MetPolice YouTube video featuring DCI Redwood backfires - is mocked by the public
The MetPolice webmaster, no doubt commanded to do so by the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, has put out on YouTube today a 20-second video of DCI Andy Redwood, claimed to be one of the finest detectives in one of the world's finest police forces, basically saying:
"Watch me on the telly on Monday".
There has been a deservedly mocking response from those who've made comments so far:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDlTK3hg44Y
It's had a seemingly impressive 428 views already...
...but it's lagging a very long way behind the number of views of Wendy Murphy's words on Fox News on Thursday night...

Dr Martin Roberts: "The evidence is that these are the pjyamas Madeleine wore on holiday in Praia da Luz. They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"
Amelie McCann (aged 2): "Maddie's jammies!".

I think this will be a washout, what is the appeal going to achieve. A man who was seen hanging around outside the apartment and walking around PDL that day - since when was that against the law. So presumably this man must look totally different to the one that Tanner described otherwise it would not be a new lead.
Does this mean that Tanner's eggman has been discounted? and if so WHY?

He's like some character out of Doc Martin, doesn't seem like a SY hot-shot

What the jeff has happened to Andy? He appears to be sharing his new best pal Gezza's barber and, judging from the colour of his hair and eyebrows, he's been taking tinting lessons from the pink one albeit this could be down to the over enthusiastic make up artist who trowelled on the slap, or the dramatic uplighting designed to add gravitas to a man who shows more aptitude for deadpan comedic delivery than policing.
This is the best the Met can offer? Boris should be demanding a refund from Theresa McMay.

Just read on teletext that the Stephen Lawrence's complaint against the Met for racial harassment has been upheld by a police watchdog. It seems to me that they already have a serious problem with their image without going ahead with the crimewatch charade!ultimaThule wrote:What the jeff has happened to Andy?
