May after a request from Home Secretary Theresa May supported by Prime Minister David Cameron. Hundreds of possible sightings of the little girl around the world have been reported since she went missing, but so far they have all come to nothing

Funny how the whole scotland yard is being ignored in this "sighting".
Wouldn't it make sense to have them make the contact with the police there about this fantasy story? After all what power do the 'private detectives" have other being as thick as their employers.
BTW do I understand Edgar is multiplying himself or is it a royal pleural?

THE grandmother of missing Madeleine McCann have had to dismiss a report that the missing youngster may have been found in India.

Grandmother Susan Healy (pictured with grandfather Brian), the mother of Liverpool-born Kate McCann, told the ECHO: "Kate has been in touch and told me it has been discounted."

But Mrs Healy, who lives in Allerton, added: "As Kate said, the good thing about this reported possible sighting is that there is still an awareness among the public about Madeleine.

"And while this may not have come to anything, we are thankful that people are still looking – hopefully, next time, the result will be different."

Madeleine McCann: Girl spotted in India not our missing Maddie say parents

By Mirror.co.uk

28/07/2011

Kate and Gerry McCann no not believe a young girl seen in India is their missing daughter Madeleine, their spokesman said.

Local police became involved after a British woman spotted a six-year-old girl who appeared to resemble Madeleine in a market in the city of Leh in northern India on Friday night.

A French woman and a Belgian man who were with the girl insisted they were her biological parents but police took their passports to check, the Chandigarh Tribune newspaper reported.

McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "Kate and Gerry do not believe the child seen in India was Madeleine. They have seen photographic evidence and concluded that it was not her. "We remain grateful for people's vigilance around the world. Madeleine is still out there and the search for her very much continues."

Where has the photographic evidence come from? And when did they see it, so how come these stories appear online today. The Leh police know nothing about it.

Kashmir police deny finding missing British girl

Srinagar, July 28 (IANS)

The Jammu and Kashmir Police Thursday denied media reports that a British girl who had reportedly gone missing in Portugal four years ago was found in Leh.

Talking to some media persons here Thursday evening, Abdul Gani Mir, deputy inspector general of police (DIG), said: ‘We have not recovered any missing foreign girl from Leh.’

‘There is no question of carrying out a DNA test since we don’t have the girl. Our field staff in Leh have confirmed that no such girl has been recovered by them.’

‘A British media report said that a girl missing for the last four years from Portugal had been sighted in Leh district of the state. We have no such confirmation from either the police or the district administration,’ the DIG said.

Earlier, a British newspaper report had said a four-year-old British girl, who was allegedly kidnapped while on a holiday in Portugal in 2007, has reportedly been tracked down to Leh city in India’s Jammu and Kashmir state.

The report in the Daily Mail also said the parents of Madeleine McCann are, however, awaiting the results of a DNA test on the girl.

Kate and Gerry McCann’s team of private investigators said they were working with Leh police who were alerted after a British woman spotted a girl she thought to be Madeleine. The abducted girl would now be eight years old.

‘Madeleine was about to celebrate her fourth birthday when she went missing on a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007,’ the daily said.

‘The woman who found the girl raised concerns with other tourists who agreed with her.’

‘An American man even reportedly tried to take the girl from the couple with whom she was.’

‘However, the French woman and her Belgian husband insisted they were the parents of the girl.

‘Leh police have now taken swabs so that DNA tests can be carried out on the girl,’ the Daily Mail report had said.

Kate and Gerry McCann recently launched a book about how she disappeared. Proceeds from the book, titled ‘Madeleine’ go towards the funding of their search for their daughter.

The official Portuguese inquiry into the girl’s disappearance was formally shelved in July 2008.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has also asked Scotland Yard to carry out a review of the investigation, the Daily Mail report said.

Oh ok McScams...leaving no stone unturned and relying on photos to find out if it is your daughter!!! Just like the photoshopped photos you scam the world with hey!

Why not A) look at the girls right eye...and B) Check for the birthmark on her left knee

I don't know your daughter but seem to know more then you both do!! You should never be parents, its sickening

"Oh foolish man, what can you not be made to believe"

Post by Daisy on 29.07.11 1:40

What I find scary about this latest hoax is the message behind it; that it's ok to snatch a child ("around the world") that might resemble Madeleine? And then make them have DNA tests? that's insane! Yet I've read far too many comments today (on mainstream sites) that gloss right over this part or worst still, find it acceptable that a family should be subjected to this terror. It's not! It looks like conditioning through propaganda to me and sadly a lot of folk are falling for it. Jeez.. just what kind of society are we sleepwalking into?

If this was a true story and some poor family had had to be dragged through that ordeal, it would be barbaric, and the McCanns should surely be condenming this sort treatment of an innocent family, not encouraging and condoning it. Sick!

This must count as one of Pinky's most bold and outright LIES that takes the PISS!

Kashmir Police have confirmed there is no such sighting YET the mccanns claimed they have seen photography evidence - wtf? Who had provided them the photo then?

What strange hold does CM have over the tabloid that they continue to toe the mccanns line? Or is it a case of giving them enough rope to hang themselves? Must be the latter as I see no logic in this time and space wasting exercise otherwise.

I agree Daisy, and to my amazement the Daily Mail posted a comment from me about that.

It shows once again what a sociopaths the McCanns are. They have absolutely no interest in what their actions cause, as long as their actions give them the, oh so short, satisfaction for the moment.

Missing UK girl not in J&K: Cops

Post by ROSA on 29.07.11 4:32

Missing UK girl not in J&K: Cops
SRINAGAR The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday denied media reports that a British girl who had reportedly gone missing in Portugal four years ago was found in Leh.

Abdul Gani Mir, deputy inspector-general of police (DIG), said: “We have not recovered any missing foreign girl from Leh. There is no question of carrying out a DNA test since we don’t have the girl. Our field staff in Leh have confirmed that no such girl has been recovered by them. A British media report said that a girl missing for the last four years from Portugal had been sighted in Leh district of the state. We have no such confirmation from either the police or the district administration,” he said.

Earlier, a British newspaper report had said a four-year-old British girl, who was allegedly kidnapped while on a holiday in Portugal in 2007, has reportedly been tracked down to Leh in Jammu and Kashmir state.

OK so NOW I'm confused

Post by Tigers Eye on 29.07.11 7:04

So...was there a sighting...or not?

Was a little girl and her family held...or not?

Did stupid tourists try to kidnap a six year old...or not?

No DNA test? (Isn't Leh a very small Indian town, do they have facilities there to take and analyse DNA swabs and also to turn around results in record time? How long would it take to compare any DNA with that of Madeleine? Who liaises with whom?)

No photo? (Someone - who? - takes a photo, downloads it to a pc, emails it to the McCanns? When?)

The chief of police in the area claims that nothing has been reported relating to a missing little girl, so who is right here?

Does Clarence Mitchell think we're STUPID? In fact, I think he does. Indeed, watching this story break and develop over at the Official Find Madeleine FB page, as I was yesterday (OK, I'd finished my work!) there were quite a few folks posting links to the "truth" but these were almost completely ignored, there were endless wails of "has she been found?", "I keep praying that the DNA results will show it's her" etc etc and then again YET ANOTHER link to a news report proving that the so-called lead was false. And yet more stupid wailings followed.

In any case, as has been already said, there is no coincidence with the timing: Pat Brown's book is banned/another "sighting" = "hey, there are people out there still looking for her". Give me strength.

As I said, CM must think we're all stupid. And some of us (the FBookers) clearly are.

Hello all, I usually lurk at the background but thought (well had to ha ha) to air my views on this. I totally agree with Daisy and I'm livid that McCanns don't do anything to disapprove such a behaviour. And how come they get away releasing such a blatant lies like that they've seen the photo of the girl when clearly there's no such a girl. Why no-one picks up on this garbage???? Aaaarrggghhhh!!!

And what comes to their official facebook page, well, it's another aaaaarrggggghhh for me. Had a look this morning and I can't believe the collective stupidity. Here's one gem;

"Local police superintendent, Vivek Gupta said:

'This incident is not in my knowledge and I have not sent any request to anyone for this. We have not taken any swabs for DNA testing. We have not even been approached for any help by anyone in this case."
He added: "If anyone wants our help, we are willing to help but as of now, we have not been approached. My men are not at all involved in any such investigation."

DEAR GOD! WHY? Is this another inept police force! PLEASE take the DNA of this little girl.

Webmaster, please forward this to Kate."

Welcome to the site NordicInKent. I admire those of you who are brave enough to access the McCanns' Facebook site - my stomach is way too delicate to enable me to read more than the odd head banging gem that comes from there. I could understand a little old lady who only reads the Sun to come out with the nonsense you quote regarding the "sighting" in India but it's unbelievable from people who have access to the Internet. No offence to little old ladies by the way - I am one myself!!
