"The Three Burglars" - A list of reasons why Operation Grange and the government can't be allowed to wrap up the Madeleine McCann case by pinning this on Jose Carlos da Silva, Ricardo Rodrigues & Paulo Riberio

Post by Tony Bennett on 29.04.16 8:05

OK, I am starting off this thread with eight questions. I hope members here will add to my list:

-----------

1. Why would a team of three burglars raid that particular apartment, with the McCann and their friends regularly checking it?

2. Why did no-one else see or hear this team of burglars raiding the apartment and carrying away a child who – if she woke up and ‘disturbed’ the burglars – was presumably awake, struggling and probably screaming?

3. Does Scotland Yard have any forensic evidence whatsoever from the McCanns’ apartment linking any of these three men to their alleged presence in that apartment that night? – No forensic evidence of an intruder has ever been found

4. Did these alleged burglars actually steal anything from the apartment? The McCanns said nothing was missing from their apartment apart from Madeleine

5. Why on earth would any burglar, raiding an apartment which was in the dark, carry away a three-year-old child who woke up, instead of just making haste and making off?

6. Does the description of any of the three men match the man who was DCI Andy Redwood’s chief suspect – and ‘the centre of our focus’ - on the BBC Crimewatch McCann Special transmitted on 14 October 2013?

7. What other evidence is there of the alleged activity of these three men on the night in question, apart from their making ’phone calls to each other?

8. Is it seriously claimed by Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, other senior officers of the Met, and the entire Operation Grange team, that the Portuguese Police have been furnished by Operation Grange with overwhelming evidence of the guilt of these three Portuguese men’s guilt, and yet have failed to bring charges against them?  Is it not far, far more likely that the Portuguese Police can see this for what it really is - an utterly pathetic bogus claim and boast by Scotland Yard that they have ‘found’ those responsible for Madeleine’s disappearance - and are seeking, as they have done throughout, to blame the Portuguese authorities for the failure to identify the person or persons really responsible.

9. And how can a drug addict and a young boy keep quiet about the crime of 2000 decade for 9 years?

AFAIK they haven't.  I think The Sun article read something like - an officer said.

What sort of officer?   Could it have been a monitoring officer or a PR officer.   I don't think that was made clear in the article.

I find it hard to believe that a police officer would be speaking to The Sun at this stage.

I have a question though - if the police do believe that these three burglars are involved but cannot re-interview them because Pt. police will not allow it - is it possible for Maddie's parents to  write a letter to the Pt. police demanding that they be re-interviewed if SY think it is a real possibility?

I think I would be kicking up one hell of a storm if I had read/been told/knew that this is the case.

10. Given the very localised nature of this supposed burglar activity, whose decision was it not to air the Crimewatch programme in Portugal?

Exactly, people in UK and Germany would be of no use in ringing up and giving info.

Sometimes I truly, truly, cannot believe what I see and read.

You're quite right in saying that SY have not officially commented on this.

At the bottom of The Sun article it states :-

Scotland Yard refused to discuss the final line of inquiry for operational purposes.
A spokesman said: "There is no comment while there is an on-going investigation."

Hi Plebgate. I sometimes wonder why the establishment ever allowed people to go into secondary and tertiary education, only to feed them this utterly unbelievable tripe. It really has become a nasty sick joke and a massive insult to the intelligence.

If you look across the internet you will see the Met's reputation is in freefall over this. All the world is watching and collectively scratching its head. Just look at the different nationalities on various live traffic feeds. It's payback time of sorts, because the much traduced ORIGINAL Portuguese investigation is growing in stature as the Met take on the mantle of bungling cops.

OG and its ridiculous strutting and whiff of superiority over Johnny Foreigner, has become a cornucopia of comedy for which script writers of the future must be ecstatic. It will trump 'Yes Minister' by a country mile.

11. How could this be a bungled burglary if the accused were supposedly scouting the apartment in the day (s) before, and had full knowledge that there were children, and which room they'd likely be in?

12. Why would burglars go into the children's room in the first place? The door was supposedly left slightly open (allowing an intruder to peek in). Anything of value, such as the camera which was left like a prop right in full view, would make much more sense, as well as raiding the parents' bedroom for valuables.

13. The content of the texts, if still available, must be examined to confirm this theory before any charges are placed. Without this the texts are purely circumstancial.

Slightly echoing some of Tony's questions here but with different emphasis.

14  How they gonna explain the dogs Eddie and Keela? Did these new "suspects" arrange with McCanns to store the body in the cupboard until they sobered up enough to move it? If not, what was it the dogs discovered?

This is my edit of an existing Portuguese map of the apartment. I don't know how to phrase this in a question adequately, but the point of it is, if the door was left slightly ajar as the myth goes, this is the line of sight of anyone peeking in. They'd see the cots/twins. Knowing it's the children's room, surely they'd not go further. Add to this the fact Madeleine's bed is not only out of sight for 'them', but also she'd have no view of them unless she was physically up (which I suppose will be the line).

I'm not sure I understand your point there April28th because eyes can move from left to right as can a neck. A burglar surely wouldn't open a door and only look directly ahead.

The door opened against the wall not Madeleine's bed.

Well I think if the door was ajar and they looked in, the first thing they'd see would be the twins. I don't think they'd take an extra step into the room (which they'd have to do) and look round at Madeleine's bed. It'd be more likely they'd just close the door.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the thread.

This comment left on the Sun's article about the burglars prompted another question. To whit:

"A minor point but what a great young lad this abductor was.... Made the bed after the struggle with Maddie! I can't get my teenage lads to make their own beds!"

15. So, the bed, OG. Have you got it covered? Or...erm,....uncovered?

So again in the 'window of opportunity ' that night we have :

1 apartment robber carrying Madeleine away from the apartment in her pyjamas. ( one of them must have ! )
1 creche daddy who decided to come forward after several years to confess that it was he who  was carrying his child in his/her pyjamas on that fateful night.
1 man spotted walking towards the sea carrying a pyjama clad child...........................though NOT dressed like a burglar ...............not in 'classic shoes' anyway.

That was some busy night in PDL. Amazing how none of the them bumped into each other .

Not forgetting that crecheman helpfully kept his child's pyjamas all down the years, just in case he could be helpful. Whilst signally failing to simply ring up the Met and say 'Guys, that was me coming back from the crèche erm... backwards.'

Why did Jane Tanner AGAIN not see these 'burglers' acting suspiciously in the area or the open shutters/window when she went to 'relieve' Russell ? Or for that matter why didn't Russell when he went back to the Tapas ?

There's plenty more where that came from. I'm just having difficulty keeping my powder dry - it's in several kegs in my basement presently!

Given up trying to keep up question numbering.

Why are the phone calls so important . OK 3 guys phone each other and leave their traces - fine. The McCanns phone people??? and delete calls and messages.  Who would you put top of the suspect list?

Photoshoot - Operation Grange investigates suspicious phone calls made on 3rd May 2007.

Why insist Madeleine is 'alive & findable' to the public whilst believing she was 'murdered' in a burglary gone wrong? (Since 2014?)

It's all contradictory!
