Possessing offensive clothing must be worth a month or two surely ?

I thought I was alone in finding so many of these "National Treasures" buttock-clenchingly, gut-wrenchingly awful.
And this long before any allegations had, or have been made about them

The sort of people whose very mention is enough to cause one to "hurtle' across the room to turn them off.

Not alone in respect of some people PM but Rolf wasn't on my list of instant turn offs!

Bruce Forsyth has never been on my watch list - I hasten to add there's no suggestion of any charges being made against him - and as for Jimmy Savile, ugh! I'm embarrassed to admit though that I did try to get my son on Jim'll Fix It. Thankfully I never heard anything about it.

I hope that I can escape without being lynched when I say that, for me, Morecambe and Wise were pathetically unfunny. I'm sure they were nice people though.

There are a few 'national treasures' who are rightly treasured, PeterMac, but Rolf Harris isn't one of them - and nor should he be as setting him up as one of the UK's precious gems would be akin to denying Australia the right to claim the incomparable Barry Humphries as their very own triplet* opal. big grin

Mine neither - always liked Rolf. I don't want to think that he could be guilty of such things. I'll wait for the jury's verdict. Not looking or sounding good right now, though.

Bruce Forsyth has never been on my watch list - I hasten to add there's no suggestion of any charges being made against him -

Can't stand him. Always struck me as a bit of a dirty old lech - but that's just an impression and I'm not making any suggestion that he's actually ever done anything untoward - not that I'd be surprised. Regardless of that side of things, I've always just found him immensely irritating and his self-love just makes me cringe. Very full of himself.

Cilla Black's another one I can't stand.
Very over-rated and loves herself far too much.

and as for Jimmy Savile, ugh! I'm embarrassed to admit though that I did try to get my son on Jim'll Fix It. Thankfully I never heard anything about it.

I always wanted to go on that show as a kid. I think most people did.
Thank goodness he never 'Fixed it' for me.

I hope that I can escape without being lynched when I say that, for me, Morecambe and Wise were pathetically unfunny. I'm sure they were nice people though.

I agree! Never found them at all funny.
Mine in blue.

I find this most unsettling and have wondered this from the outset of the trial.
It seems odd to me that they are going for the historic abuse part (not that they shouldn't) but seemed to have ignored the recent activity of possessing child abuse images.

When he was first arrested it clearly said that the possession of the images was part of trial and now no mention of it whatsoever.

I also read that Mr Harris had been charged with possession of certain images, Bristow.  However,  as I have seen no account of him having been indicted on any charges other than the 12 counts of indecent assault which are before the court, I would suggest we defer any further debate on this subject until such time as the ongoing trial has reached its conclusion.

If I were Judge I will add a few more months to the sentence just for offensive clothing.

Tom Jones I can't stand. His clothing and him I find offensive - loud, crass and flashy, just hideously horrid !
Elton John and Cliff Richard are not my cup of tea either.

I like Freddie Merucy though despite his flamboyant dress sense. He is such a good performance soooooo talented with an amazing voice.

Morecombe and Wise, Fools and Horses I find boringly unfunny.

Black Adder and Faulty Tower are brilliantly funny, I like those.

From memory, I think they were described as 'indecent images' of children. Although, as was explained to me before, a kid in the bath could count as indecent. Child porn was not mentioned with regard to Harris, iirc. I think that was just inferred [eta: possibly incorrectly,] from the term 'indecent images'.

i don't think the police or prosecution use the term 'child porn' at all. All such images, films etc. would be termed indecent images and range in seriousness from the first level that could be images of children in quite everyday situations, up to the worst kind of stuff.

While the current trial is ongoing any speculation or debate with regard to charges for which Mr Harris does not appear to have been indicted is best deferred until a verdict is returned.

The trial has again been delayed and I'm not surprised as it seems to me the defence has a lot to agrue about: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/rolf-harris-trial-live-updates-3625022
