Good news for justice.  And good to see some more donors from Portugal.

But a minor point.  Why make the donations via the GoFundMe website?  Assuming the money was collected in Portugal, it could have been sent directly to the BPI in Lisbon at no cost.

By directing the funds via the GoFundMe website, 5% plus is deducted and of course there is also the cost of exchange from Euros to Pounds and presumably back again when the funds go to the lawyers. 

It really does not make any sense to me.

An expensive and rather inefficient finger.  And why two donations of the same amount 5 mins apart?  Surely one £8000 donation would have had a bigger impact.

Maybe they were from entirely unconnected donors independently contributing the same amount on the same day at the same time.  What are the chances!

Same name used though, and only one message written in Portuguese.  Can only have come from one group of Portuguese donors.  All good stuff.

Well done you.  That sounds like a result.  And presumably it was a transfer using the likes of swift to transfer directly between banks. 

In the case of GoFundMe this is invariably using credit or debit cards, and therefore the exchange rate is out of your control. I am just puzzled by the use of this site for donations from Portugal - when a transfer straight from their bank to the bank in Lisbon is likely to be at best free or at worst at a modest charge.

No doubt someone can explain.

It has lifted my spirits to see larger donations being given at last!! this is my donation for last week and this week, because I believe in Dr Amaral and not the other 2 doctors who appear to be unable to speak the truth! I will continue to donate as long as this fund is needed and I truly believe that one day we will reap the rewards and see justice done. I want to see Dr Amaral get his life back and to know that we believe in him!!!

So it's ok for Hugh Grant to make separate £5000 donations individually to Kate & Gerry for their bike ride/triathlon fund raisers, but not ok for a man who has his assets frozen by them to receive support for his legal battle against them!

They received large donations early on via their limited company that's masquerading as a not-for-profit entity. 

The Mccanns and their vile supporters are seriously the biggest hypocrites in all this! The Mccann's fund is not transparent either, yet they have the cheek to call an open donation to Amaral's fund 'dirty money'.

It's obviously deliberate behaviour, just like all the spam bots they create of the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] tag. It appears the Mccanns are still fighting for survival/freedom.

This is excellent news.   Come on Portugal - about time and I am sure Rocky is very appreciative.

An anonymous group of Portuguese “business and legal workers” have ploughed over €11,000 (£8000) into the online appeal set up by a young single mother to raise money for beleaguered ex-Maddie cop Gonçalo Amaral. Amaral’s appeal against the €600,000 in damages awarded against him in the civil case taken out by the parents of missing Madeleine is due to be decided by Lisbon’s Appellate Court “any day now”.
The cash boost has brought the Legal Defence for Gonçalo Amaral to over €65,000 (£47,010).
Donated in the Portuguese language, the text claims to be from “an anonymous group of business and legal workers who are appalled by what has happened”.
It continues: “Portugal and Britain are old allies, but the McCanns and the British gutter press have tried to drive a wedge between us.
“We can all see what they are trying to do, freezing Dr Amaral’s assets to prevent him from defending himself, whilst using the donated millions to sue him.
“That is not justice. It is not right.
“The McCanns lost five out of the seven issues, but the British press has not reported that, nor the strong terms used by the judge against their so called ‘evidence’.
“They have to pay 60% of the costs, but the British press has not reported that” either, the text continues, stressing that “this small donation is to ensure that this act of hate and venom does not succeed”.
The donation - arriving in the legal fund in two chunks on Tuesday morning - has been widely shared on social media where a veritable avalanche of support for Amaral has accompanied him for the past eight years. But so far it has been ignored by the British mainstream media.
As to the former PJ detective’s appeal against the ruling that effectively orders him to pay the McCann’s over €600,000 in damages, that is advancing now through the Appellate Court in Lisbon.
As a friend of the former detective’s explained, “it is not a public process. There is no court date.
“At some point, the judges reach a verdict and then they communicate that verdict to all parties. There is however no deadline. It may take weeks or months until we hear anything”.

There (the bolded bits) is the confirmation CM lied when he said the Mcs have to give evidence at the appeal and therefore their anguish.   
The appeal is just paper review by higher court judge/s of a lower court judge's applications of law against evidence, without needing a court to be in session.

Also, it's interesting to note that the anonymous donations came from "a group of Portuguese business and legal people".  It's good to know legal people there also want to see the travesty of justice put right.  It would mean even legal people there believed the law was not correctly applied and the judgement was a travesty.

Dr Amaral When the people trying to destroy you legally have found it necessary in the past to consult the lawyers of murdering dictator General Pinochet on extradition issues, the lawyers of the alleged Omagh Bomber on the matter of LCN/ DNA, the lawyers of Eugene Zapata (self confessed killer) on the evidence of cadaver dogs and employ the services of Carter Ruck to bully anyone who uses their right to free expression I think that tells the public something about the truth behind the lies being told against you. When they employ so called detectives whose expertise is in money laundering and not missing children some of whom have been convicted of fraud that tells you where the truth may be found.

I feel so shamed by the Portugal donors showing us for what we really are, I am sorry for lying so much and I hope this breaks the ice for all of my colleagues who have made a fortune out of this case to put in large donations before the end of the month. Remember, doing the right thing is never too late.
