If a mobile was lost in the area. Or are they looking for something else. Seems rather odd for two chaps to go paddling about in the rock pools.

IIRC these pics were taken by journalists using long lens cameras who were following them. They had had no idea that they were being watched. There is another thread on this somewhere. I will try to find it.

These photos are widely accessible on the internet, if taken surreptitiously I'm astonished that team McCann haven't been screeching from the rooftops about invasion of privacy and firing heavy artillery in the form of libel lawyers. I'm interested to know how it came about.

Top right picture, I'm pretty sure MW's and Gerry's sightlines meet on the same point.
My idea has always been a mobile, not ringing it (if there were people taking these pictures they'd have heard) but sms? To locate a throw away mobile used say between 9 pm and midnight on 3/5/07?
Co-ordinating the main actors? All my opinion.

Iirc Payne and Webster turned on their mobiles around 8 pm, again I'd have to look it up but I don't think they switched them on on any other night.

They certainly appear to be there on a mission of some sorts. Good idea about it being a mobile they were searching for. The photos were taken from a distance - that seems pretty certain given that
Gerry / Michael do not seem aware of the photos being taken. Although, Gerry's actions on the mobile could just have been a case of responding to someones call or text.

Thank kindly for taking the trouble to dig out the links.

It seems to me that the reason for Gerry's little rock climbing expedition can only be a guess, not necessarily sinister in any way although I admit it does appear a little odd. As the main line of McCann defense as concerns disposal of a body is the ever present media, it's seemingly a very foolish move to take a trip down the beach area in the broad light of day if up to no good.

Distraction is good maybe?

NB: Aside from the rock climbing photographs the interview with Mr Amaral is very interesting. Condenses the whole conundrum into a straightforward appraisal, minus all the rubbish the saga has gathered over the years. The man is quite a genius!

Find them extremely odd, the expressions are not what you would expect if your child had gone missing neither do they appear to be frantically searching, more like a leisurely stroll along the shore? WTH!!?

The pictures taken by the same photographer on the same day show Gerry's sister with the twins in a buggy with Gerry. So at some point he has arranged for the twins to be taken care of while he goes down to the rocks with Michael Wright to do..what?Why?

On the McCann files link it says that the content of the text will not become publicly known until November.

At first sight, the photo appears normal. it's a picture of Gerry McCann with a man, on a beach a Praia da Luz close to the church. Gerry is (manipulating) a mobile, specifically he is sending a message, something of which the police are aware because the time and the date coincide with an sms sent by him. However, the content of this is secret and will not be publicly known until the middle of November.

Was the "content" ever released, does anyone know?

Best to check the ever reliable Creche records to see if the "Twins" were signed out of the Creche on this day the picture was taken,was this the buggy that had gone on the previous Beach Trip?

Top left photo- Gerry is looking at his mobile as he's just received a txt/call. In my opinion I can't see anything suspicious in these photos. They look just like we all would, walking and talking on a beach

What possible reason would a father who had a small child who disappeared supposedly from her bed have pottering around the rock pools? There is absolutely no reason for such a father to go there, what is the link between the event as reported and him strolling around as though on holiday?
