I've looked at the opening several times, and watched the whole interview. I can't spot anything significant.

Bernt's investigation finished nearly three years ago, so what has he been working on since then.

I am of the belief that Madeleine is not buried there.

For those who have followed the whole story . . .
Bernt did the background work and wrote the book a LONG time ago.
He liaised extensively with H, Fülscher, who was very interested in his findings and theories BUT who asked
that Bernt did not release the book for publication until the trial of Brückner had reached a particular point, and some key “witnesses’ had given their evidence
and it was on the official Court record - for reason we all understand.
Out of Professional Courtesy, and with the long term strategy in mind - that of ultimately discovering and uncovering the Truth in the Madeleine case
Bernt withheld the book for another two years - or more
5+2 = 7
There is no mystery, no fudging of numbers.
it has taken that long to get to where he is now
And the next Interview is imminent,
Just be patient, and try not to let your minds wander off into conspiracy theories,
After 17 years and 7 months the frustration within us all is evident.
SO close, we can all feel the tension in what we are writing
But HANG ON

At about 6.57 minutes, Bernt/Bane said...'will be a surprise to those who think they know all about the case'. That sounds like a dig at the forum, which he has obviously studied; he hasn't said one thing that hasn't been posted here.

We have no choice but to wait it out, the longer the wait, the more intensely we will scrutinize.
And the more we will question what he say's.
It will be no good if he doesn't show compelling evidence the next time.

Well there is Smithman... which most people disagreed with him here initially.

Why should it ? The MC case is supposed to have nothing to do with the last trial against CB.

Ah ok, that makes sense...it was a very old video from 2.5 years ago.
Way before he became properly known on this forum.

"SUPPOSED" being the operative word.
But the witnesses against Brückner were going to be the same ones who have now been shown to be unreliable in the other cases against him
I use my words carefully here !!

It was vital for Fülscher that they were exposed before the book was released, so their testimony is now on the official Court records and cannot be altered.

IF .... H Wolters choses to have a go at Brückner over Madeleine, then he has
No evidence of Abduction
No evidence of Harm
No evidence of Murder
Just the uncorroborated and contradictory ramblings of a couple of career criminals who tried to set him up for two other offences, but failed.
And nothing else.

Would someone please explain in simple terms, why the book being released earlier would have an impact if Brueckner was charged with the murder of Madeleine?
Why was it vital for Fulscher that that the two witnesses were exposed before the book launch?
They were shown to be unreliable at the rape trial of Brueckner, why would they take any notice of them if they testified against him in a murder case about Madeleine?
I'm wondering why, after the last trial of Brueckner, and the testimonies of the two unreliable witness, they are not questioning the evidence that they gave that put him in jail for 7 years for the rape of the American lady.
I am genuinely confused.

A Court Stenographer is the ony way to have Cross Examinations of Witnesses entered into Court Records.

Lawyers are not allowed to take Notes, or Record Witness Testimonies in the German Courts.

Such Notes if taken, would be inadmissable as Evidence.

If Bernt was to give away any Secret Information to the Witnesses, they might change their Statements to Suit.

In effect they could Invent BETTER STORIES to use against CB.
