Dutch tv today

Post by Juulcy on 17.10.13 22:50

In RTL boulevard a Dutch lifestyle and newsprogram was a very good item. Focusses on unjustness of critique on the Portugese police. Also Peter r. De vries, a respected crime reporter and former police officer gives his view on the work of the police and GA's book. He says that they have done a decent job, the research seems sound.

I can do a transcript and translation if people are interested, some of the footage is already in English.

Peter de Vries Rolling Eyes

At least none of them fell for Andy's revelation.

Peter R. de Vries was much more outspoken on the daily prime time programme DWDD, which I posted elsewhere. He supports Amaral AND thinks SY is "making wind", trying to catch people they have already in their vision ...

Sorry Peter's past makes that I really can't give an aⱤse about his opinion.

It is reassuring though to see that the Dutch not walked blindly in McCann's and Andy's trap.

translation interview

Post by Juulcy on 18.10.13 11:59

sorry if this is too long, I don't know where else or how else to put it..

Presenter: The madeleine mccann case is keeping the whole world in its grip this week. BBC Crimewatch kicked off with a special emission and after that followed NL opsporing verzocht and German Acktenzeichen XY ungeloest.

Voiceover over footage of the initial investigation. (man in white dusting the shutters e.g.) : “The British police are rehashing the portugese investigation. Three Crimewatch like programmes are therefore giving airtime to the case again.”

Fragment of interview with DC Redwood: “Primarily what we saw to do from the beginning is try and draw everything back to, to zero if you like, try and sort of take everything back to the beginning and then re-analyse and re-assess everything(k), accepting nothing.”

Footage of PdL current time (I guess) voiceover: “The Portugese police work is being portrayed as a makeshift job, but the Portugese in their turn are not impressed by the English.”

Street interview with “Jose” inhabitant of PdL in Portugese, Dutch subtitles:
“The Portugese police are among the best in the world. So if our police , with its qualities, is not capable of solving the case, then I don’t think there is an added value to having the English police here.”

Vague footage of G. Amaral walking towards a camera, smoking, voice-over: “Former leader of the enquiry GA does not think the British investigation will bring anything new. He emphasises that the man who is seen on the day of the vanishing with a child is one of the best leads. But back in the day that was not taken seriously.”

Vague footage GA talking into a webcam (I think), translating voiceover from Portugese to English says: “everyone of us on the investigation found that lead important as we see now that it is. When I left the investigation there was a gap. And the man who came to replace me discarded that hypothesis and didn’t want to follow that lead. They are in the same place that we were in 2007. That is, they have a man who is seen carrying a child in his arms. We got there in 6 months. British police took 2 years.”

Back to the studio. Two women presenter and Peter R. de Vries, former investigative crime journalist and police officer.

PrdV: Everyone is again held captive by this case. There is an outpour of telephone calls at the programmes that have aired this. 150 calls to “ opsporing verzocht”.
Presenter: Strange, after so many years.
PrdV: yes, well, I have to say that some of those are people who try to think with you. “meedenkers” we call them. I myself get many of those. They react after watching: I think maybe this or that happened. So they are not concrete tips but more like commentary, but yes, people feel involved.
Presenter: Yes, but the police. It seems as if there is always trouble between the British and the Portugese police. Now I think that the Portugese police are actually saying: we could have done it ourselves.
PrdV: Yes, well I must say I have read a book that the Portugese police chief has written about the investigation that he has done in this case. Well I cannot criticise that actually. The Portugese police have been really on the ball. They have tried all sorts of things. And yes, well, than it has not succeeded. But yes, between police forces and different countries there is of course always some animosity, look at Holland/Russia, and that is a pity in a case like this, because everybody should really work in the same direction if you want to solve a case like this.

Presenter: Yes, well, about this Crimewatch: so you think it has been pre-cooked to ehh….
PrdV: well yes, I think, I think, I don’t think this story with the E-fits is serious. You cannot, six years after the date, based on such a vague drawing ask people: “have you maybe seen someone that looks like this”. And then it is supposed to be one person, while the drawings are nothing alike. So I think they just wanted to stir things up and maybe they have some people under a phone tap and hope that they will betray themselves. But time will tell. Let’s hope that somehow it will be solved.

Well, it's no wonder why the Portuguese police won't reopen the case. They cracked it back in 2007. Whatever SY does now, GA's book cannot be undone. It proves he was correct all along. It's all over bar the shouting!!!

Not quite . This Smithman sighting . i'm still not sure about .

As i have mentioned, he will have to be eliminated for the enquiry to proceed . I know GA was keen to trace , but Gerry's silence could also be deliberate as he may know it is a red herring which will throw all and sundry off the case again .

I still do NOT think SY are onside either , too many vested interest's , high powered peoples reputation's / careers to protect . against [ sorry to say it , in there minds one missing  child ] .

When AR say's that the McCann's and there holiday friends are NOT person's of interest , or suspect's ,i sadly think he means it .

And there is NO way Portugal will re open the case , The UK Government made sure of that .

But at least the blitz is over now bar Saturdays pull out in the Sun .

Bring on Nov 5th now for the Fireworks , but it is only sparklers at the moment, we need a bloody big rocket .

quote stillsloppingout    "As  I have mentioned, he will have to be eliminated for the enquiry to proceed . "

Can't the enquiry proceed if he is identified as the person with Maddie, or do you mean if the enquiry leading to a cover up is to proceed?

Hi Just to clarify . "He will have to be identified for the investigation to proceed ."

What i mean is IMO he will NEVER be identified , as  i do not believe him to be real , hence another red herring , another reason for the Yard to be looking for that ' MAN ' who hold's the secret , whilst all the time The McCann's are bought yet more time . and this time it appears it will be for good .

I have a horrible feeling you are right stillsloopingout.

What is so telling for me is the way they've chopped and changed the reconstructions - such as they are - for different countries' edification. It is ridiculous to be trying to resurrect fading memories with erroneous scenes such as the Tapas 6 instead of the Tapas 9. If the 3 P's were not at that table it is incumbent on SY to say something along the lines of "it was previously thought that 9 Tapas members were present but our investigations show only 6 to have been present that night" or words to that effect.

Likewise with the Tanner walk of fame - one showing JW with GM. The other, they have disappeared under an invisibility cloak. Outrageous. And just like a GM stunt, confusion is good. What is so amazing is the insouciance of SY to present this to a global audience.

It's all like a runaway train now and we all know what happens to runaway trains. Unfortunately, SY don't seem to see the prospect of  collateral damage from the crash because a glance at Twitter tells you what reputational damage they are heading for if this is not a clever ploy and brilliant detective work from "the best in the world". And the massive irony heading towards the UK like a tornado is that the reputational damage to the country will be far greater than the reputational damage of whomsoever anyone was trying to protect in the first place.

This is pretty much what is being discussed over at the 'Where could Smith-man have been heading' thread.

I agree, slopping, as I psoted somewhere else (but I get lost now with all the thread and being a ton of pages behind) he has created "reasonable doubt". I also believe he does mean it when he says that the McCann's and their friends are not person's of interest. The recent cooperation on the " reconstruction" and his permission on the perversion of the facts in the videos and in the interviews says enough. I have said it before: he could have sufficed with just a plain statement, but everytime he is drooling all over himself and the mediocre medics to make clear they are not involved in his opinion.

It has left me with a bad taste in the mouth. It's amazing what our democratic, modern, western world allows to happen and imo just because they want to save face.

Thank you Juulcy for the transcript. You're a hero.

The PJ cracked it pre-October 2007 under Gonçalo Amaral, and IMO they were ordered to un-crack it, so can`t really take any credit after GA was moved.  In fact they could have added to the whitewashing IMO.
