Munchausens syndrome by proxy

Post by whmon on 03.11.13 12:37

I find this rather interesting: Snippets include the parent being unemotional when something happens to their child, child may be drugged/smothered etc, parent may work as a medical professional...

Remember Beverley Allitt, the nurse who killed children in her care?

Another interesting case that of Marybeth Tinning who is believed to have killed eight of her nine children.

There is a very informative topic of the same name. Iirc it also has details about the GP's in it.

Note!  It is Munchausens with one s in the 'hausens'.

This would fit in with my feeling that KM may have borderline personality disorder. Her behaviour is more in keeping with this than the narcissistic disorder usually attributed to her.

I agree and the more I think about it the more I am convinced that this is the underlying disorder. It would also explain her statements about 'imagining her perfect little genitals torn' and 'her fear of pain'.
