Apparently MWT tweeted last year to someone that the Portuguese would only re-open the case if new evidence emerged.

He was corrected as to what they have been doing since 2013.

His investigative prowess knows no bounds!

Kate McCann . Ref Page 97 of her book "madeleine".

QUOTE:
"However, I have always found the third suggestion (possibility she had wandered off by herself)  insulting to our intelligence, frankly. Obviously, the police are obliged to consider all possible scenarios but there was no doubt in our minds that Madeleine had not left the apartment of her own accord............ there was no way a three-year-old would have been able to raise the shutters and open the window in the children's room. To give any credence whatsoever to the idea that Madeleine could have walked out on her own you would have to accept that she had gone out the back way, pulling aside the sitting room curtains and drawing them again, then opening the patio door, the child-safety gate at the top of the  stairs on the veranda and the little gate to the road and carefully closing all three behind her. What three-year old do you know who would do that? And we knew Madeleine. She simply would not wander off like this.

This theory was not only insulting, it was, much more importantly, frighteningly damaging to the chances of finding Madeleine quickly. If the police were wasting precious time pursuing it they were not going to be looking in the right places, or taking the appropriate type of action."
END OF QUOTE.

So there you go Mark Williams-Thomas. You forgot all about the open shutter and the open window. You have insulted Kate and Gerry's intelligence and you have wasted precious time pursuing this theory. In other words, hindered the search. Let's hope they don't sue you.

All in all, you came out with the biggest load of codswallop, and insulted the nation's, nay, the world's intelligence also.

Insert a link

And that raises a concern I have in regards to Madeleine I believe woke up in the middle of the night, she went looking for Gerry and Kate and she left the apartment and went out.

Given that Kate McCann raised the alarm at 10pm, it seems strange to say Madeleine woke in the middle of the night.

I'm not sure whether Mark Williams-Thomas and Good Morning can be accused of 'insulting the world's intelligence'...more like they are cunningly taking advantage of four things...

1. The vast power of the mainstream media - in this country and the rest of the world

2. The corruption of Leicestershire Police, the Metropolitan Police, the government and the security services

2. The vastly increased gullibility of the general public in these days of blurred reality, over-reliance on TV as a lens through which to form a world-view, and of course 10 years of sheer indoctrination on the Madeleine McCann case, and - last but not least

4. Our extraordinarily draconian and oppressive libel laws.

Thus it is that the Daily Express has now regurgitated the This Morning broadcast:

http://www.express.co.uk/showbiz/tv-radio/770257/Madeleine-McCann-This-Morning-Mark-Williams-Thomas-ITV

The basis for the Express's article is that we are seriously expected to believe Mark Williams-Thomas's claim that Madeleine could have opened an unsecured patio door, wandered out of G5A, down some steps and out on to the road, looking for her Mum & Dad at the Tapas restaurant.

Not only does that contradict so much of what the McCanns have said about the abduction, not only does it ignore the 17 cadaver alerts, but also...

...does anyone remember DCI Andy Redwood, 'the centre of our focus', and Smithman?

And there is not one person in or TV or print media that will challenge the McCanns' abduction narrative, nor Mark Wiliams-Thomas's belieifs, nor mention the dogs, nor deal with all the contradictions and changes of story etc.

The nearest we've got to so far is Jodie Marsh yes

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/kate-gerry-mccann-baffled-after-9863404

The parents of Madeleine McCann are “baffled” by an investigative journalist's new theory about how the youngster vanished.
Mark Williams-Thomas, a former policeman, appeared on ITV's This Morning to voice his “astonishing new theory” about Maddie’s disappearance.
The couple have always insisted their three-year-old daughter was snatched from a Portuguese holiday flat while they were dining in a nearby tapas bar, either by a sex fiend or during a botched burglary.
But TV detective Mr Williams-Thomas believes the unsettled youngster walked out of the unlocked apartment searching for her parents in the poolside restaurant.
The McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell hit back today, saying: “This is pure speculation and, as such, Kate and Gerry will not be dignifying it with any sort of comment whatsoever.”

A source close to the couple added: “It’s baffling a television programme had him on as an authority on the Madeleine case.
"He’s re-invented himself as a criminologist but when did he become an expert on this high-profile case? Never.”
The friend added: “He said he had received a statement from the McCanns saying they were pleased there was an ongoing investigation which they hoped would unearth some news but they haven’t been in contact with him, neither has their spokesperson.
“It seems he was rehashing a years-old statement that was circulated to all the media.”
Mr Williams-Thomas revealed his theory about that fateful night in Praia da Luz in May 2007 when he appeared on the show as part of a new series on unsolved crimes.

Speaking to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, he echoed previously reported lines about Maddie’s asking her mum and dad “where were you last night?” and her twin siblings waking up on previous nights.
He then stated: “The concern I have, I believe she woke up and went looking for them, she left the apartment and came out, we already know the patio door was insecure.”
The McCann source said: “With no disrespect to this investigative reporter, he is forever trying to latch himself onto the Maddie case. He’s said this all before and he once stood outside Apartment 5A reporting his same old belief.

“But they’re (Kate and Gerry) not going to fall out with him over this. It’s all based on speculation and it’s a free country and they’ve got enough to be dealing with.”
Former GP Kate and heart doctor Gerry, both 48, of Rothley, Leics, believe Maddie could still be alive and have never given up hope of finding her. They face the heart-breaking 10th anniversary of her disappearance in 10 weeks. She would now be aged 13.
Detectives have explored dozens of theories about Madeleine's disappearance from being snatched by paedophiles and murdered during a botched burglary.

Despite nearly 9,000 potential sightings across the globe police have struggled to unearth any new clues.
This is potentially Operation Grange’s final year of searching and they are concentrating solely on the fact she was sold by child traffickers – her parents’ and their first team of private investigators’ initial hunch – and could still be alive.
Reports following her kidnap suggested she could have been smuggled to Belgium or Morocco in North Africa.
Forensic investigations into Maddie’s disappearance just nine days before her fourth birthday were concluded last year.
So far the inquiry, launched in May 2011 on orders of then Prime Minister David Cameron , has cost more than £12 million with topped-up funds set to run out at the end of March.

Someone must have sat Mark Williams-Thomas down and said "You  can say this, but not that. Geddit? Got it?"

Notice how the warm, nay "very warm" weather has crept into his narrative. No air con. Phew, leave that door "insecure"! Make sure the  curtains are drawn though, to keep out the draught. Gerry said it was hot, too. Madeleine on top of the covers as it was so hot. Not snuggled down as Kate reported. Phew. Hot hot hot.

Meanwhile, Jane was freezing. Had to borrow Russ's fleece. Brr Brr shiver shiver.

Later on in the evening, the wind got up and slammed the bedroom door shut. Was it a cold wind or a warm wind?

Stay tooned. There'll be another Crimewatch Special along to explain all this carp no doubt.

I'm reading this differently Tony - release enough to spook them just a little but not enough to have them up in arms running for the lawyers. If SY exhausts all other avenues then this bolsters the Portuguese Police's theory. I believe they could be on their way back to Portugal before the year is out - emo3  are you a gambling man?

How does Operation Grange working off the basis that Maddie was abducted by child traffickers, tally with the statement continuously spouted by Gerry that there's 'no evidence she's come to any physical harm'?

Oh well that's told us then - Mark W.T has never had contact with them.   If one thing he has said is not true  how does anyone know if anything else is?
Will he be called upon in future by the tv companies to comment?
This friend has said that they wont be making an issue of it though as it's a free country and people can speculate (along those lines).

I have to wonder why that dossier was handed into the police then as it is  a free country and people can ask quesitons?

Didn't the dogs alert to cadaver in a flower bed at the bottom of the steps?

Maybe she was found there and carried back to the apartment, where cadaver was also alerted to?

So, Clarrie's back in employment.
First of all he's their spokesman.
Then he's "a source".
Next he's " a friend".
Who is not going to comment, but then goes on to comment, at length.
And they're not going to be falling out with MWT.
I bet they aren't, seeing as he's toed the party line, just in time!
One less to threaten with Carter-Ruck.
Which, is so obviously, what happened before they started filming.
We can assume then that This Morning just weren't willing to take the risk. The 5 minute segment was very strange, seeing as it was meant to be something else entirely before yesterday. Some other "unsolved mystery".

Who left in the uk, nay THE PLANET, still believes this nonsense!
What i would love to know now is exactly what it WAS that MWT was going to be saying today, before he was de-railed?
Just in the nick of time.

No, I don't gamble at all, not the Lottery, nothing.

I did have a 'sportsman's bet' with someone a month ago about something that would happen within the next 4 weeks (not McCann-related) and I won that one.

So - yes - a sportsman's bet...I say the McCanns will NOT be 'on their way back to Portugal' during 2017.

I may add that I called Operation Grange an expensive charade from Day One, when most people on the forum thought it really was a genuine search for the truth (!).

How very interesting!

In 2007, when Mark Wiliams-Thomas was spouting utter rubbish about the disappearances of Joana Cipriano and Madeleine McCann being very similar and possibly abducted by the same individuals etc., the McCanns said nothing!  And the girls' mother and uncle Leonor and Joao Cipriano were serving 16-year jail terms for her murder at the time.

Now they're saying he's a pretendy criminologist! - 10 years later!

Just what CMOMM has been saying for 7 years and 3 months...have you been reading our 'Mark Williams-Thomas Thread', Clarence?

Jeez, it’s taken three of them this time to deliver the Mirror article highlighted above.

Kate and Gerry McCann "baffled" after TV detective unveils "astonishing new theory" about Madeleine's disappearance on This Morning

Kate and Gerry McCann believe their daughter was snatched by burglars or child traffickers, but investigative reporter Mark Williams-Thomas has another possible explanation

snipped:

The McCanns' spokesman Clarence Mitchell hit back today, saying: “This is pure speculation and, as such, Kate and Gerry will not be dignifying it with any sort of comment whatsoever.”

So where has the ‘baffled’ quote come from then Clarence?

Another of your ‘pretendy’ ones, dreamed up over tea and cakes with Tracey?

O/T, but have we perchance discovered a new journalistic law?

McCann’s Law

‘The level of nonsense spouted by the MSM is directly proportional to the number of journalists putting their name to the by-line.’

‘Inversely proportional’ sounded better and logically should be the case, but is clearly not right, as that would mean the level of nonsense would decline as the amount of journalists went up.

The Madeleine McCann case always generates strong views & divides so many . The very sad reality is that I cannot see it ever being solved.

I don't think he'll  be too bothered judging by past atttudes.

This from the Daily Mail 23 Feb 2014

QUOTE:

"Former Liberal Democrat leader David Steel put Sir Cyril Smith forward for a knighthood - despite being told of the abuse allegations against him, it has been revealed.

The politician, now Lord Steel, was made aware of the reports that Smith had sexually abused young boys in his hometown of Rochdale, Lancashire, in 1979.

But his office dismissed the allegations - claiming: 'All he seems to have done is spanked a few bare bottoms'."

END OF QUOTE.

"But they're ( Kate and Gerry ) not going to fall out with him over this . It's all based on speculation and it's a free country "

Excuse me while I P.. myself laughing      spit coffee. They fall out with everyone else who doesn't shout " abduction " !!!

It's a free country , really ? Really ?
