Well, in that Send in the Dogs episode with Martin Grime, he gave Eddie a jar of sand which contained 100-year-old human remains to find, which he hid in some rocks - and lo & behold he found it!

Oh very dear, Leicester Police obviously don't agree that dogs are notoriously unreliable!

This won't go down well with Prime Suspects Professor Gerry and his medical worker wife. think

Even more "unreliable" dogs

This time they will be working for Kate McCanns' charity, Missing People.

https://www.missingpeople.org.uk/about-us/work-for-us/current-vacancies/1004-project-manager-d-p.html

Missing People and Lowland Rescue, in partnership, have been awarded £1million by People’s Postcode Lottery Dream Fund to develop our Search Dog Heroes project. The project will deliver awareness to thousands of families whose loved-ones are living with dementia, special educational needs or mental health problems; all of which are linked with high risk disappearances. In addition, the project will see the training and deployment of 100 new search dogs, some of whom will be ground-scenting dogs who can find a missing person quickly using articles of scent. This role will be responsible for leading Missing People and Lowland Rescue’s Search Dog Heroes project funded by Dream Fund, People’s Postcode Lottery.

It never ceases to amaze, how something that is a recognised fact, and is often discussed in mainstream media, news articles and on television programmes (ie use of police dogs) can be so easily dismissed and classed as charlatanism by Clarence Mitchell.
Do people really swallow it? Do people think 'the McCanns seem so innocent, and those dog alerts are meaningless. How are they meaningless?? They provide a very clear indication as to what happened.
