I'd rather have Theresa May anyday than an oafishly self-styled Johnson who hoodwinks at every turn. Is he being serious we ask? Is he fun when he engages with the media we ask? Is he being the quintessential eccentric Brit we ask? is he a serious politician...well we didn't need to ask that because he baled out after exhaling a lot of wind to no doubt change his image to bring himself forward at the next election - the new improved Boris Johnson.

Give Theresa May a chance.

Yes Miss big grin

Let's hope the 30 odd rebel Tory MPs listen to you aquila.  With a majority of only 12 she's going to have to do a lot of deals, but as has already been said we have no choice but to give her a chance -  I will because I know she is going to the very best she can for us the under priviliged who have not been treated at all well under the last PM.  She was happy to serve under him and even stick with him in his quest to Remain in EU.  big grin

Theresa May is now our (not mine - I've disowned her) new Prime Minister, poised outside No. 10, she vows to be 'a one nation PM'.  First look I thought it said 'a one notion PM' - understandable mistake I'm sure most will agree.

Don't know if in parliamentary speak that equates to doing a U-turn but time will tell - or not as the case maybe.

Just because she's a PM it doesn't entitle her to special privileges or diplomatic immunity.

Theresa May has been happy to be in the background. She hasn't courted the limelight.

Over the last couple of days I have seen and heard a lot more of her.

Must say she's beginning to grow on me.

Let's face it, who is there in opposition to guide the country through the changes and troubled times?
I believe in supporting and giving anyone a chance when they're new to the task.

It seems, from someone who knew her as a child, that she was well behaved, educated mainly in State schools.
No one has said a bad word about her.
Time and time again she has been described as hard working.
Yes, I am hopeful.

oops I stand corrected  Yes Madame big grin

Glad to see you have seen the light verdi.

At least she has put David Davis in as Secretary of State for leaving EU.

Boris as Foreign Sec.   oh err that will put a few of Camerun's pals noses out of joint.

Keep one side happy at the cost of making others unhappy.

Never mind if it all goes wrong there are 3 brexiteers with the good jobs, Bo Jo, David D. and Fox.  They can take the blame ha ha.

Liam Fox, so much for change.   A  former minister who had to resign back in her Government.   A lot of people wont like that either I am guessing.   Of all the new blood and she chose him.   Couldn't make it up.

I am going to put a tenner on that she wont be in post in six months time.

So, farewell then, David Cameron.

Here is a 6-minute vid produced by the BBC of Cameron's final Question Time today - some really good laughs...

I'm still toying with the possibility of a general election on the horizon.  Brexit has not only created disharmony within the Tory party - the whole government structure has been weakened by the result of the referendum, how can they continue to function effectively (snort!) with so much inter-party dissension?

Nothing short of chaos - they're all blustering at present!

Re: THERESA MAY IS OUR NEW PRIME MINISTER

I have to say I am totally amazed at TM appointing three Brexiteers!

David Davis as Brexit Secretary,  Liam Fox as Secretary of State for International Trade and Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary (ok I know but I am prepared to see what it is he can do, if anything - who knows he may be able to cope as long as he has a sheet to read from).

At first I was thrilled and thought we could stop worrying about the possibility that TM would do a U turn and take us back into the EU via a convenient back door - a new Referendum as the Remainers want.

But it has a faint odour of something not being quite right.

I do agree that it is possible this Government under TM wont last very long.

I am just trying to work out what the end game is going to be.

Article 50 is still scheduled for the end of this year.

It's not looking good.

Theresa May. brief part of her overall speech. Impressive. I was a skeptic but now am hopeful.

Theresa May, pre-vote/campaign message, seems sincere re leaving EU

I found this is really informative and re-assuring.
At the moment I think Theresa May will be good.

If May keeps 'pervert boy' ('I love my wife and christian family 'values'') Crabb, what will 'that' say, about May's 'judgement'?

Many thanks for the links - I re-iterate that I was hopeful when I heard the appointments but thinking about it - it could be as has been suggested by another on here that if this "gang of three" fails in any way it could affect our exit IMO.

Yes indeed - when I saw him first on a QT programme I didn't like him at all and that was before some of his past came to light. I think he should be shoved out somewhere on his own. I certainly would not associate myself with likes of him.

update: 'Pervert Boy' is OUT!

He 'claims' (well he would say that, wouldn't he?) HE 'resigned', and was not 'sacked',................'in the best interests of my FAMILY'! (Unbelievable!)

So now just a 'pervert boy' WITHOUT a government top 'job'!

high5

STILL an 'mp' though! sad1

Mrs Crab: 'What you doing, hubby?'

Mr Crab 'Just sexting a twenty something years old, wifey, it's in your best interest'

Mrs Crab: Hmmm.

It will come as 'no surprise' that 'pervert boy' voted AGAINST a 'recall of an MP' if caught 'misbehaving'!
