This sentence appeared in a Daily Mail article just two weeks ago:

"One report claimed there were ‘over 150 complaints of gross indecency against Clement Freud’, but ‘each one was an individual, so they were unable to take it any further’.

Various police forces had opportunities to prosecute Sir Jimmy Savile for his sexual crimes against children, but forces right at the top of the British establishment intervened to terminate police inquiries.

"Each complaint against Clement Freud was an individual, so they were unable to take it any further" sounds like a very weak argument indeed for a police force deciding to do nothing about Freud.

The Liberal Party doesn't come out too well out of this, either. Sir Clement Freud and Sir Cyril Smith sharing the same office for years...I wonder what they talked about over morning coffee?

Nor does the Queen and those who advise her over who to make a 'Knight of the Realm':

It didn't say who the 'friend' of the McCann's parents is (perhaps it says in this thread) but this does increase the possibilities of the
McCann-paedophille scenario - as the saying goes - 'birds of a feather flock together'.

It's also a very strange thing for a 'friend' of the Mccann's to pop up and start speaking publicly about this, don't you think.... ?
What is their motivation?

Sorry, can't give a link but in today's Daily Mail, front page, it refers to Lady Freud having an affair with writer Will Self's brother Jonathon. He was 16 and she was 47.
I will add no more!!!

And so Freud promoted his notorious Oedipus complex instead.

As recently as 1981, his descendant Anna Freud wrote: “Keeping up his ‘seduction theory’ would mean him abandoning his Oedipus complex”.

Freud was quite mad and would certainly have been struck off for some of his medical conduct. Possibly the most notorious and laughable episodes during his ill-fated medical practice was the case of Emma Eckstein.

She went to see Freud. She was a radical feminist (rare in those times) who told Fraud she had an ‘autoerotic problem’ and was currently suffering from ‘bloody secretions from the nose’. Freud consulted his colleague Wilhelm Fliess, an ear, nose and throat specialist with a crank obsession with numerology...he thought that by numerology he could predict the date of a person’s death. In short, like Freud, Fliess was a quack. Freud later admitted to a homosexual ‘crush’ on Fliess, with whom he collaborate for many years.

Fliess’s diagnosis of Eckstein has to rank as one of the all-time worst cases of medical misdiagnosis and malpractice. Fliess advised that the cure would be to remove the turbinate bone in her nose. On top of an absurd diagnosis, Fliess then left a long strip of gauze packin up her nose, within the incision, and Eckstein developed a serious post-op infection and nearly died. Both doctors were lucky not to be sued for medical malpractice.

Freud later told Eckstein that her post-op infection was ‘a psychosomatic reaction’ and therefore her fault. He diagnosed ‘hysteria motivated by an unconscious longing to bleed. The bleeding was an unconscious desire for Freud’ attention caused by her own unfiled sxual dsires.

He wrote to one friend “She positively liked to bleed, so the symptoms allowed her to demonstrate her various ailments to be real...this gave her claim to the affections of others.

Anna Freud omitted the above incident and also omitted Freud’s craven abandonment of his ‘earlier ‘seduction theory’ in her biography of her grandfather.

Freud was a lifelong smoker, inhaling 20 cigars a day, and not surprisingly developed cancer of the jaw at the age of 67. For his last 16 years he had to endure surgical scraping, iodine and X-ray treatments. Finally part of his jaw crumbled and was removed and he had to wear a prosthesis. In order to smoke, he was forced to use a clothespin to hold the cigar in what was left of his mouth.

His life ended in a doctor-assisted suicide when he asked his doctor for a lethal injection of morphine on 23 September 1939.
