Sir Bernard had vowed he was “confident of resolving” the world’s biggest missing child mystery after nearly 10 years and had promised to 'end the torture' of Madeleine's parents.

Parents Gerry and Kate discovered Maddie was missing after they had left their children - including toddler twins Sean and Amelie - while they dined at a nearby tapas bar.

Operation Grange, the inquiry launched in May 2011 to the spiralling £13 million cost to the taxpayer, has failed to unearth any significant new clues despite thousands of potential sightings. Yesterday a Met Police spokesperson insisted: “We are cracking on...”

Wow! I wouldn't expect TK to put anything other than a positive spin on this but another one bites the dust and showing is always more interesting than telling!

Oh joy!  I didn't think the day would pass without some 'exclusive' hot off the press - who better than dear sweet Tracey Kandhola to set the scene for the forthcoming week.

Metropolitan Police won't be updating on their investigation but they're 'cracking on' - perhaps it would be preferable if they 'cracked off' and stop wasting public money on a pretence.

What next in this interminable facade?  Would you credit it - people still believe Operation Grange is a bona-fide force?

I despair - this will play havoc with my digestion.

Well, it makes a nice pleasant change from booze swilling sardine munching disgraced sacked cop (singular) - doesn't it?

"OG..........has failed to unearth any significant new clues"

"NEW clues"?

They've FAILED, utterly, miserably, to even 'unearth' the ORIGINAL, OLD 'clues'!

Accidentally.......on purpose!  winkwink

"while they dined at a nearby tapas bar."

HOW 'NEAR'?

"Ask Lisa R, Tracey"
