Interesting but complicated.
Red blood cells have no DNA. (Not a lot of people know that !) - because they have no nucleus.
The various types of white blood cells do, and therefore contain DNA

A blood transfusion therefore alters almost nothing, and in any event after a time the body has eliminated all the cels and replaced them with ones of its own making.

A bone marrow transplant can do various things.
The type where the entire bone marrow of the recipient is destroyed before the injection of the new replaces the DNA in the new white cells, but of course NOT in any other of the cells of the body usually screened for DNA,  mouth lining, semen and so on.
The more recent type where only part of the recipient's marrow is knocked out leaves the recipient as a "Chimera" with two sets of blood DNA .
There is loads on the net about it.

Who's the bloke in the bottom left corner with the red dungerees that looks a bit like Jermaine Jenas? And what's he carrying?

I had to look up who that is. Funnily enough, I thought that the one representing Kate looked like David Beckham, one of the very few footballers I've heard of!

It's Andy Redwood with some sort of detecting tool.

On first viewing I thought the person on the bottom left hand side was a young Elvis Presley with a guitar (that was a compliment if it was supposed to be AR which I didn't realise at the time), but then I looked again it seemed to be like a flame thrower being held (one used for destroying weeds maybe on an overgrown piece of land) or an electric cutter for bushes, shrubs etc.

The other "Lego" persons and doggies are brilliant, well done PM.

With statements such as that made by Payne, PeterM, I don't envisage that any defence counsel worthy of the name would allow or advise any of the Tapas 7 to take the stand, not even Dianne Webster whose words are less incriminating than those of her son-in-law but who may blurt out 'super(mumble)' and be asked to speak up so the jury can hear her.

Imo even if this crew were rehearsed to the nth degree, they'll all fluff their lines in the spotlight of cross examination.

The Libel trial lot even had their lines written out either by them or for them, and STILL fluffed them.

I can understand their not getting it right on the first night, but by the time of the rogatories you would have thought the Rothley secret meeting would have sorted it out.
But apparently not.
Could it be that some of them have consciences which do not permit them to go beyond a certain point ?
Or that weighing up what they were being asked to say, they realised that "Conspiracy to Pervert" was a real possibility,
and so started to gibber and dribble at that point.

I think you're right PM.
In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the excessive mental stress and discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time. This stress and discomfort may also arise within an individual who holds a belief and performs a contradictory action or reaction. When dissonance is present, in addition to trying to reduce it, the person will actively avoid situations and information which would likely increase the dissonance"

I guess this explains why they avoid reconstructions, except those of a mockumentary style where they can use their scripts. I guess this explains why none of them speak except through Gerry.

Re: McCanns will NOT return to Portugal

Post by missmar1 on 31.05.14 22:47

The Mccanns have travelled far and wide to give tv interviews during the last 7 years - they have sat on sofas and discussed their missing daughter over and over again and they have vowed never to give up the search for Madeleine.   They have continually claimed there is no evidence that any harm has come to her, even now, with digging to commence, Gerry Mccann has stated they are still hoping for a happy outcome .

So why,  would they not return to Portugal at the very time when some real and serious activity is taking place ?   Possibly it could be said they would be too upset to be there while the diggers are looking for their childs body - yet they have always managed to maintain their stiff upper-lip attitude and attended many many activities over the years that has involved them talking about, and, participating in, events being held for their missing child - so why not go back this time ?

Imo they may be throwing down another gauntlet ? Remember Gerry Mccann snapping " find the body" to I think it was a reporter ?  It may be that the close pal who said they would not return unless Madeleine's DNA is found, is knowingly/unknowingly passing on the gauntlet to the investigatotrs because possibly the Mccann's know their child's DNA is not going to be found during the digs ?  In other words, is it another case of Gerry Mccann repeating  " Find the body" ?  because imo, the Mccann;s are saying no matter what the digs find,  unless Madeleine's DNA is found, we will not accept she is dead.   all my opinion only.
