The timeline and what people have said. The timeline and what people have said was covered in "When Madeleine Died?" - I hope he has looked at the film. It's a bit worrying that the article says he has already written the book. Has GA emailed Martin Smith, like I did, in order to ask more questions in order to further explore the Smiths claims? Has GA explored what seem to be false claims of a visit to Sagres and whether all the Sagres claims are bogus? Has he examined the "last photo" and the weather reports of that day? Has he seen the news articles featuring the nannies where their media statements contradict their police statements? The stories that appeared in the UK media in 2007 need to be part of any new investigation, because they show how the media were used in the cover up. By looking at how they twisted the truth sheds light on what they were worried about and what they were diverting from. I hope GA has read translations of all the UK media reports. Has he got an explanation for the stark change in the McCann's protocol after 29th April? - Eating all their daytime meals in their room and ignoring their friends. Has he got an explanation as to WHY one of the Tapas group booked a table in the Tapas restaurant from 29th, and specifically stated they did not want any child care and specifically stated they would be checking the children themselves.
GA has no doubt that Madeleine died, the big questions are when and how, and why was it covered up. I hope he addresses these points by considering ALL the available evidence.

I concur, Pendragon. They have turned this country into a Stasi-like state. That they have used public donations to achieve a nine year stranglehold on freedom of speech is a scandal in itself.pendragon2007 wrote:At the moment I feel they kinda deserve exactly what they're getting. I would like to think that those who have been supporting them under the "cloak of invisibility" will also become exposed and suffer the same fate.Mirage wrote:Sounds like the seething couple could do with a visit from the soothing couple.
I reckon McCann delivered a hammer blow to TM when he started sabre rattling at Cameron about implementing Leveson 2. Many have said their arrogance will be their downfall. That, and unbridled greed IMO.
The public are sick of the sight of them and TPTB must be panicking and casting around for an exit strategy. Burying bad news of the election expenses scandal springs to mind.
The Mcs should have thanked their lucky stars they weren't banged up. But from the moment they fled PT and gave that Expresso interview they started to get too big for their boots. Most people can't stand the smirking from that guy.
The only time that inane grin was wiped off his face was in that Portimao police station when he was declared arguido.

Re: "Fresh agony for the McCanns"
I would just like to add my recommendation to watch the Richard D Hall films of "When Madeleine Died" There are no claims of big theories just timelines of the known facts presented in a fashion that helps to reduce the amount of confusion. I recommend watching the whole series of his Madeleine McCann films if you want to get a clear step by step knowledge of the known facts from day one. What is particularly noted is that if you should find an error anywhere in the films Richard gives the opportunity, on his site, to notify and describe it and it is then displayed for all to see. Now you won't get that in the Mainstream Media.Richard D. Hall wrote:Quote, “I have written another book, examining the timeline and what people have said, and I am looking to publish that. "

Re: "Fresh agony for the McCanns"
What I think would be really helpful in respect of a reconstruction would be if someone were to construct a video of the May 3 rd evening timeline, correlating all the evidence from all the witness statements. From there it should be obvious whether or not there was even the possibility of an abduction.

Re: "Fresh agony for the McCanns"
Ok. I meant a timeline which includes not just the tapas group, but also
1) others arriving and leaving the tapas
2) Jez Wilkins meeting Gerry and then walking back to his apartment.
3) Tannerman (who himself could have seen any abductor)
4) People moving or parking their cars outside the Ocean Club
5) People driving along the road (someone saw a woman in purple standing outside the apartments)
6) What people could observe from balconies (one girl went out for a cigarette, she could see Gerry and Jez talking but did not see anyone else)
7) The Smith family
8) Anyone using the carpark outside the apartments
9) Anyone entering or leaving the apartment blocks
10) Where the three suspected burglars were
Etc.

from Aug 2008, and as pertinent today, as it always has been!
By David Brown.
A significant study into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has indicated that kidnapping would be inconsistent with the evidence.
Paulo Sargento, a criminal psychologist at Lusófona University in Libson, has produced a 3D reconstruction of events at the Ocean Club on the evening Madeleine disappeared.
He used minute-by-minute breakdowns of events published in The Times, the respected Portuguese newspapers Público and Sol and the BBC to test all hypotheses put forward by the Portuguese authorities.
Dr Sargento cross-checked times and events from the moment that Kate and Gerry McCann went to pick up their children from the resort’s kindergarten at 4pm, until 10pm, when Mrs McCann reported that Madeleine was missing from their apartment.
He found that from the moment when the McCanns arrived at the tapas restaurant at 8pm, seven people in their party got up a total of 14 times in two hours.
Dr Sargento told SIC television: “There were people passing almost every five minutes. The question is how, in that time, could it be possible with so many people coming and going that no one saw someone coming in through the window without being seen? We have concluded this theory is very inconsistent.”
It is understood that the recreation will be made available to the Polícia Judiciária to assist them in creating a definitive timeline of events on the Ocean Club.

Three bold bungling Portuguese burglars who were not casing the joint too well.
I don't think so.

Didn't GA meet the Smiths when they came over to Portugal to help with e-fits and be interviewed about their sighting? It appears he found them to be credible witnesses. And it is a fact that TM suppressed the e-fits plus also were determined to morph Smith-man into Tanner-man. Which would suggest that - whether or not Smith-man actually existed - TM definitely didn't want him as a separate sighting. Presumably because this might implicate GM (or someone else involved?) And/or to take the heat off a 10pm occurrence and place the critical time-frame as being 9.15pm.
Has GA explored what seem to be false claims of a visit to Sagres and whether all the Sagres claims are bogus?
Sagres is a real mystery. The press reported that detectives thought the McCann family had been there on the Monday. Whereas there is no record of this in Kate's book or in any of the TM rogatories. What we do know, from Kate's book, is that there is no record of activities during the day on Monday. The suggestion being that after Sunday, the days fell into a familiar pattern of creche drop-offs, pick-ups, breakfast and lunch at the apartment and so on. However, after Sunday the McCanns deviated from the routine of their friends. Which I think is a huge red flag. So Sunday is a 'key' day, imo.
Has he examined the "last photo" and the weather reports of that day?
He must have done, surely? The photographs are a key to understanding what may have happened, imo. Apart from anything, the water in the pools was reported as 'freezing' so the photo is unconvincing - it would not have been comfortable to sit with legs hanging in the freezing water in that manner. And it was not hot enough for the need to seriously cool off. Plus where is the disgarded foot-wear?
Has he seen the news articles featuring the nannies where their media statements contradict their police statements?
That's interesting, although there are so many contradictions and inconsistencies in this case it's hard to keep up with them. But the nannies are obviously vital eye-witnesses and their testimony really should be cast-iron solid if this case was genuine (ahem!)
The stories that appeared in the UK media in 2007 need to be part of any new investigation, because they show how the media were used in the cover up. By looking at how they twisted the truth sheds light on what they were worried about and what they were diverting from. I hope GA has read translations of all the UK media reports.
Agreed. Good example being the media reports of the route that the early search and rescue dogs took are blatantly misleading. The media reported route would support the Tanner-man abduction theory with the abductor exiting the block from the nearest exit point and getting the hell out of there. The real route taken, as shown in the PJ files, was a route that would be entirely illogical for 'the abductor' to have taken. Circling around the entire block in an anti-clockwise direction then exiting into the nearby carpark. This would be an insane route to take and furthermore it does not support the Tanner-man sighting.
Has he got an explanation for the stark change in the McCann's protocol after 29th April? - Eating all their daytime meals in their room and ignoring their friends.
I think this is a huge red flag and strongly points to something having happened by Monday. Not necessarily death by Monday but something serious enough for the McCann family to hide away and not be seen 'en famille' at either breakfast or lunch. There was a need to confuse people's memories about when Madeleine might last have been seen.
Has he got an explanation as to WHY one of the Tapas group booked a table in the Tapas restaurant from 29th, and specifically stated they did not want any child care and specifically stated they would be checking the children themselves.
This is a good point. I presume partly to support the abduction story and to make sure that the 'abductor' could have seen the comment at reception and think: "Goody - I'll do a few dummy runs and then swoop later in the week once I have watched their checking routine." I have a theory that maybe TM got the nannies to do an informal checking arrangement and arranged for the 'abduction' to occur between checks. This would have the advantage of implicating Mark Warner and the nannies and thus ensuring co-operation from MW who would not want to be exposed as having put children at risk. Just an idea. TM love implicating other people and always go for the 'weak link'. MW had had some bad publicity about health and safety in relation to their childcare and would have been very sensitive to more bad publicity.
GA has no doubt that Madeleine died, the big questions are when and how, and why was it covered up. I hope he addresses these points by considering ALL the available evidence.
Agree he appears to have no doubt that she died that week. I think he thinks early evening on Thursday but I think she was dead by the time of David Paynes alleged visit to the McCann apartment late on Thursday afternoon - exact time varies I think depending on different versions of this story. David Payne's over-embellished account and the flowery and emotive language he uses strongly suggest to me that by late afternoon/early evening on Thursday Madeleine was already dead and had been 'laid out' in white, imo.
I think Kate became jealous at the quiz night lead by the curvaceous quiz host on Sunday which TM are extremely coy about. Tensions were running high. *Something* had happened by Monday morning which needed to be covered up. By Tuesday all of TM were falsifying their accounts, imo. Tuesday night prolonged crying was heard by neighbour Mrs Fenn. This was the night of the second quiz night when GM invited the quiz host to sit at his table. This move would have, imo, enraged Kate. Did she lash out in anger? Or had something happened to Madeleine on Sunday/Monday (DP - other Tapas male?) which lead to her crying out in anguish on Tuesday night. Kate was unable to console her and GM came back and lashed out in anger? Why was there so much collective amnesia over quiz night? This has to be sensitive.

Agreed - but their precious little daughter has never been very high up on the list of their priorities has she?
Ms Sophie Comfy: Hello and welcome Kate and Gerry on the eve of the ninth ainiversary of Madeleine's disappearance. Tell me, how have you been coping these past years.
Kate McCann: Err err, well you know err.. we haven't done anything wrong - it's the person that took a little girl from her family that's committed the crime - I ...
Gerry McCann: If I can just say - you don't mind if I call you Soph do you ;-) - there is no evidence to suggest we are implicated in her mu... disappearance or any evidence she has come to serious harm - she is still a findable little girl.
Kate McCann: whimper whimper - they said all those things about me but that's not what happened - I know cos I was there. She's luverly. You don't know how we've suffered cos of the things that f******* t***** has said about us.
Sophie Comfy: Yeh but but but...
Gerry McCann: If I can just say here Mad-e-lin was just under 4 when she was abducted, statistics show there is every possibility she is out there and has come to no serious harm. Many children have been found after being missing for years - there's no reason why this child still can't be found.
Sophie Comfy: But the accusations by the Portuguese police must have been devastating for you, tell us how did you feel.
Kate McCann: She's luverly..
Gerry McCann: The Portuguese police have no evidence to sugget we are involved in the girl's abduction.
Kate McCann: She's luverly..
Sophie Comfy: What about the dogs alerts, how did you feel when the damaging reports came out in the press about this? How did you feel it would impact the search for Madeleine?
Gerry McCann: Ask the dogs Sandra err .. Soph
Kate McCann: She's luverly - I know I was there.
Sophie Comfy: Well thank you Kate and Gerry for agreeing to this interview. Finally, what would be your message to Madeleine today?
Gerry McCann: Well obviously you know - that we miss her. All the time the cash is rolling in we will continue to beg people to look for her, we don't proactively search but there is plenty going on behind the scenes - like suing people who pretend to be searching. She's still missing, still missed, still looking, still a findable little girl.
Kate McCann: I go back twice a year for a private visit when I can - It's where I feel closest to her.
Sophie Comfy: Kate - do you have a special message to send Madeleine?
Kate McCann: Err...

Re: "Fresh agony for the McCanns"
More hurt for the McCanns as Portuguese cop writes SECOND book about Maddie's disappearance
Now they were eating Tapas on a Sun Terrace when Madeleine went missing.

THE parents of Madeleine McCann are preparing for more heartache after an ex-Portguese cop announced plans for a SECOND book about the case.
Goncalo Amaral is publishing a follow up to his 2008 book Truth of the Lie, in which he accused Kate and Gerry McCann of faking Maddie’s abduction to cover up her death.
The news is a devastating hammer blow for the couple who recently lost a libel case against Amaral.
Now he has told local media that he has written a second book which re-examines the timeline of Maddie’s disappearance on May 3, 2007.
She vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia de Luz while her family and friends ate tapas on a sun terrace.
In 2015 the McCanns were awarded £400,000 damages against Amaral when a Lisbon court found him guilty of libel.
He appealed and a court ruled in his favour last month.
The money – which was never paid due to the appeal – had been intended to be ploughed into the ‘Find Maddie’ fund.
A judge issued an injunction against further publication or sales of the book at that time, but the Court of Appeal in Lisbon overturned the ban in 2010.
Amaral has already stated his intention to republish his first book and is seeking a publisher for his second.
His first tome made £286,000 on its first release.
He has also hinted that he may sue the McCanns himself.
Tuesday will mark nine years to the day Maddie went missing as a four year old.
Next month would have been her thirteenth birthday

Has he got an explanation as to WHY one of the Tapas group booked a table in the Tapas restaurant from 29th, and specifically stated they did not want any child care and specifically stated they would be checking the children themselves. GA has no doubt that Madeleine died, the big questions are when and how, and why was it covered up. I hope he addresses these points by considering ALL the available evidence.

I don't think GA had anything to do with the e-fits. There is still some mystery over the e-fits. I asked Martin Smith a series of questions about the e-fits and he failed to answer any of them. We don't even know which person in the Smith family is responsible for each of the two e-fits. We don't know why they did two e-fits and not stick to just one. We don't know where they were done and who requested they do them. These are the questions GA could ask the Smiths in order to find out if there was any fabrication or manipulation involved in producing the e-fits. I believe Brian Kennedy was involved in the e-fits. Martin Smith was quick to contact me over his association with Robert Murat, but went silent when I asked him some very simple questions about the e-fits. To my knowledge the Smiths have not done interviews on camera - only in newspapers. So I am suggesting that GA investigate the Smiths claims further than he already did, in light of what has happened after he interviewed them.

@RDH
You state that Mr Smith didn't answer your (simple) questions, why should he? As far as he is concerned you have no more authority to demand answers than Joe Bloggs. You also state GA should ask them certain questions again he is a private citizen the Smiths again have no need to answer. If I was Mr Smith I wouldn't be answering questions from any Tony, Dick or Harry either.

By the same hypothesis, why should Mr. Smith have answered questions from any party. Did the people who he did proffer answers to have any more authority than Mr. Hall or Mr. AmaralHKP wrote:@RDH

Re: "Fresh agony for the McCanns"
Well unfortunately for all of us here Mr Smith is at liberty to decide if he wants to speak to RDH or GA but please bear in mind there is an ongoing investigation (so we're told) therefore he may have been told that he can't comment.

Did the McCanns not also threaten to sue anyone who discussed the report produced by Henry Exton (which included the efits) ?

Re: "Fresh agony for the McCanns"
If you are referring to the so called investigation by the UK authorities, they would have no authority whatsoever to dictate as to who Mr. Smith could, or could not speak to, if for no other reason, the case is not within their jurisdiction.
Any enquiries the British police make regarding this matter can only be conducted with the mutual consent and co-operation of the relevant parties concerned.
