Mass civilian terrorism and a war crime.

They did it because they were worried the Japanese would surrender to the Russians first.

No warning shots, no demonstrations.. straight in with TWO mass killings of civilians.

Evil.

The victors always write history though.

Hi Gogetmegoncalo and bluebag,
It seems as though man kind is determined to self destruct themselves and to take innocent people as part of "Human progression" in science development?
I am not saying that Science was wrong to have developed the thesis of Nuclear science, but did they really know what sort of genie they had let out of the bottle until it was too late after dropping the first bomb, then why the need to drop a second one?
I would just ask that a prayer or a moments thought be given to the innocent generation of people and lives lost who had No chance to escape the Bombs aftermath explosion, obliteration of both human life and Animals alike and the damage caused to the planet!!?
It is quite horrific when you think how long it takes to make the fusion of Nuclear power in it's development as a power supply, medical need and how long the spent force needs to be safely stored after life capacity time to be deemed safe?
You now do not need a nuclear bomb to cause immense havoc, you only need to find out where it is stored and bingo, another catastrophe begins?
Yet still today, seventy years after finding out it's immense power, instead of demilitarizing nuclear plants, we see them expanding in the need to provide Electricity power supply, yeah right, the human race needs a constant supply of power 24 seven throughout the world in different time zones?
