LES BALKWELL APPPOINTS A NEW LEGAL TEAM - and there's a new documentary about the death of Lee Balkwell
MEDIA UPDATE - 16 October 2016
Les Balkwell is delighted to announce that he has appointed a new legal team to represent him at the Disclosure Hearing in the High Court next Thursday, 20 October at the High Court. The team has recognised the serious issues at stake in the case of the killing of Lee Balkwell and has stepped in to help him in the crucial final stages of his epic legal battle. Up to now he has not been able to afford legal representation and was unable to get Legal Aid.
Les will be giving further details of this to interested media reporters next week. Please stay in contact with him for further details.
He wishes to remind you that the hearing is at 10.00am at Room E111 or E116, Royal Courts of Justice, The Strand, High Court at 10.00am on Thursday 20 October. The hearing is in public.
The application is for disclosure of documents which Les states are essential to his case. Essex Police have refused to disclose any of them. A list of the documents he has asked for is attached for information.
After a court battle which has so far lasted nearly 4 years, Les - who until a few days ago was not legally represented - obtained a formal admission from Essex Police that they had breached the Human Rights Act by failing to conduct an effective investigation into his son's death. A 3-day final hearing beginning on 14 November will detemine the amount of compensation.
Further Enquiries: Les Balkwell 07925 999607 or 01708 446850

Death/Murder of Lee Balkwell
Hi Mr Bennett, congratulations on producing the above Video appertaining to the Mysterious Death of Mr Lee Balkwell and the ensuing Police cover Up by Essex Police, with regard to their failures to properly investigate this Death?
Heart felt sympathies to Mr Les Balkwell and his immediate family and friends on his Son's Death,it is quite disgusting behaviour for so many people to behave in the manner of which they have in this as yet unsolved death/Murder?
I can only hope that you have the proper and correct answers that are applicable to so many unanswered questions on the"Evidence"that was supposed to have been investigated by Essex Police Force?
No amount of Money can compensate for what Mr Les Balkwell has suffered even If on the Police failings alone, He(Les)has seen the workings of the"Establishment"obfuscate from their ultimate responsibilities to uncover the Truth into his Son's tragic Death,Why?
I hope you successful outcome at the Trail on 20 October 2016.
First and foremost I am not stating that Lee Balkwell's Employer was is involved in illegal activities at the time of Lees Death, but If your Employer has a murky past and it relates to"Firearms and Drugs charges",these are not Minor incidents,is this a reason not to properly investigate the Death,as to what they could uncover?

Re: LES BALKWELL APPPOINTS A NEW LEGAL TEAM - and there's a new documentary about the death of Lee Balkwell
Because many senior corrupt police officers in Essex and the Met Police are in total collusion with major drugs criminals. They both profit from this unholy alliance and neither side wants to disturb this lucrative trade.willowthewisp wrote: He (Les) has seen the workings of the "Establishment" obfuscate from their ultimate responsibilities to uncover the Truth into his Son's tragic Death, Why?

20th October 2016.
Later today, a disclosure hearing at the High Court will rule whether documents that have never been released can be made public.
The two-hour hearing is to determine an application to Essex Police to disclose vital documents which are essential to the case of proving whether Essex Police failed to properly investigate his son’s killing.
Personal notebooks of senior officers investigating the case, photographs taken at the scene and email exchanges between the police and pathologists are just a few of the vast documents being requested to be released.
------------------------------------------------------
Do you know the 'outcome' of the hearing/ruling (yesterday) about the documents 'release'?

Les Balkwell has supplied me with an account of the Hearing at the High Court before Master Eastman on Thursday 20 October. I was not able to be present.
The Hearing had been listed early at 10.00 in anticipation of a 2-hour hearing. Court time is normally from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
HEARING ADJOURNED
Two days before the Court hearing, due to listing pressures, a Senior Clerk at the High Court decided to re-list the hearing for 3.30pm.
When the parties went into Master Eastman’s court and explained that Les Balkwell’s fight to have access to documents was going to be bitterly contested by Essex Police, he immediately apologised that the hearing had been put back from 10.00 to 3,30pm but said it was too late to proceed with the hearing and there would have to be another date fixed.
Those now representing Les Balkwell and Essex Police were left with the task of arranging a mutually convenient date, probably next month.
This most unfortunate turn of events has had a knock-on effect on the date of the final trial, which was to have taken place from 14 to 17 November. Judge Eastman indicated that until the Disclosure application could be heard, and until Les Balkwell and his new representatives had had a chance to see any documents, the date for the trial could not be listed and was now likely to take place in January or February.
Les Balkwell accepts the apology of Master Eastman but is understandably frustrated at the extra delay.
Master Eastman also said that he would now withdraw from the case and ask the trial judge to take over and adjudicate at the forthcoming Disclosure Hearing.
MASTER EASTMAN'S DECISIONS
Les Balkwell would therefore like to put on record his thanks to Master Eastman for his assistance.
Back in 2015, Master Eastman refused Essex Police’s application to ‘Strike Out’ Les Balkwell’s application on the grounds that he had not made it within the 1-year time limit allowed under the Human Rights Act. However, Judge Eastman felt able to extend that time limit for an amazing 9 years for the very good reason that Les Balkwell had not in the first instance gone down the route of claiming compensation, but had done the correct thing by making a complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). As he had applied for compensation within 1 year of the final ruling of the IPCC, Master Eastman felt fully justified in extending the time-limit. Essex Police did not appeal his ruling.
Second, in a previous Hearing, Master Eastman ruled that because of the exceptional nature of Les Balkwell’s claim. e.g. its complexity, the length of time since Lee Balkwell was killed, the importance of the issues involved, its general public importance and the likely level of compensation, the case should be tried by a top-level i.e. Category A High Court Judge.
LES BALKWELL NOW REPRESENTED BY KIRSTY BRIMELOW Q.C.
Just before the Hearing, Les Balkwell was able to announce that he was now represented by Kirsty Brimelow Q.C., a leading Human Rights barrister with Dought Street Barristers’ Chambers.
Also significant was that journalist Michael Gillard attended the Hearing as an observing member of the public. Gillard is best known for his investigative journalism covering major criminality and.the assistance provided to criminal by senior corrupt police officers, especially in the Met Police and Essex Constabularies. He also wrote (with Laurie Flynn) “The Untouchables”, a massive 783-page volume on police corruption, and had to flee to France for is life two years ago after his articles for the Times and Sunday Times exposed a major drugs criminal and his relationships with corrupt police officers.
NOTE: I dealt with Michael Gillard’s work and its connections with both the Lee Balkwell killing and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in an article I wrote for CMOMM on 6 July last year, here:
