Dogs react in Kiesha Abrahams case *UPDATE* Mother to stand trial for her murder

Post by kangdang on 06.09.10 17:38

I have created a new thread for the latest twist in the search for Kiesha Abrahams as it seems that sniffer dogs have detected the scent of a cadaver in it's absence. It will be interesting to see how this situation evolves.

THE search for missing schoolgirl Kiesha Abrahams took a bizarre twist yesterday, with a report that a body had been found dumped inside a duffle bag at a western Sydney park.
Police attending the scene failed to locate any trace of the remains but found what appeared to be a blood-stained shirt.

The unusual chain of events began at 4pm on Saturday when police received a call from a woman who claimed she found a duffle bag containing human remains near Cabramatta Creek in southwest Sydney.

When police arrived at the scene, there was no trace of the bag or a body. But, interestingly, police sniffer dogs reacted as if they smelled the scent of remains.

Yesterday, police carried out an extensive ground and air search at Edwin Wheeler Oval, Sadlier.

They found no body, but discovered a yellow shirt covered in what appeared to be blood.

Local woman Katrina Parker said she was the one who discovered the shirt inside a bin.

"We were just sitting on the park bench having a cigarette and when we went to put our rubbish in the bin there was a fluoro work shirt just sitting on top of the bin," she told The Daily Telegraph.

"It was fairly stained in a dark red but nothing like a dirt stain. It was definitely blood."

The shirt - along with a rubber ball, a yellow belt and blood-stained paper towels - was removed by a forensic team and taken to the laboratory for testing.

Acting Superintendent Steve Corry said yesterday those items were not believed to be linked to the bag of human remains allegedly found but he refused to comment on the duffle bag.

Asked whether he had considered the possibility of the initial reports being a hoax, Supt Corry said: "We take all information from the public seriously."

Meanwhile, the mother and stepfather of Kiesha Abrahams yesterday spent an hour at their former home unit at Mt Druitt - from where the six-year-old allegedly disappeared five weeks ago - to collect their belongings and take them to their new address.

They quickly entered the new block and did not stop to look at the large community shrine outside the unit dedicated to their missing daughter.

The couple refused to comment on the police search for the body in the bag being carried out near Liverpool. They have consistently denied any involvement in Keisha's disappearance.

Kiesha's mother to stand trial for murder

By court reporter Jamelle Wells

The mother of six-year-old Sydney girl Kiesha Weippeart has admitted to killing her and interfering with her body.

Kiesha's remains were found in bushland at Shalvey in Sydney's west in 2011, a year after she went missing from her Mt Druitt home.

There was an extensive police search and an appeal for information from the public after she was reported missing in August 2010.

Her mother Kristi Abrahams faced the New South Wales Supreme Court this morning to plead guilty to manslaughter and interfering with a corpse. But she pleaded not guilty to murder.

After prosecutor Chris Maxwell QC rejected the guilty pleas, Justice Ian Harrison confirmed that Abrahams would stand trial for the more serious charge of murder.

She remains in custody and will apply to face trial before a judge only.

Abrahams will stand trial in the Supreme Court in June, where the hearing is expected to last for two months.

During previous court appearances, supporters of Keisha have appeared in the public gallery carrying photos of her and wearing purple T-shirts bearing her name.

Many of them were neighbours who knew her.

The end of another "bedroom disappearance" case.
They just keep coming, don't they.
Bedroom, parents claiming "disappeared", dogs alerting,
and eventually a grudging admission of manslaughter, luckily not accepted, and finally a finding of Guilty of Murder.

And by definition of lying about everything else !

Not such a perfect murder as they thought isn't it?

Sooner or later the truth will out!

I get so sad, when I see that photo of little Kiesha again. Looks to me like the poor mite didn't have one single nice day in her short life.

Another very similar case - which hasn't yet been resolved - is that of Aliayah Lunsford.

The photo of her with a bruised face was one of the first images issued. We can only imagine the sort of life she led.

Yes, NFWTD. There are many, many sad & pitiful children out there. I don't even want to post here, what I've seen in the past few years in this respect. And every single story is abuse, neglect and death - with all the "excuses" one can imagine - predominantly "abduction" ...

Statement analysis and body language of the pressers indicated deception and that both the mom and step dad were involved.

A psychic claimed the body was in a park, strangely enough they were nearly right, they found the remains of a different person.

The guilty parents behaved as expected and holed up in a hotel and moved away.

They were arrested after they went to the dump site to leave flowers and to wish her a happy birthday.

if you get a chance watch the presser the mom is wearing huge shades and covering the bottom of her face with a big tissue, she whines and makes noises pretending to be upset yet when you look the noises are faked, there is no puffiness or reddening of her face, no tears nothing.

For poor Kiesha it was not a case of if, rather a case of when she would be nurdered, all the signs were there.

Less convincing than the Philpotts at their press conference! I noticed that, as soon as the camera moved away from Kiesha's mother to her grandfather on the right, she shut up.

I wonder why grandpa never noticed that Kiesha was being ill-treated and abused........

As despicable as they are, we shouldn't forget they were caught when they went to lay flowers on her birthday at the place where her remains were buried.

Yes, I thought when I first read about how they were caught that at least they have a conscience.

I just wonder if they could have been influenced by anyone else (not thinking of anyone specific of course!) when they came up with the bedroom disappearance nonsense.

So obvious the put on whining and sobs. Real sobs would leave her streaming with tears, saliva and mucous till she choked. Her face swollen and bright red. Yet we see a dry tissue and dark glasses. These people just sicken me.
