After getting an interesting uti which travelled north and declared a running battle on my kidneys and failing to die having spent a fun 7 days in icu and now moved to a ward, heaven didn't want me and hell was scared I would take over and notre dame being an innocent victim of an accidentaI passing shot, I declare myself immortal, be warned.
Also a huge thanks to all my family, friends fans and supporters
She also posted this update:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] They Don't know what happened but my bloods were awful. My kidney function was bad and I was dialyzed through neck lines. My kidney function seems to be doubling every 2 days. The consultant said I was one of the 5% that they will never have a definitive cause as to why I collapsed. They are amazed at how fast I am recovering and I will likely be going home on Tues after the bank holiday. I almost died and I didn't therefore I am immortal. I feel amazing , not even remotely sick. I have them puzzled with the UTI. I am totally awesome

Oh dear .... I'm so sorry Hobs.
Whilst you continue your recovery, you can entertain the hospital staff with your caustic wit and analysis of their every word - bet that's what you've been doing .
My very best wishes to you and hurry back!

@ Hobs
Adding my good wishes to you for a speedy and full recovery.
Do I remember correctly that Dr David Payne works in a Kettering Hospital?
If you see him, could you please ask him what really happened to Madeleine?

Re: Dearest Hobs is in Kettering hospital
I am now out of hospital YAY i will continue to have blood tests to monitor my7 kidney function 35% yesterday which is a huge improvement and which will hopefully continue to improve.
They messed my meds up as they decided to stop my metformin (i am diabetic) and put me on linagliptin which is 1 pill once a day rather than the previous 2 twice a day. However, for whatever reason they also crossed off the linagliptin which meant for several days i had nothing for that although they were giving me some of my other pills in dribs and drabs and i couldn't keep track of what i was getting.
My blood sugars were higher than expected during the night and during the day when i was expecting to see 7's and 10's depending on timer and how long after food.
I was hitting 16 before breakfast so i queried it and that's when they had their oops moment.
I was not happy.
They finally dispensed it yesterday on coming home and there has been a big improvement although it may take another day or 2 for me to stabilize.
I got home and had a cleaning blitz as uncle wasn't good at understanding the concept of housework and my bathroom was shocking, he did try bless him but his health issues and short term memory loss didn't help.
Bro and his wifey were popping in to make sure he was managing which he was, eating ok getting to his appointments, good job i am scarily organized and transport was all done and booked as well. everything written down on 2 calendars and my big diary.
My cats were delighted to have me home as were the hogs i saw last night looking for sexy time with the ladies and being told to bugger off i am eating by said ladies.
It is lovely to be back sleeping in my 4 poster bed rather than hospital beds with air mattresses or their normal mattresses which messed my back up.
There were a couple of tall and very good looking doctors there as well and when they did their rounds, i admired the view, all the ladies did as well, especially the 96 year old who looked to be in her mid 70's, mobile and independent and with a filthy laugh heh heh.
Thank you for all your kind wishes, i am heading to bed to watch GoT season 8 which i missed the start of and a nap.
Big hugs all round honey xx

They often say "Our N.H.S. is the envy of the world".Hobs wrote:They messed my meds up as they decided to stop my metformin (i am diabetic) and put me on linagliptin which is 1 pill once a day rather than the previous 2 twice a day...

Well, no it isn't, actually.
In fact, the insurance-based private hospitals in many European countries deliver a better service than the highly bureaucratised N.H.S. we have..
PLUS we have the huge disadvantage of having to pay off the massive loan repayments resulting from Tony Blair's disastrous and ill-fated PFI initiative.
Most hospitals are run by agency staff these days with agencies making a killing (forgive the expression).
But very glad you survived @ Hobs and may your recovery continue speedily.
Here, we edge ever nearer putting together the REAL schedule of events that fateful week in Praia da Luz
