It's just so not right!

Not everyone is like you though, BB.

I have always thought it very strange male adults bathing other children.   NO WAY JOSE, just NO  WAY.

Seriously? You'd let another male, who isn't related, to bathe your child?

I would be very reluctant to let a male who was related to my child bathe it. Open floodgates.

Agreed...even that would be unusual........
Maybe it's a doctors' thing?

Maybe there's a pink spin on 'it's a cultural thing'. 'British people are notoriously trusting about their children being bathed by males on holiday/males at home who hardly know them'.

"It's the British way".

You couldn't make this stuff up if you tried.

In fact, come to think of it, if someone asked me to help bathe their child it'd be an emphatic no........

Would you keep an eye on the children whilst they play in the bath for safety sake though JohnyT?

I can see where you're coming from Nina but keeping an eye and bathing are two different scenarios. I'd probably say......I'll get my wife..........

A couple of things highlight to me that this statement is important. Doctors don't ‘shop‘ other doctors however the Gaspers were sufficiently alarmed that they made statements. They knew the McCanns and by Gerry‘s inaction to the suggested actions and question (possibly about his own daughter) he condoned the behavior and didn't even ‘blink‘. The Gaspers knew by implicating DP they were implicating GM as well. Friendship over but it needed to be done.

Yes exactly!  Very courageous and they absolutely did the right thing in reporting their concerns.

It depends what actually happened and the circumstances. It's not always easy to be certain of your suspicions. Paedophiles are notoriously clever at hiding in plain sight aren't they?

Yes, we let our kids get bathed by unrelated males, we leave toddlers alone nightly in foreign holiday lets, and we let men we don't know that well, go into our dimly lit apartment alone and check on them.  It's all so British! duh

With Nigel Nessling being the latest addition to a group of child abusers linked too this case, now is good time to bump this thread for anyone who is not familiar with the Gaspar Statements
