Black refuse sacks containing shredded blue sports bags and pink blankets of uncertain provenance?

OCCAM'S RAZOR ALERT
Why introduce another element - black bin liners
We already have a blue tennis bag big enough to hide a . . . . tennis racquet
We even have a photo of it.
And a dog alerting to the exact place where once it was on the shelf.
And then to cap it all we have Mitchell denying there ever was one, which just about stitches it up.

If the McCanns are named as suspects or persons of interest in Portugal, I wonder if they will continue to be treated as celebrities by people like Lorraine Kelly?

A t-shirt of a national brewer, made only for exclusive customers, is the latest track that back to British police to disclose the purpose of the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
According to the 'Sunday Express' newspaper, the shirt will have been used by sexual predator who works in Portugal for years and that is the main suspect in the disappearance of Maddie, on the night of May 3, 2007, in the tourist village Ocean Club (Algarve).
Remember that the lack of coordination and liaison between the police forces of the two countries have left dissatisfied parents of British girl.

This is an earlier report from this "former top Scotland Yard detective" so we can safely assume that tomorrow's will be an unmitigated load of manure as well.
I just wonder if it's possible that the Express itself is having a laugh here? After all, it has been silenced and can either say nothing at worst or say things a certain way at best. Is this actually a cleverly disguised message to the public that the barrell is being scraped now? Just wondering...

[color:eb69=000000]Spot the difference: The Burgundy Top v. The Superman T-shirt [color:eb69=000000]By Nigel Moore 28 April 2014 What the Met actually said: 'On two occasions in Vale de Parra and Praia da Gale he was wearing a distinctive burgundy long sleeve top, on one of those occasions it was described as having a white circle on the back.' So, how does the 'amazing new clue' of the Super Bock 'Super Man' T-shirt measure up?
Not exactly a 'sensational breakthrough' then. |

Re: MADELEINE: Sunday Express special investigation seven years on from disappearance
To quote Peter Bleksley:
“Forensic techniques are continually evolving and improving and I think the Yard should consider whether there would be any value in conducting further forensic tests of material from apartment 5a.
“An abductor may have come into contact with bed linen, door handles, door frames, walls, furniture and there could be minute traces from which it was not possible to obtain a profile then but may be possible now.
“If a profile was obtained from 5a it would be very interesting to see if it matched profiles taken from scenes of crime where British girls were attacked in apartments or villas."
Just read a very interesting article about DNA evidence...
http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26324244
The story, unfortunately, is about contamination of DNA evidence, but one thing stood out for me:
"Today, everyone entering a crime scene has to don a new, clean paper over-suit and overshoes as well as gloves since DNA retrieval techniques are now so sensitive that simply lightly touching an object - such as a door knob or knife handle - can leave enough of a trace to carry out a successful DNA analysis."
I was going to suggest it would be interesting to go back to 5A and other apartments to do a forensic sweep in light of new techniques, but unfortunately I think it's been too long, and if the crime scene(s) were not secured there's no hope of getting uncontaminated DNA now.
But if there are still DNA samples (and samples of other things from which DNA could not be extracted before) and they have been securely retained since 2007, perhaps these new techniques will bring interesting things to light!
ETA - not to help track down any fictitious abductors - but to help track down what actually happened to Madeleine (without the help of any potbellied circle-wearing smelly bedsitters).

MADELEINE: Sunday Express special investigation seven years on from disappearance
Hi Canada12
I think Peter Beksley is stating the obvious there. The key thing with DNA and it's placement is whether you can match the victim with the
perpetrator of the crime.?The FSS and INML struggled to find any specific DNA matches with anyone in 5a despite taking swabs of the Tapas 9 policemen etc and that would be Nuclear DNA. The second question is whether the matched DNA samples are at the scene of the alleged crime?
As an example I could sneeze/cough on you on a bus and have nothing to do with your future demise if a crime was commited against you. If I was on the National DNA Database I'm pretty sure the police would ask me where I was when your demise occured. So for me it's not just about matching two sets of DNA evidence it's about proving beyond doubt that the two sets are connected by other solid evidence
which place us together at a certain point in time.
