Christmas Message from Kate
Official Find Madeleine Campaign
Christmas 2013
This year seems to have passed particularly quickly - a sign undoubtedly of a very busy year. It would still be a comfort if we could slow time just a little. Thankfully however there have been some very positive aspects with regards to Madeleine. The Metropolitan police review becoming an investigation and more recently, the reopening of the case in Portugal. We are incredibly relieved and buoyed by these developments and continue to hope for further collaboration in the near future with the possibility of a JIT (joint investigation team) between Portugal and the UK to enhance the search for our dear daughter.
Once again we would like to thank all our supporters for their commitment to Madeleine and their ongoing support of our efforts. Please spare a thought and prayer for all families similar to ours who will be unable to share this Christmas with a special loved one.
We wish you a wonderful Christmas and a happy and peaceful 2014.

She wants it to SLOW DOWN !It would still be a comfort if we could slow time just a little.
She wants the Search for her missing daughter to SLOW DOWN ?
Who are these people ?
And more importantly, why do they not receive proper advice about what to say?
Or perhapsOnce again we would like to thank all our supporters for their commitment to Madeleine and their ongoing support of our efforts.
Once again we would like to thank all
Re: Christmas Message from Kate
Not joking, Peter, but ...at least they mention Madeleine's name twice and they talk about "their" daughter.
Not "a little girl" ... So I see progress.

Re: Christmas Message from Kate
I must say that, imo, Kate's 'Christmas message' is rather well written and strikes an appropriately seasonal note of 'peace and goodwill to all mankind.'
It led me to click onto the 'findmadeleine' website and (to me) it seems spectacularly odd that on the 'home page' screen there is still that e-fit of the man Jane Tanner says she saw. The same man that Andy Redwood said on Crimewatch had been totally, utterly and completely ruled out! Has Kate not yet been introduced to the holidaymaker who came forward saying that Jane Tanner's e-fit was of him collecting his child from the night creche? Or is the website simply operating with a time lag? The 'findmadeleine' website's continued display of the e-fit, seems totally at odds with the message's content, which suggests that they are delighted with Scotland Yard's involvement (and the Portugese re-opening.)
I am confused, do Mr and Mrs McCann trust and believe in SY (and the Portugese police) or not?

The posting of the Christmas message on Find Madeleine at least proves the existence of a competent webmaster who can update website content. Makes their inability to negotiate a simple payment provider change all the more mysterious.

I can't see her Christmas message on their site. I saw this though:
Why do we continue?
There is absolutely nothing to suggest that Madeleine has been harmed.
Madeleine is still missing and someone needs to be looking for her.
She is very young and vulnerable and needs our help.
We love her dearly and miss her beyond words.
-
Line 1 is contrary to pg 129.
Line 2 states it is someone else's responsibility, and NOT theirs, to be looking for their daughter
Line 3 falsified by the above two lines
Line 3 God Only Knows...
Ye Gawd, that Queen of Fabrications has spoken and wished she could slow down time....(shudder)!

Re: Christmas Message from Kate
Please, no more messages from them.
Two police forces are now working on Maddie's case, do we really need to hear from her parents any longer?
I think it would have been nice if they had taken the opportunity to tell the World that they have put any monies from the fund into the public purse to help the Police forces look for their daughter. I might have been interested in hearing from them then.

Re: Christmas Message from Kate
Interestingly, now that the message from Kate is using the splash page as well as featuring in the updates, and given that they have seen fit to not update their own suspects page whilst doing the Christmas message update, there now appears to be no reference whatsoever to the gallery of Scotland Yard latest suspects - Smithman etc - and only proper on-page reference to Tannerman / Crecheman and spooky man and Victoria Beckham.
The arrogance / absurdity of it all is astonishing!

Re: Christmas Message from Kate
"It would still be a comfort if we could slow time just a little."
That leapt out at me as a very odd sentence.
A comfort to slow down time? Why? They have every hope she will be found. Why not speed up time - that would surely be more comforting.
And if slowing time is a good thing why only "just a little"?
And why "comfort"?
One feels as with many of their statements that this is full of some hidden meaning. What it might be is difficult to say but it doesn't sit with their other statements. Also, there is a sense here that they are just surfing events that they have no role to play. This seems to go against everything they used to say about publicising the case, and actively searching for MMcC.

Progress indeed, Chatelaine - and not just their daughter, but their 'dear' daughter.
Having made reference on the very morning of the McCanns' update to their 'relief' https://jillhavern.forumotion.net/t8769-well-here-it-is-merry-christmas-or-is-it could it be that I have the gift of prescience, or is that the first thread I have created on this forum had the effect of a stone thrown into a still pond and caused a far-reaching ripple to serve as a timely reminder that an outstanding item on their 'to do' list required immediate attention?
On balance, I'll chalk this one up to the Christmas mail dates rather than ascribe it to the hawk eyes of TM's internet monitors as it seems probable that, having become accustomed to life in the first class lane, the sight of a second class stamp on mail delivered to Rothley Towers would offend the delicate sensibilities of K&G.

Perhaps the reference to slowing down time is a hint to the other involved parties about how to respond to questions from the police, should the police decide to pay a visit and conduct interviews? "Slow time just a little".... ie...when whatever you were doing was noted or reported... make it a little earlier...?

This year seems to have passed particularly quickly - a sign undoubtedly of a very busy year. It would still be a comfort if we could slow time just a little. Thankfully however there have been some very positive aspects with regards to Madeleine. Iwould have opened with this sentence. The year passing quickly when you are waiting for positive news ? I've always found time to drag in such a case. The Metropolitan police review becoming an investigation and more recently, the reopening of the case in Portugal. We are incredibly relieved and buoyed by these developments and continue to hope for further collaboration neat sentence leaving just enough of a hint that TM are still in the looplin the near future with the possibility of a JIT (joint investigation team) between Portugal and the UK to enhance the search for our dear daughter. so the search does appear to have gone on, 'enhanced' is a strange word to use, as if it's being decorated. Surely intensified or expanded would have been a better expression imo. Unless the search is an abstract concept that needs to be enhanced, thus making it more attractive.
Once again we would like to thank all our supporters for their commitment to Madeleine and their ongoing support of our efforts. Please spare a thought and prayer for all families similar to ours who will be unable to share this Christmas with a special loved one.

No Gerry?
To slow down... perhaps they are scared, aren't they?
And they are the ones who insisted in a review/investigation.

Mmmm, maybe they are doing things on a separate basis lthis year!
Slow down - to decrease in the speed at which something is moving or happening
Too late for that Kate.

Re: Christmas Message from Kate
I think they are terrified. And I don't think they insisted on the review / investigation. I think they got word that the case was going to be investigated by SY and belatedly issued a notice asking for the investigation to happen. I think they'd already found out it was going ahead and needed to give the impression it was their idea. I don't actually believe it was their idea at all.
Yes, it's interesting that the Christmas message is only from Kate, and not from Kate and Gerry. I wonder if that's at all meaningful.
ETA - this isn't my idea exclusively - I remember someone else on this forum making the same point, based on reading documents based on FOI requests. Was it Tony Bennett...? Apologies for not attributing this.

Has anyone actually seen or heard from Gerry since Crimewatch aired? I know Kate did her gala for Missing People, but don't recall any appearance or statement from Gerry since. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

No,and i think this is all planned, having kate do every thing on her own,but for what reason I haven't a clue a the moment unless it is about the suppression of the e-fit and the fact that people said it looked like Gerry.Jontait wrote:Has anyone actually seen or heard from Gerry since Crimewatch aired? Re: Christmas Message from Kate
"Please spare a thought and prayer for all families similar to ours who will be unable to share this Christmas with a special loved one." Kate McCann, Christmas Message, 2013.
Come on forum guys, picking Katie's message to pieces, where's your Christmas spirit ? (Little squeaky voice...... It's in the cupboard under the stairs so the vicar doesn't find it )
No seriously, it's very nice of Kate to ask us to spare a thought and prayer for all families similar to theirs, although I can't imagine that there would be many families really that would fit their criteria.
I mean, who else abandoned their three kids to get their faces round the liqueur, who then made up a humungous story about abduction which the 're-opening of the investigation' they personally called for, has announced as null and void, and indicated therefore that they must have concealed the fate of their own 'dear daughter'.
Are there many families like that?
So what on the face of it looks like a really generous thought, is actually very limiting in its reach.
Wouldn't it have been nice if Katie, taking advantage of her celebrity appeal status, had wished for a Christmas prayer for all the other families who have lost children but not in a fashion similar to the McCanns.
Once again, the musical notes of their mantra ooze out as if from the open wounds of their message, so altogether now, sing along now with..... 'me, me, us.... me, me, us.... me, me, us, us.... me, me, us.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

My grandparents always used to say that the years pass more quickly the older you get. It certainly feels that way. I still dream of being able to stop time. Our only alternative however is to continue doing as much as we can to the best of our ability to enhance the search for Madeleine. So that is what we’ll do.
http://www.findmadeleine.com/updates/index.html
ABOUT time, she has already written. One wonders: she wants to stop time in order to remain in the situation. Or she just do not want to be older?
