Yes me too "tellusanother1. She's been not guilty of murder or manslaughter - but guilty of lying to LE.

Doesnt' give us much hope with the Mccanns does it? If even with the evidence in the US court they can come out with this verdict, although to be honest Madeleine's case won't even get to court. the so called impartial British Police will squash it and say there is no case to answer (I hope I am wrong though)!

I've not been following this case and only knew that the Mother took some ridiculous amount of time to report her own daughter missing and that cadaver dogs alerted to the boot of her car. Does anyone know why the evidence was not compelling? Did they ever find a body?

They found her body but it was just a skeleton that had been submerged in water in a swamp so no DNA was found. The defense spun it that the mother knew the child was dead as she had drowned in the family pool accidentally and that her father made her hide the body.

The jury went with it, (even though the mother had searched chloroform and neck-breaking on her computer and traces of choloroform were found in her car boot where cadaver odour was smelt) and found her not guilty of anything more than lying to the Police.

The skeleton also had duct tape (which was from the mothers home) across the nose and mouth of the skull and the coroner Doctor G had ruled her death a homicide.

It made me really mad this morning when GMTV announced this news. They have refused to cover the case up until now, but just because she got off, they could not wait to announce it.

Perhaps no one was more shocked that Florida mother Casey Anthony was found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter than Nancy Grace.

Narrating the denouement of 33-day trial, Grace said that she was more stunned by the outcome of the case than when O.J. Simpson was found not guilty of murdering his ex-wife and a friend in 1995. The body of Anthony's daughter, Caylee, was discovered in woods near her family's home in December 2008. Anthony's defense team alleged that Caylee had drowned.

Grace railed against the 25-year-old Anthony, whom she nicknamed "Tot Mom." "It's tough when you think about Caylee and you think about this evidence and you think about all those days that Tot Mom went about partying as if Caylee had never existed," she said. Grace added, "the devil is dancing tonight."

Grace also said that Anthony, who once faced the death penalty but now may walk free, stood to profit greatly from her case with a "big fat book deal" or a "made for TV movie" but would "run right through" any dividends.

Had she been convicted of her daughter's murder, Anthony faced the death penalty. She will be sentenced Thursday on charges of lying to law enforcement.

Not much different from the McCanns then who were made arguidos in the death and concealment of their daughter's body, who then went on to milk the public for donations and make more millions from a book deal. Seems to me that kids are the answers to their parents financial problems. Just get rid of them and make lots of money. Simples.

Casey Anthony, the woman cleared of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee, has been sentenced to four years in prison for lying to police during their investigation.


Anthony has already served three years in prison, which will be taken into account


But the Florida trial judge said she would gain credit for the three years she has already served in prison, and suggested she could be released by the end of July or in early August.

Judge Perry said her lies to investigators when they were trying to find out what had happened to Caylee meant they spent a great deal of time, energy and man power on what were essentially wild goose chases.

Casey Anthony told police that she worked at a Universal Studios theme park when she did not.

She also said that she had left Caylee with a fictional nanny, that she had received a phone call from her, and that Caylee was with friends.

The 25-year-old was dramatically acquitted of killing her daughter on Tuesday.

Caylee disappeared in June 2008, and her skeletal remains were discovered months later in woodland after the toddler's Grandmother reported her missing.

The defence argued that Caylee had accidentally drowned in a pool, and her death was covered up by a panicked and grieving mother.

The prosecution claimed that Casey drugged her child with chloroform and suffocated her with duct tape before dumping the body.

They alleged it was because Caylee got in the way of her mother's carefree lifestyle.

There were concerns about Casey's safety upon release because the case was so high-profile.

It is not immediately clear where she will live.

She is estranged from her parents George and Cindy, having accused George during the trial of abusing her during childhood.

It seems in this case they truly found a jury of Casey's peers: lying POS that just wanted to go home and cash in. One is askiking 50,000, another a trip to Disneyland for her whole family, for interviews. At least 3 had a rap sheet. The few comments we've heard till now don't really show that great insight. The fact that it was such a hard decision, according to them, is contradicted by the fact they only deliberated less than 24h (that included nap time), never asked for any readbacks or clarification, and never asked to see any of the more than 300 pieces of evidence.

Their argument was since the cause of death could not definitively be determined, they felt that the manner of death, that was officially ruled "homicide" by Dr G the medical examiner in this case, could maybe have been an accident after all. Seems they listened more to the now clearly demented once a good pathologist Spitz (he even got lost in the sentence about manners of death so bad was his short term memory) and a drunk narcissistic grief counselor and more of the strange zoo the defense had passing by.

Others say the OJ fear factor played a role: a defendant get so much attention in the media they are afraid to convict and make a mistake.

I have to say from all the lawyers, medical doctors and forensic experts I have spoken in the past 3 years nobody expected a complete acquittal, for murder that is, many are really shocked.

A mother cleared of killing her two-year-old daughter in America has been released from prison three years and a day after she was first arrested.

TV crews and protesters gathered to see Casey Anthony walk free from the Orange County jail in Florida in the early hours of this morning.

She was cleared of the murder and child neglect of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, 12 days ago.

But jurors did find her guilty of misleading the police.

Hundreds of people had been waiting since Saturday afternoon for Anthony's release, and many rushed into the street trying to follow the car as she was driven away.

Since her acquittal, Anthony's future has been the subject of much speculation, but with no publicly known facts beyond her jail departure date.

Lori Richards, 54, of Daytona Beach and three friends joined the protests.

"We're here to support Caylee and we want them (the public) to boycott anything Casey or any of the Anthonys do," she said.

Due to the high profile case, prison officials and media representatives negotiated a plan which allowed pool reporters and photographers to document her departure from inside the jail.

Anthony's trial revealed gruesome details of Caylee's death and the disposal of the toddler's remains in rubbish bags in swampy woods.

The trial saw evidence of Casey Anthony relishing her life, partying and shopping, after Caylee died.

Her parents and brother had testified at the trial.

Casey Anthony's lawyer Jose Baez acknowledged her outward lack of emotion over the death was "bizarre."

Her acquittal was met with shock and derision by much of the public.

What is the message here
1.You can kill your child
2.For a childs life you only get a short holiday in prison
3.A parent who murders there child is more special than the dead child
4.ITS easy to kill your child in America
5 Know one cares about the child
6 ITS not a serious crime
7 IF you murder your child you can get rich

9 IF you think your child is rubbish kill her

The jury is a bunch of incompetent nutters. Casey Anthony is guilty as hell.
There is no way to explain away the duct tape over Caylee's mouth if she was drowned.

CA will live a life persecuted in the public eyes.
The dark cloud hovering over her head will follow her everywhere - there is no hiding place for her.

Like OJ she will end up in jail. These sociopaths will get into another problem, especially after such a "lucky" verdict. Let's just hope that the second time it does not involve a child, or a life in general.

My perception will never change. she didn't report her daughter missing for 30 days! That tells me all I need to know!

More than five years after a jury in Florida cleared Casey Anthony in the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, a private investigator claimed the mom's attorney admitted she killed the girl and hid her body.
 
Dominic Casey made the claim in court documents that went public last month in Casey Anthony's bankruptcy case. He also suggested that the mom paid her lawyer with sex.
 
The investigator claimed attorney Jose Baez hired him days after police arrested the mom in July 2008. He said, "Baez had told me that Casey had murdered Caylee and dumped the body somewhere and, he needed all the help he could get to find the body before anyone else did."
 
Meter reader Roy Kronk found the girl's body in the woods near her grandparents' home that December. Dominic Casey also said that before the remains were discovered, Casey Anthony allowed her legal team to try framing Kronk, "to portray him as a murderer and or kidnapper of Caylee Anthony."
 
The investigator said he quit the legal team in October 2008.
 
Casey Anthony was convicted of lying to police but acquitted of murder. She filed for bankruptcy in 2013.
 
Dominic Casey claimed, in addition, that the defendant and her attorney were having sex because she couldn't pay him. "I arrived at Baez’s office unexpectedly one day and once again, witnessed a naked Casey. This time she ran from his private office, through the conference room to the hallway. That night I told her that she cannot allow him to continue engaging in this behavior. Casey told me she had to do what Jose said because she had no money for her defense."
 
There was no immediate response from Baez or the Anthony family.

I would love to ask the jurors WHY a loving parent wouldn't report their child's accidental death IMMEDIATELY?

I wonder if there will be a re-trail-Double Jeopardy?
I think the Mother needs to at least be taken to a safe place for a medical assessment for her own protection over this serious matter
of how Casey has tried to escape her role in the death of her two year old daughter Caylee.
