Surely if the police digging in those areas were trying to locate a body, or other items vital to the investigation of Madeleine's murder, would we really get to watch them doing it?
No tarpaulin to keep out prying eyes?
Knowing the strict secrecy laws in Portugal it doesn't make sense.

I don't believe they will find a body as I am convinced Madeleine was taken out to sea.

It'll be the early morning knock on the door and the first we'll know about it will be via the msm who will report that a man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, [b]aiyoyo[/].  Within a few hours their names will become known and the papers will be full of it.

nglfi Today at 7:29 pm
"I've just watched the BBC report on the digs, there was not one single mention of the parents.  It does seem there's a slight shift in reporting,  with only tabloids like the daily mirror talking about the parent's agony. Of course I'm sure they are in agony right niw, nothing untrue about that!"

Wouldn’t a focus and emphasis on the ‘parents’ huge grief’ (Daily Mirror) be a good choice and have a greater (financial/sales/readership/impact) effect on the story if/when things go 180 degrees or pear shaped?

No news in neutral or grey stories. No sales or popularity in good stories in the press – e.g. large amount of money raised for disabled charity (or on TV, e.g. Dead Enders or Procrastination Street if positive storylines used).

‘Strange sombre man in black involved in free for all with children’.

‘Vicar opens fete’.

Uummm. Now which headline should I go with?

Would be interesting to know how long that hole has been there, and if it was covered with bushes and earth previously?

If it was there in 2007, then I agree - no digging required. A handy place to put something, pending removal later, assuming the area had already been searched prior to the placement of the object.

IMO this is being carried out in public view so that the suspects have a full view of what's going on.

But Coldwater was a wind-up merchant, no?

It's premature to discount CW.
Wait until the case is over and you will have your answer.

If the PJ had had forensic evidence from a large sheet of cold metal at the time Coldwater made that post, they'd hardly have put the sheet of metal back in the scrubland, would they?

Coldwater was very  plausible in some ways but also came out with real rubbish (eg he claimed a SY detective he knew socially told him details of the case at a barbecue - yeh, as if).

Also, he was clearly not expecting the case to be shelved, at which point he disappeared never to be heard of again (not as Coldwater, anyway).

To say "Wait until the case is over and you will have your answer" is just silly, sorry. In my opinion, if one or two things Coldwater said turn out to be true, it is because they were lucky guesses, not because he had some inside information.

I'm assuming it's a he, could be a she of course .....

We have heard of a Pet crematorium before  but not a graveyard, but surly PJ would have searched that with a fine tooth comb , especially in obvious looking places like the picture seems to suggest .

Sorry Russiandoll-why ask for a review when it puts you back under scrutiny?
They wouldn't worry about it if they believed beforehand that they wouldn't be scrutinised.

So taking that into account AndyB,how would it benefit them to ask for a review?

Who told you they actually ASKED for a review? How do you know that all comments on the subject are not a spun attempt to restore the illusion of control, so that they're seen doing what their well-meaning supporters helpfully suggest. The whole operation they've run screams that they don't want help, they want control.

Why is it laughable?   Say you were someone that visited the town on a number of occasions over the years and you heard about locals burying/ or getting rid of pets in a certain area....(this may not necessarily be a 'nice' final resting place for pets but somewhere locals could dump pets no questions asked)   If you had something to dump you may just do it in this area that has already been prepared.
