THE HUNT GOES ON
What happened to Madeleine McCann, what are the latest theories on her disappearance and what age would she be now?
Madeleine McCann disappeared in May 2007 while on holiday with her family in Portugal
By Neal Baker, Jon Lockett and Gemma Mullin
THE case of missing Madeleine McCann remains a mystery but new theories continue to emerge as the 10th anniversary of her disappearance approaches.
Three-year-old Maddie vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal’s Praia da Luz in 2007 while her parents Kate and Gerry were dining nearby with friends.

Interest in Maddie’s case has also increased in the past couple of months as the agonising 10-year mark of her disappearance nears.
Madeleine vanished on May 3, 2007, when her family, from Leicestershire, were holidaying in the Algarve, Portugal.
Parents Gerry and Kate left their three children – including toddler twins Sean and Amelie – sleeping in their apartment while they dined at a nearby tapas bar.
When Kate returned to check on the kids at around 10pm that evening, she discovered that Maddie was not in her bed and was missing.
In September of that year, Gerry and Kate, who are both doctors, were sensationally named as ‘arguidos’ by Portuguese police.
While arguido is often translated as ‘suspect’, it actually means a person being questioned under caution.
The following summer the McCanns were cleared by investigators in Portugal who declared they had exhausted all avenues in the case.
In 2010, Maddie’s distraught parents met with then-home secretary Theresa May to talk about the hunt for their daughter.
The following year, Scotland Yard launched its own review, named Operation Grange, into the case at the behest of the future PM.
Two years later Scotland Yard said it had uncovered new leads while Portuguese police reopened their case.
In October 2015, Operation Grange was scaled down from 29 detectives to just four.
Last December, the Tory government injected extra funding into the operation as cops investigated a new theory that Maddie was snatched by a human trafficking ring.
Maddie would have turned 14 on May 12 this year.
In April 2012, UK cops released a computer generated image of Maddie showing what she would look like aged nine.
A number of potential leads have emerged since the little girl vanished, but none amounted to anything and no arrests have ever been made.
An Austrian TV show has said it will will reveal new evidence in a “landmark television event”.
In a teaser video released on Thursday, Channel 7’s Sunday Night claims a new line of inquiry could bring the case closer to being solved.
Forensic scientist Dave Barclay will feature on the programme, calling the case “the most baffling” he’s ever looked at.
Journalist Rahni Sadler will also speak to the case’s lead investigator and criminal profiler.
Ex-detective Dave Edgar who spent three years looking for Maddie believes the three-year-old was snatched by a child-sex gang and could still be alive.
He has offered to to “come back on board” the hunt if needed by her parents.
But this comes after two criminal profiling experts have said they believe Maddie died in the apartment, piling further misery on the McCanns.

Portuguese judges have also said the McCanns have not been cleared over the disappearance of daughter Madeleine.

Portugal’s most senior judges claimed the investigation into the McCanns was only shelved in 2008 because of a lack of evidence.
Judges added there were “serious concerns” over the theory that Madeleine had been abducted.
They added their job was not to decide whether the McCanns bore any criminal responsibility over their daughter’s disappearance.
They said it would be wrong for anyone to draw any inferences about the couple’s guilt or innocence from their ruling.

According to the TV detective, Maddie left the apartment in search of her parents.
“I think Maddie was aware they were in the tapas bar in the resort. In order to get to the bar you have to come out of the premises, walk on a public road and go back in again.
“The concern I have, I believe she woke up and went looking for them, she left the apartment and came out, we already know the patio door was insecure.”

And there have been countless supposed sightings of Maddie if speculation such as that surrounding ‘Maria’ is included.
Most serious were the alleged sightings in the hours and days following Madeleine’s disappearance.
On the night she was taken police received two separate potential sightings from members of the public — however one was fully ruled out as being a holidaymaker with his daughter.
There were six reported sightings between May 4-17 in Portugal, including CCTV footage that showed a girl matching Maddie’s description with two men and a woman at a petrol station in the town of Nelas.
Over the border in Spain there have been three reported sightings — the latest being in April 2012 — but all have been ruled out.
There have been roughly eight major alleged sightings in Morocco, two of which were in the immediate few days after her disappearance, leading to an Interpol investigation which was quickly closed.
British police have also been in the country chasing leads in the investigation.
Beyond these three counties there have been numerous alleged sightings across the world, including two in Belgium and New Zealand, six in Brazil, one in Bosnia, Sweden and India and many more.
There were as many as 29 in Malta in the month after the disappearance which led to the capital Valletta being briefly locked down.
One of the most serious potential sightings in Amsterdam was revealed when Portuguese police released their case files in August 2008.
It showed a girl of blonde girl of Madeleine’s age and description told a shopkeeper her name was “Maddie” and she had been “taken from mummy”.
The McCann’s were not made aware of this alleged sighting at the time it was reported to police and it is not clear how if at all investigators followed it up.
The Portuguese case files contained a 14-page section listing potential sightings across the world in only the year since she disappeared.
Leicestershire Police released their tip-off files to the McCann’s in July 2008 containing 81 reported sightings in the first year of the investigation.

Desperate times. Naughty Sr. Amaral and Supreme Court. How dare they disclose truths.
There are two people who can stop this disgusting exploitation. The person who started it all and the person who I think did and still does as they are told.

Re: The Sun - The Hunt Goes On (23rd April)
Portugal’s most senior judges claimed the investigation into the McCanns was only shelved in 2008 because of a lack of evidence.
No it wasn't.
It was shelved primarily because the mccanns and chums refused to cooperate and take part in a police reconstruction.
The mccanns as arguidos were compelled to participate, they didn't want to for obvious reasons in that it would be a debacle showing the claimed checks and behavior on the Thurs night could not have taken place as claimed, so they had the tapas 7 come up with ridiculous requirements and demands along with arguments explaining their refusal to take part on the grounds it would not help find Maddie, it was not helpful to the mccanns etc.
It was also shelved because their was insufficient evidence to prove what crime had actually taken place or to prosecute the mccanns.
Insufficient evidence is not the same as a lack of evidence.
Lack of evidence would imply little to no evidence of a crime.
Insufficient evidence would imply there was evidence of a crime but not enough to guarantee an arrest and successful prosecution.
The evidence found indicated there was no abduction and in the 10 years of investigation, there has still been no evidence of an abduction.
The evidence found indicates the presense of a corpse in apt.5a.
The presence of cadaverine on kate's pants, explained away as her dealing with multiple corpses prior to the vacation.
The presence of cadaverine on a childs red t shirt, which cannot be explained away as coming into contact with corpses prior to the vacation through work (even Doogie Howser was older than almost 4) though touch transfer has been claimed,in which case why were no other items of clothing contaminated?
The presence of cadaverine on cuddle cat, explained away as kate taking it into work with her, despite this being Maddie's allegedly favorite toy and despite claims it was an early birthday present from her uncle.
The presence of cadaverine in the hire care, hired over 20 days after Maddie disappeared.
The presence of body fluids with a 15/19 match to Maddie with the remaining 4 markers too degenerated to be identified.
Fluids explained away by the mccanns and others as coming from dirty diapers, sweaty sandals, rotting meat and fish, leake4d blood from said meat and fish.
Then we also have the statements from the mccanns and tapas 7 which only serve to incriminate rather than clear.
Then we have the interviews, gerry's blog, statements etc in which the mccanns and their spokesman using the process of free editing where they speak freely in response to questions or to make a statement either verbal or written admit and confess that they know Maddie is dead.
Although there is currently no body, there is ample forensic and circumstantial evidence to show Maddie mccann died during the week of their vacation, probably earlier in the week than her alleged abduction on the Thursday night, probably the Sunday or Monday when the behavior of the mccanns changed considerably in that they ey as a party ate seperately from the tapas 7 bar evening meals.
There is no definite and independant sighting of Maddie after the Sunday, the creche registration forms being a jumbled and bodged mess with changing signatures and parental names kate being both healy and mccann.
We have the behavior of the blood and cadaver dogs.
The blood found in the apartment.
The almost forensic cleaning even to washing the curtains.
We have the leaked admissions that the children were all sleeping in one apartment.
The missing adult from the table each night.
The leaked admission about the children being bathed and put to bed by someone other than the mccanns.
The Drs. Gaspar statements.
The social worker's statement.
Mrs Fenn statement regarding the crying.
The deleted phone calls.
The bed Maddie allegedly slept in and abducted from appearing perfectly made whilst the bed under the window looked slept in.
The refusal to have the twins taken to hospital for checks given they didn't wake up during all the furore.
The checking of their breathing by fingers under the nose and hands on their backs despite that not being how breathing should be checked, especially since she was a doctor.
The denial of sedation only for them to claim the twins may have been sedated weeks down the line.
Them being privately tested for sedatives over 3 months down the line by the mccanns and kate being tested for medications and them claiming nothing was found, whilst them not telling us what was being tested for.
This means they could have specified certain medications and drugs and not the ones they used or were taking, allowing them to claim they were clear.
Kate saying she would take a lie detector test and when taken up on the offer, setting so many requirements and demands that the test was impossible.
Not searching for their daughter.
Not calling out to their daughter.
Kate admitting in her charity bike ride that wouldnb't help Maddie.
Kate threatening to commit murder-suicide so they could ALL be together.
Gerry's mea culpa.
Clarrie telling us kate and gerry played no part in Maddie's death.
Kate telling us Maddie haunted her.
The fund.
Suing the ex lead detective who was trying to find their daughter
Kate refusing to answer 48 questions although it was technically more since several were compound answers.
Kate telling us Portugal didn't want a murder in their country.
Charging people to download posters.
Using an old photo of Maddie that was nothing how she looked that week.
Conveniently being able to print off pictures of said young Maddie that night when they should and did have more recent pics from that vacation.
Giving the sniffer dogs a towel to sniff to track Maddie when it could have been used by anyone. Why not an item of her clothing worn that day?
Having to go back to Rothley in order to find something with Maddie's DNA when the apartment should have been swarming with it.
Payne revealing there was certain other information but this was not the time for it.
My feelings are that the tapas7 , kate and gerry should all be arrested at the same time and taken to different police stations and interrogated individually.
All stations to be in contact so if an interesting bit of information comes up, perhaps blaming someone else or claiming so and so did something at such and such a time, said person can then be asked about it (in passing)
This way none of them can forewarn the others as to questions or answers or sit in during an interview as per kate and gerry.
Refusal to answer questions should result in them being arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justion, obstruction of justice, aiding and abetting an offender, suspicion of murder, concealment of a corpse and filing a false police report.
Bail to be set at a high amount that they would struggle to pay it.
Someone will talk, especially if the prosecutors offer a plea deal.
First to talk wins the prize.
No it wasn't.
