Would they dare attempt to remove that evidence before it gets found...?

If so, then maybe it wouldn't be so daft if the police were looking for recently disturbed ground.

Happens frequently in crime dramas, but surely no-one is that stupid in real life ;-)

I agree. Surely not?!

IMO there will be no cover up. Apart from anything else, the climate for cover-up in the UK is not right what with the high profile prosecutions that are happening.

PS: With this latest activity, I am reminded of how the PJ wrong-footed the press in the summer of 2007 as they dug Murat's garden.

What I really can't get my head round is why the McCann's have kept the story in the news for 7 years when they could have just let it die and be forgotten by most.

I mean, if they had let it die when the PJ closed the case in 2008, would the current investigation be happening at all?

Can someone enlighten me? Does Pat Brown have inside knowledge? How does she know that they are searching where the "British Paedophile might have buried her"? Saying that one is of the opinion that this may be the case, is one thing, but stating it as fact is not worth a jot.

The irony if that ends up being the case! Although I agree the fund is part of it, I believe there just has to be more to it somehow.

I believe the theory of Amaral........accidental death and disposal of a body, but what we have witnessed the last 7 years comes nowhere close to covering 'just' that IMO.

Just have to wait and see if any evidence is found, I guess.

Rua 25 de Abril is where the empty apartment called ‘Vilamura’ is - No.5, IIRC. The one that lies a few yards on from the ‘Smith sighting’. Can't retrieve my original post now, from the start of this forum.

Help me out - there was some cryptic reference somewhere to this place, was there not? But it was mistakenly thought to refer to Vilamoura?

Where have I read that at?

Apologies for replying to my own post, but I found it myself - an anonymous letter to this forum's owner, no less.

Mentioned here http://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t1760p10-philomena-mccann-one-greedy-unscrupulous-character

Some interesting suggestions on page 2 of the Philomena thread CR:-

  • An empty apartment with a freezer in the basement utility room.

  •  And a reference in the PJFiles saying:-

"The report on page 3998 and the inquirition on page

3459-a refers to two telephone communications that were received on the

night of the facts by KATE HEALY, from a bar that is located in Vilamoura.
It was possible to verify that it was a common friend/client between both".

So two telephone calls from Vilamoura to KM on the night of the 3rd - wonder what for...

I am staggered that there is a street named 25th April in Pria de Luz.
For anyone who doesn't know (one of) the significances of this date then google Alice Day.
Does it perhaps have other significance relevant to Portgual?

Robert Murat has now taken legal action against Stephen D.Birch for trespassing on his property in July 2012. Instead of assisting Stephen in ascertaining whether the body of Madeleine McCann lies buried beneath his rear gravel driveway, Robert has elected to bring an action against Stephen through the Ministerio da Justica of Portugal....The action was launched on the 21 March 2014

It's been confirmed this morning by reporters in South Africa that Jenny Murat, Robert Murats mother has initiated a legal action against Stephen D. Birch for trespassing on her property two years ago. The question is why now ?????

Odd, and Murat a close friend of Sergey Malinka,   Rua 25 de Abril is where Smithman was heading towards. Is there any likeness to the photo fit everyone thinks is G?
COULD BE imo

I don't know what it was all about but it was referring to the search for Madeleine.  Of course I could have misinterpreted what they were talking about as I only heard the last few minutes, but I'm sure they were referring to a person and not the PJ/SY searching.

Is this what GM was referring to when he said on recent TV interviews that there were still "more leads that needed looking in to" (I can't remember his exact words) and TM are now giving out more ridiculous leads to the media to send the PJ and SY on more wild goose chases, before the real perpetrators are apprehended.

ETA: I'll have to watch it again at 7.00 p.m. to see if it's repeated

Just to update that I watched the BBC news again and there was nothing about Madeleine as I saw an hour ago, how strange.

As I only saw the end of the report, it could have been about Kruger and his machine, I really wish I'd seen it all.  I know I'm not going Doolally, I wonder if anyone else had seen it so they could say what it was about.

No doubt if the PJ are now looking for a body all sorts of things will be fed to the press to "disrupt the PJ investigation".

All in my own opinion

Yes it does have a different significance in Portugal.  It is their Freedom day which celebrates the revolution in the 70's.

Thanks for that.  I thought they had shown a photo of a man, and someone said he was a good man, or something like that, so I immediately thought they were trying to pin Madeleine's disappearance on him.

It is disturbing when £millions are being spent on the Madeleine search, when so many other good causes could benefit.  It makes my blood boil that the McCanns have never even intimated at sellling their Rothley mansion to help in the search for Madeleine, good grief, that is way beneath them when the gullible public can keep topping up their "Fund".

One man (the father of a girl who disappeared in Kenya whilst on holiday many years ago) sold his home to travel to Kenya and help the local police to find her.  Her remains were unfortunately found in the ashes of a fire in the bush but he'd done everything he could, unlike the McCanns who have sat back and expected everyone else to do their bidding.

Only one of 19 coincidences.  Wikipedia lists 19 holidays and special observances for the day. You'll probably find the same for every day in the calendar as there are nearly 200 countries on the planet.
