It wuz the 'dead' paedo wot dun it, geddit?

A convicted paedophile would have been prosecuted for the murder of a girl who went missing in 1957 if he were still alive today.

One of Scotland’s longest unsolved child murders has taken a significant step closer to being solved.
Moir disappeared after leaving her grandmother’s house in Coatbridge in 1957. Her body has never been found.
It is widely believed she was abducted and murdered.
Scotland's senior law officer, Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland QC, said: "I welcome the statement issued by the Cold Case Unit.
"This will hopefully bring closure to the family of Moira Anderson who have had to wait more than half a century for answers.
"I would like to pay tribute to the campaigners who refused to allow the memory of Moira Anderson to become forgotten.
"I would like to pay tribute to the prosecutors in the Cold Case Unit and the officers of Police Scotland who worked so hard on the case.
He added: "Indicting someone for a crime is not the equivalent of finding someone guilty.
"The trial process is the only place in which guilt or innocence can be determined"
READ THE ABOVE LINE VERY CAREFULLY, ANDY.
"We are not saying that the suspect is guilty, only that there is sufficient credible and reliable evidence to indict him and there would be a reasonable prospect of conviction had he still been alive."

How 'predictable' for a cold case 'review' to conclude.

So that case 'closed' then.

Raymond Hewlett back 'in frame' for Andy?

He's tried 'everything' else!

"Subliminal messaging", anyone?

All imo.

ETA: I have every sympathy for Moira Anderson family.

R.I.P. another small child.

The burglars acting for ex MW estates manager took the child sold Her on ( at a profit -see bank statement) to the Blonde German fence (specialising in second hand children) who sold Her on to the German peado (at a profit - see bank statement).German peado anticipating his own demise due to ill health sold Her on (at a profit to support his family -see bank statement) to the rich Russian Olygog who it will be almost impossible to trace without further fund raising events.

There will be plenty more suspects to eliminate before the above comes to pass.

Thank you chrissie and wjk. Moira had gone on an errand for her grandmother, who lived round the corner from my grandmother. We kids all knew about Moira and she's still a very real memory in the town. I was in the same year at school with Sandra Gartshore, who wrote a book naming her own father as the probably abductor and killer. Alex Gartshore lived right opposite the police station and he was known to the police for raping a babysitter and yet he was never called in for questioning. A friend of his left a death bed confession saying he had helped Gartshore and also naming a long list of local senior police and dignitaries who were members of an alleged paedophile ring. FOI requests have been made for that list, but it has not been disclosed.

James Gallogley also left a list of alleged paedophiles, including senior police officers and local Councillors. This list has never been made public. Freedom of Information requests have been denied.

Sickening, the names should be released for further investigation.

It is sickening. The police have declared that Alex Gartshore would have been prosecuted had he been alive. Case closed and let's hope everyone forgets about that list.

I read Sandra`s book and watched the interview with her made by the `In Confidence` programme.

Agree, how sickening it is that a paedophile ring within the police force is being protected.

Well, one thing`s for sure, if AR whitewashes the McCann case, we`ll know for certain that criminal behaviour of establishment figures is being covered up.

I watched an episode of The Vice last night. It gives a powerful insight into the operation and mindset of a paedophile ring. Whilst this is obviously a crime drama series it isn't without research and I'm glad it has covered a trully heinous crime that infests our society.

For those who have the stomach it's available on ITV player.
