Is it unusual? It wasnt in my day. My dad always new when i was having a period as i was a right cow lol....and would talk openely about my PMT. We had a very open family, my dad was always walking around with nothing on, jesus in this day he would have been arrested, but way back in the fifties/sixties, families were not scared of their bodies, and they were never made to feel it was DISGUSTING to see a naked body either. Now its all about perversion, and sickness etc. I am 63 and had a wonderful and open relationship with my mum and dad, and my daughters both over forty we discussed EVERYTHING together we never had secrets they could come to me about everything.

This society now is weird, and scary. I am so glad I grew up in a different era. LOL we used to walk about with skirts up her bums, and long legs showing with high heels, but i never heard of one girl going missing or one girl being raped not in my groups anyway...now the girls go on facebook and show off their bodies with selfies, boobs hanging out, they have open profiles so any pervert can see, and they join internet groups who encourage them to do filthy acts through web cam......the world has gone mad.

again he is her father, why wouldnt he know? Does knowing she is on a period make him a killer and a pervert? As to his post, how do we know he wrote that he could have been FRAPED.

I dont know what happened to her, no one does....but i still think the story lies behind facebook....I think she was meeting someone perhaps. If the father did do it, then the police will soon have the evidence but for now we need to wait and see.

Well of course he is her dad and would probably know these things but the odd part IMO is to share this info over twitter and put a graphic picture of what may have happened to his daughter in every one's minds. He is more or less confirming she has been raped and killed, why would he be so sure? the police didn't advise him to share that info so why did he?

A local park is being searched, locals have handed 'suspicious items' into police and it seems Tito and muzzy have been at work in the house and garden. There also seem to be hints that although the father said he was at work when she was last seen, this may not be true as police won't confirm who was in the house when she was apparently last seen. The mother is questioning how she left the house but wasn't seen by anyone which unfortunately is similar to the Tia Sharp case. Hopefully the dogs can rule some things out.

Specialist sniffer dogs used in the hunt for Madeleine McCann and April Jones have been used to search the home of missing teen Becky Watts.
The highly trained victim identification dogs from South Wales Police were drafted in to search the property in Bristol today.
The dogs were first seen being led to the back of the house into the garden by officers wearing blue and white overalls.
The two spaniels were repeatedly taken from a large white van parked outside the family home and could be seen going in and out of the house throughout the afternoon as the search intensified.

Yes it must be awful for members of the family to read outright accusations and horrible theories but it would seem the police are working through all the same theories as shown by forensics going over the car and sniffer dogs all over the house and garden. The police are not 'trolling' though, just doing their job. Only weirdos on the internet can be Trolls!

Does anyone find it 'odd' that Sky New's senior chief crime correspondant, Martin Brunt, is NOT 'all over/assigned to' the Becky Watts, Jihadi John, 'stories'?

Especially as we 'know' he almost 'specialises' in 'young, 'missing' girls' stories

How do you know that Benion? Police have not released any names. The dad and step mum gave a statement earlier in the day rather than in response to the arrests.

Don't beat yourself up, Benion... as far as I'm aware Rebecca has not been found, the case is yet to be concluded, and a couple of the messages her father has posted about her have been disturbing to say the least.

Sometimes when our teenage daughters have their monthly's we as parents know - mother or father OR in some cases both.

Our daughters tend to change moods, be grumpier than usual, tummy ache etc etc so OFCOURSE the father would have known if his little girl was not well. I don't see any reason for one to think the father had anything to do with Becky missing just based on his statement on facebook alone!

It's the 'Pandora's box' comment that I find particularly disturbing, Dutchgirl.

As for advertising the fact that it was his 'baby girl's time of the month', if Rebecca is alive I can't imagine she will thank her father for being so specific. No-one would have considered it odd if he'd asked "wifes mothers and girlfriends" (sic) to look out for blood on their partners/sons underwear but, to my mind, the wording used gives further cause for concern.

Update regarding search for missing Rebecca Watts

A number of locations have now been searched within a 2km radius of Becky’s home address in the St George area of Bristol.

We can confirm that, at this stage, no significant items have been identified during these searches.

A laptop computer which was found a in a local wooded area yesterday, is not related to this missing person investigation.

We are running six specialist search teams each day which are being complimented by officers from Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall and Gloucestershire Police forces.

Tomorrow (02/03), we will again be assisted by the specialist dog unit from South Wales Police and the police helicopter. [NOT those "useless dogs" AGAIN?]

Search and missing persons' experts from the National Crime Agency, College of Policing and the National Missing Persons organisations continue to work with our enquiry team.

Detective Superintendent Liz Tunks, head of the Major Crime Investigation Team at Avon and Somerset Police said: “Firstly, I would like to reiterate my message yesterday that our search for Becky continues unabated and we are using all available resources to find her.

“Secondly, I would like to extend my thanks to the local communities in St George and the wider Bristol area who have assisted with our search efforts so far.

“The sheer number of people who have shown support during the public searches has been incredible. I would ask that all planned public searches are co-ordinated through us so they dovetail with the extensive search operation we have running.

“Finally, I would urge anyone who have any information as to Becky’s whereabouts to come forward immediately. Please call us on 101 or use the online reporting page on our website.”

The two people arrested yesterday remain in police custody at this time.

The message alone isn't proof of course but why did the father need to imply his daughter had been assaulted? He was essentially telling the public what had happened before the police have been able to confirm it?! How do you help a missing persons inquiry by tweeting something that implies the missing person has possibly been killed? All very odd IMO, it reminds me of the McCanns and the advice from the police not to give certain details.

there are other things too that don't add up. No-one saw her leave the house, presumably there is no CCTV or it would have been released, there are doubts about who was in the house when she was last seen and then all the forensics in the house and garden and a huge oil drum being removed.
It would be wrong to accuse someone outright but naive to think everyone within the family is telling the complete truth about the circumstances.

A second house has been searched now and a car removed that had been there a week.
