All one could possibly say to this, is that there are no pockets in shrouds, so where is this money really going to?

Is it being raised on behalf of the Portuguese tax-payers as a nice surprise? Because this is where any money should be going back to.

I am sure this "piece" they are putting together will be very sparse. I am sure the days are long gone where people organized events to raise money for the McCanns Legal Defence or Legal Attack Find Maddie Fund.

In answer to the thread title....No.

I have however, petitioned the government on Madeleine's behalf to have the case re-opened, written to a number of MP's in order to raise awareness of questions that still need to be answered and issue that need to be addressed, I have taken similar action with the press. I have also handed out 1,000's of leaflets in order to enlighten the public on events surrounding the case that the British media have failed to address and reveal.

There would be no need for fund raising if the case was re--opened at their behest. This should have been done immediately it was shelved. The police would be doing their job. Although I'm sure nearly 4 years on things would have been wound down somewhat. They should be asking people to fund raise on behalf of ALL missing children, as they have had so many millions from the public etc., surely someone else missing deserves help too.

My thoughts also YNG... when I saw the name. Some posters said she was Kate's cousin but not sure if that's true. I would not be surprised though.

Hi krissy22 , well if we're thinking of the same poster she used to always tell others she would contact or message them on facebook and of course name begins with K ........ I've not heard she might be a cousin of K's though but she is very close to TM if it's the same person , that I do know .

re: "Have you done fundraising on Madeleine's behalf?"

I believe the McCanns count money towards their legal fees, used e.g. to try to stuff and snuff out Goncalo Amaral, as being done 'On Madeleine's behalf'.

I think their argument is:

Goncalo Amaral is spreading vile rumours that Madeleine is dead...therefore this prevents millions of people 'looking for Madeleine' while they're out shopping, travelling home from the football match, walking in the park, away on holiday etc., so we need to ban his book and if possible get him convicted on trumped-up charges so that we can get as many folk as possible looking for Madeleine.

Just like we the McCanns are doing, with help from Clarence Mitchell (paid for by FMF) and Carter-Ruck (paid for by FMF). I think their court costs for losing the book banning appeal may well be coming, in part at least, from all those weekly pensions and pocket monies sent so generously. Not to mention Halligen living it up with his latest floosy in some of the poshest hotels on both sides of the pond.

A modern scandal.

This could, imo, be Karen McCalman or Karen Turner whose FB friends include a number of McCann family and supporters

winkwink

Maybe they are running out of ideas for their book, and wanting this for inclusion into the pages, to show people believed them and are helping them.

NO, definitely NOT. I'd rather raise fund for gourmet dogs food for Eddie and Keela ...

What did they use their fund for? Dodgy detectives and other dodgy lackies.....fraudsters.

Have I done fundraising on Madeleine's behalf? Well if that means holding a coffee morning, or entering a fun run, then no.

I have however donated to the "fund". This was way back in 2007 when I was emotionally bowled over by the news of the "abduction" of a child, and this emotion fuelled on a daily basis through the media. So I donated my pension.

I had been a computer owner for only a very short time and being very nervous of it our son advised me that I wouldn't break it just to have a wander through the world of Google, and through this wander I came accross a forum that was very pro McCann. So I joined. But the links given to places where there were questions being asked, and details that I just wasn't being exposed to on this forum, and my fellow posters anger and name calling made me want to find out more. So I went again onto good old Google .
I started to question, on the forum, and was warned, then banned

Now my donations are towards Madeleine, and they certainly are not to the McCann fund that imo has nothing to do with Madeline. They are to the Madeleine Foundation, they are towards GA. They are towards the search for the truth.

If they have so much support as they say they have - it will be an awfully big 'piece' - whereas if their support is not what they say it is - we won't hear about this again. Are they not just trying to squeeze every last drop of publicity out of the supposed abduction of their daughter. puke

People who donate to Charities usually don't chase publicity - does this latest foray mean we will be seeing "Awards" for those who have donated the most ?

And what is this 'piece' they intend to put together about fund-raising? Sounds like they are planning an additional section to their FindMadeleine Website.
As with theolivebranch, any donation I make for Madeleine will go to The Madeleine Foundation to help them carry on their work in getting to the truth.

Blood and cadaver alerts
dismissed by UK Government

Retired DCI Gonçalo Amaral: "The English can always present the conclusions to which they themselves arrived in 2007. Because they know, they have the evidence of what happened - they don't need to investigate anything. All this is now a mere 'show off'."

Retired murder DCI Colin Sutton: "I would also like to make the point that Operation Grange was so restricted from the start as to be destined to fail."

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley made public on national TV that Operation Grange is a complete fraud.

Ex-DCI Andy Redwood had a "revelation moment" on BBC's Crimewatch on 14th October 2013 when he announced that Operation Grange had eliminated the Tanner sighting - which opened up the 'window of opportunity', in accordance with their remit, to allow the fake abduction to happen.

Despite "irrelevant behaviour" from blood and cadaver dogs in the McCann's apartment, on Kate McCann's clothes, and in the car they hired three weeks after Maddie disappeared, Ex-Chief Inspector, Ian Horrocks, said: "The thought that Kate and Gerry McCann had anything to do with the death of their daughter is frankly preposterous."

Gerry McCann called for example to be made of 'trolls'. SKY News reporter Martin Brunt doorstepped Brenda Leyland on 2 October 2014. She was then found dead in a Leicester hotel room. Brenda paid the price. She paid with her life.

Ex-Deputy Chief Constable, Jim Gamble QPM, congratulated SKY reporter, Martin Brunt, on twitter for doorstepping Brenda Leyland on behalf of Gerry McCann.
