Tony Bennett has been, and continues to be very controversial, but regardless of that, I have always supported his effort against the McCanns, particularly when they were trying to have him imprisoned.

He was in contempt of court (resulting from lack of financial resources to be able to fight the most feared lawyers in Britain) and I spent the night before his trial making this video.

It was very emotional as I was doing it... We didn't know if Tony would be imprisoned, but he put himself out there and was willing to take the consequences.

This video tells more than just the story of Tony's court case. Please take the time to watch....and remember...regardless of anything, Tony represented US in his effort for the truth.

If it wasn't for Tony where would we be with this case?

It's all very well for people on another forum to discredit him, but would they have done what he's done? No, most definitely not. 

Tony is the most courageous of people I've ever known and he has spoken for all of us and paid the price.

Tony should get an award once this is finished.

A brave man, willing to stand up for a good cause no matter what the cost. Tony has my full respect. 

I don't post often but I have to say that Tony is a very brave man...  he has my complete admiration.

I was taught at uni that when confronted with a problem, if you keep asking questions eventually the answer will present itself. I've found this to be true and I think it's what TB is about.

Here is one of the latest tweets on Sonia Poulton's Twitter. This is Sonia Poulton, who is a 'social campaigner' and 'truth seeker'. The same Sonia Poulton who interviewed the loopy Stephen Birch, encouraged Rosalinde Hutton to do an interview on TPV and a disastrous Sun 'I'm a troll' expose.

Two so called freedom fighting women (Hutton and Poulton) who are against just about everything whilst seemingly all for everything at the same time - revolutionaries! (as long as it suits their cyber mawking behaviour) are seemingly dedicated to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann and seeking 'truth'. Add to that the girl power and inspirational quotes - Jeez, it's like stepping back into a very bad inspirational training course your company sent you on in the 1990's because they hadn't bothered to invest in your career and sent you on a pseudo-babble jolly to keep the troops happy. That 'fuzzy, loved-up feeling' abounds in Poulton and Hutton's tweets/blogs. 'Mwah', 'Hun' etc. I'm female and find it revolting.

What exactly has Sonia Poulton done to uncover what happened to Madeleine McCann? Some people have responded to Poulton's request for information. Oh dear, how silly those people are to imagine they are in the bosom (I'll be accused of sexism with the use of bosom) of a journalist who cares or even a journalist that can possibly make her employers screen something controversial - wake up and smell the coffee.

Tony Bennett is perfectly correct when he criticises Poulton and Hutton. Neither of them have stuck in an FOI, despite Hutton, on one of her hate blogs about Tony Bennett saying something along the lines of she'd be prepared to be locked up for her right to freedom of speech (usual bullshit) and how Tony Bennett is a fool. Poulton and Hutton are interested in trolls and themselves. They are not interested in Madeleine McCann. I place them on the same sofa as Katie Hopkins.

Just my opinion.

I'm in full support of Tony. Amaral  has persevered for the truth and over here Tony has carried the flag.

As for those two, I'm sure you'.ll know who I mean....they're all mouth and no trousers,
though no one needs to discredit them really as they do it themselves!

Yes, thank you Tony, bravo!!!!  I don't know all the particulars of his legal battle with the McCann's but it seems to me I have read he lost a lot of money in the fight and I it might be appropriate and appreciated to start a Go Fund Me for Tony Bennett.  Does anyone else agree?

I understood COLD was set up some time ago for oppressed libel defendants with Tony to get any money coming in to pay off the money extorted from him by Carter Ruck/McCanns, and then any balance going to help others penalised for speaking out on important issues.

I'm sure members would like to contribute. I tried googling COLD to get info but only got info on refridgeration companies, the group Coldplay and other irrelevancies!

I got back late on 14 August from a family holiday and have only just gotten around to seeing this new thread.

I am grateful to all who have posted their support, every comment means a lot to me.

To kinell, thanks for posting Lizzy HideHo Taylor's article, of which I was unaware.

To Lizzy HideHo Taylor, thank you in the first place for posting that YouTube video about my court case. As you say, it has been fairly successful with over 45,000 views when I last looked. Thank you also for thinking about me at that time and for understanding my plight. And thank you for bringing out both in your video and in your article the essential issue that I faced in this whole matter, namely that our exceptionally oppressive libel laws mean that one simply cannot afford to defend oneself against an allegation of libel. I had to sign those draconian undertakings or face a full-blown High Court libel suit. And last but not least thank you for your tireless energy in sharing, via your website, your YouTube vids and other means, your deep knowledge of the case. On at least two controversial but vital factual issues in the case, I know that our views coincide completely. 

To aquila, thank you for your practical support as well as your stated support on the forum.    

To hentie, thank you for a huge amount of all kinds of support over the years.

To plebgate, lj and copodenieve, thank you for understanding where I am coming from and for your expressions of support over a long period.

I am grateful to you too roy rovers for your kind words despite my rather acerbic comments from time to time on the vexed suject of man-made climate change.

Whilst stopping by to thank people, there are so many I would like to mention. At the very top of the list is sharonl, who took time off work to act as my 'McKenzie friend and assistant during the trial and has done so much to support me over nearly six years.

Jill Havern founded this forum when I was in dire straits in November 2009, indeed CMOMM was set up on the very day that a High Court judge in effect sealed my fate by stamping a High Court seal on an order requiring me to abide by my undertakings. I owe her a great debt, and one of my satisfactions in the case has been to work with her and several Mods to build this up into by far the most-read and encyclopaedic Madeleine McCann forum on the net.

And I must also mention PeterMac, who gave great practical help to me and stiffened my resolve ahead of the contempt of court trial. And I think so many of us have been helped in our understanding of this case by his persistent and penetrating forensic analyses. 

Plesse do not think that in not mentioning other names, I have forgotten any help ad support I have received from you. I have noted and appreciated it all.

On the subject of the C.O.L.D. fund, again I express my grateful thanks to those who donated to it; the donations have made a modest contribution to the McCanns' court costs which I've had to pay and will still have to pay until my last Standing Order payment due on 25 April 2023. Less than eight years to go. I appreciate the suggestion of a GoFundMe campaign to help with my court costs, but - NO. Some people have given generously to C.O.L.D. I consider that I have had more than enough help. It was my decision to take actions which I ought to have known would lead the McCanns to seek to find me in contempt of court; these are essentially my responsiblity.

Maybe one day, either before I die or afterwards, much of what I have said about this case might be proved right. Would I or the Executors of my estate be able to reclaim my court costs? Possibly, but I doubt it.

From time to time I pray to the God I truly believe in that He will, sooner rather than later, cause the full truth about this case, and all the wickedness that lies behind it, to be exposed. After all, I believe that no secrets are hid from Him. When David was going through trials and tribulations, with King Saul and his men repeatedly trying to hunt him down and kill him, he often cried out to God: 'Why do the wicked prosper?' He left us these feelings in many of the Psalms. So, with David, I share his thoughts in Psalm 93 (vv.3 & 4): "Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of inquiry boast themselves?"

But I think there will come one day when all the world will be judged, when all the secrets of men will be revealed and shouted from the rooftops, and justice will be seen to be done. Maybe on that day we shall finally learn what really happened to Madeleine McCann.

A brief word about 'Smithman'. I have called Operation Grange an expensive charade from Day One, from the moment we learned that Rebekah Brooke had bounced an unwilling Prime Minister and Home Secretary into setting it up in the first place. Thus when DCI Andy Redwood pontificated about his 'revelation moment' and claimed that those two e-fits of different men were now 'the centre of his focus', I just knew that was all fake. Hence my research into the history of 'Smithman'.

Finally, a bit of exclusive news for the forum on the Les Balkwell case. And that's partly because roy rovers was kind enough to write this: "I was taught at uni that when confronted with a problem, if you keep asking questions eventually the answer will present itself. I've found this to be true and I think it's what TB is about". 

I hadn't been able to get a good first night's sleep after my holiday before Les was on the blower to tell me that whilst I was away, Essex Police had conceded that their flawed investigations into his son's death HAD breached the Human Rights Act, and that therefore Les and his wife WERE due to compensation. They have asked the judge to assess the amount of damages.

One more significant victory in the case. 

But over 13 years since Lee was deliberately killed on 18 July 2002. And the police cover-up began.

REPLY:  The C.O.L.D. fund is administered by Trustees and I am not part of C.O.L.D. in any shape or form. I will however ask the Trustees if they are willing and able to make a statement. I have no objection at all to the Trustees disclosing how much help I have had from C.O.L.D. by way of donations, but they must decide if they want to do that. In financial matters such as this, I do believe members here, and others, would welcome full transparency 

It's a pity Mr Bennett let a book go to someone and that I think is the reason he got to pay out a lot more money. He had been told not to sell or let anyone else have said book and someone tricked him (Tony Bennett) into letting him have a book.

I hope I have got that correct, I am pretty certain that was the story.

Goncalo Amaral, Tony Bennett, Brenda Leyland - all interested only in pursuing the truth of this case. All penalised beyond words for doing so... something at some point has to give

One of 13 breaches of undertaking that Mr Justice Tugendhat found proved agaisnt me was indeed the provision of one copy of '60 Reasons' to 'journalist' and photographer Michael Gunnill*. He used another name and said that he needed an original copy of '60 Reasons' for 'historical research purposes'. After deliberating for a while, I though his request was genuine and sent him one of the copies I had previously given to my mother.

But the other 12 'charges' all related to written material where it was adjudged that I had broken my undertakings, mostly in articles written for the Madeleine Foundation website or here on this very forum.

* When Michael Gunnill was first 'outed' as having deliberately deceived me into parting with a copy of '60 Reasons', his personal website was plastered with photographs of the notorious Haut de la Garenne children's home on Jersey. Very strange.

When this was raised publicly, he hastily claimed that this was 'just an assignment for the Daily Express', but also swiftly removed all the Garenne photos from his website. 

At the High Court he said on oath that it was his idea to entrap me and that the Daily Express had paid him for his trouble, although they never ran the story. This seemed at odds with his boast on this fourm (he was a member here 2010 to 2012) that he had immediately passed the said book to Carter-Ruck

Tony, I now realise it would not be wise to put info on donations to COLD on this website as Carter Ruck obviously still monitor posts here and might then demand an acceleration of payments from you.

So I withdraw my request.

However, I do want you or admin to put up the COLD website address/other relevant contact info so members who want to, can make a contribution when they can afford to.

You graciously say you have had enough financial help from members but it is for members to decide whether they want to contribute to you, or indeed to other people who have suffered financially due to the crazy libel laws.

COLD is already established and should be used. A gofundme campaign would not be a good idea to help you as the money donated is shown and could bring problems from Carter Ruck.
