On the face of it, this new photo now seems as clear proof as you coud get that this story with that terrible 'KO' headline is correct
In the light of the image being presented again and appearing to be credible, I've removed my 'first glance' critique in which I concluded there were reasons to believe that the article could be a forgery. As I stated in my comment, that was based on a fifteen second assessment of a low resolution image, and a gut instinct based on 18 years of working experience in design, print, layout and digital imagery.
As always, my reaction simply proves that experience and gut instinct alone are not sufficient to draw conclusions, and that thorough examination and source verification are extremely valuable in avoiding putting foot firmly in mouth.

Re: Helium Overdose?
Helium overdose is not public knowledge...see Coroner' Court general info...
http://coroners.leicester.gov.uk/current-inquests/
http://coroners.leicester.gov.uk/current-inquests/?entryid78=582748&char=L
So the helium story is either leaked inside info or false.

Not a Hoax
Earlier I spoke to the Daily Star news desk - the article was a "copy and past, of sorts" from "Raymonds News Agency". My request for a copy to be emailed to me was declined.
http://news-agency.b99.co.uk/derby/raymonds-news-agency/
I received no answer to my calls to the above.
I therefore telephoned LCC. I have emailed them a copy of the article together with some of the vile comments made towards BL. These I have been assured will be put in front of Mrs Mason.

I have done my best, all's we can hope for is that Mrs Mason demands that the Daily Star declare their source.

Well spotted
So there is no Raymonds News Agency, since 2010
Begging two questions
A. where did the DS really get their info;
B. why did they point the finger at Raymonds?

Re: Helium Overdose?
It would appear that there is a company with a similar name Raymond Press Agency
http://www.endole.co.uk/company/08237306/raymonds-press-agency-limited
Companies House tells us that there are two incarnations of Raymonds Press Agency Limited (perhaps they were News in a previous incarnation(?) )
For some reason I can't host/post my picture
I have sent another email to LCC as per Portia's post.

Re: Helium Overdose?
Raymonds News Agency was at 56A Babington Lane, Derby
Postcode: DE1 1SX
http://news-agency.b99.co.uk/derby/raymonds-news-agency/
and Raymonds Press Agency is at
Abotts Hill Chambers Gower Street, Derby, DE1 1SD
which is just round the corner.
http://www.ibegin.com/directory/uk/derbyshire/derby/raymonds-press-agency-ltd/
just so we get a slightly fuller picture of the tangled web.
Either way, my take is that how Brenda died was not to be released to the press, media or public till at least the day of the hearing on20/3/15 when we may get to hear the truth.

That raises so many questions.
Assuming Raymonds News Agency is regional newsagency, since it is based in Derby it is not considered Leicestershire region (Mccanns home region) I'd suppose since there's a 25 miles distance between those the two regions.
Why would Daily Star, a national MSM newspaper, copy and paste an article from RNA, local/regional news agency, so recklessly without regards for the veracity of the contents in the article when there is an open inquest into Brenda Leyland's death. Can't imagine why RNA would print a hoax like that ? If it is leaked inside info it is still rather reckless of RNA to have printed it without sensitivity consideration for BL's family when nothing has been announced by the Inquest.
Wait and see...not long before the end of inquest.

Couple of points
Interesting use of a headline of "Gas KO of "troll"". The KO does not ring true for a jouno too write.
As to helium overdose. Have knowledge of how it operates. Not widely reported as a form of suicide for obvious reasons. You need to source sufficent helium and the means to inhale it. If there was such evidence in the hotel room, when Brenda was discovered, then a compelling case. But the coroners court would not have leaked this information, prior to the final hearing..

Re: Helium Overdose?
So there was a leak at the Coroner's Court and the helium story was correct which was not for release to the press/media before the Final Hearing.

Re: Helium Overdose?
As the inquest didn't last long, I doubt if the Coroner investigated any CCTV footage or other possible proof that Brenda took anything into the hotel.

I shouldn't think so unless the relatives ask/pay for an independent post mortem which by the looks of things is unlikely.worriedmum wrote:Will any further legal process to take place?

There must be a trail.
It's easy to hide a small canister in the handbag.

Not sure about that.
Depending if her family will pursue MB. The evidence he gave in court is sufficient imo to sue him for his actions of hounding her (laying in wait 3 hours for her return after he'd doorstepped her) and negligence of her well being - pushing her over the edge with airing of the programme despite knowing her unstable state of mind.

I just like higher standards of proof than "this is what happened trust us".

Re: Helium Overdose?
Is there anything said in today's inquest that has given proof of the helium canisters by way of photographs taken at the scene/receipts/cctv of Brenda buying helium/on-line purchase etc?
Were statements given by the hotel staff who found her read out in the inquest or was this information submitted only to the Coroner?
I'm at a loss as to how it took about 3 hours to sign this off.
I'm hoping for a transcript of the proceedings.

Re: Helium Overdose?
Just having cannisters of helium and a web page open doesn't mean that someone actually killed themselves by helium overdose.
The medications and alcohol she had ingested wasn't enough to kill her. There is no toxicology test to determine helium overdose SO was Brenda found with rubber tubing and a bag and mask over her head?

Re: Helium Overdose?
Nothing more than two canisters, small fire extinguisher sized by hand measurement, according to PC Taylor..
With regards to the Daily Star article, I wonder when Sky's legal team received copies of the witness statements?

Re: Helium Overdose?
It looks to me like a classic problem reaction solution "Hagalian dialectic". Create the problem (people killing themselves over the McCann issue), get a reaction - which we are seeing now in the media and soon to follow will be the "solution". Which I predict will be to pass some sort of emergency legislation allowing them to close down websites and internet content that could be considered negative towards the McCann's. Wouldn't surprise me if the government make an announcement on it. I hope I am wrong. The helium suicide is very unlikely in my opinion, I suspect murder made to look like suicide. In my view whole thing is a psy-op orchestrated probably my Murdoch and MI5. I was approached by a journalist acting for the Guardian the other day. They are preparing an article (probably hit piece) on the fact that people do not think the media are asking the right questions in relation to the McCann's. They were desperate to get me on camera to make comments. They refused to agree to my conditions, which were mainly that they show me the piece before it airs so I can check it for accuracy - so I did not give them an interview. I suspect they are planning a hit piece on the "beliefs" of those who have found information on the internet about the McCann case. The journalist is Jenny Kleeman.
