Esther McVey - Google Earth image ownership.

Some years ago now I was looking in the PDL area at image registrations where you can register an image as your own. It will take a lot of sleuthing but I distinctly remember one on the PDL coastline registered to one E McVey (Union Jack flag adjacent). Coincidence? I will have to load Google Earth onto my new PC and have another dig.... If anyone fancies assisting me - it is the preverbial needle in a haystack!

described as a washing machine that never stops

Post by Guest on 10.03.15 22:00

Daily Mail has reported today that the Speaker is in hot water for describing top Tory (pardon me?) Esther as a washing machine that never stops...

If any poster can be bothered to provide a  link to such an offensive, sexist article that would be great O:-)

Here it is Ladyinred

Commons Speaker in hot water after comparing top Tory Esther McVey to a WASHING MACHINE that never stops

  • Speaker accused of sexism after likening Miss McVey to kitchen appliance
  • John Bercow said the Employment Minister was like 'washing machine'
  • He intervened during a Commons debate to plead for shorter answers
  • MPs said comparing women to washing machines 'seldom a good idea'

Doubt if she'll retain her seat in May.  In 2010 she beat labour by 2,400 votes.

Thanks, Aquila.

Thanks, Aquila.
She was sitting on the Loose Women 'sofa' in February saying she'd like to be Prime Minister.

Clarrie and Esther, what a duo, what a contribution to the future of UK (not)

I don't know if you watched the youtube link, how many times did McVey say 'honest'?

Clarence, the PR guru, concerned citizen, wannabe MP....

Here's a photo from his twitter feed. As usual he has something growing out of his head in the photo but this photo shows him up a corner and about a foot taller than everyone else. Was he standing on a box in the last row?

It does seem amazing how quickly McVey has risen up the ranks.   I can only hope her constituents put a stop to any further promotions.

If she gets kicked out at the election will she still remain a Privy Counsellor?

Not bad for a former tv presenter.

Here's a link to the role and status of Privy Counsellor.

Not bad for a former tv presenter as you say.

Privy Council

Privy Counsellors are members of the Queen's own Council: the 'Privy Council'. There are about 500 members who have reached high public office. Membership includes all members of the Cabinet, past and present, the Speaker, the leaders of all major political parties, Archbishops and various senior judges as well as other senior public figures. Their role is to advise the Queen in carrying out her duties as Monarch. In the past Privy Counsellors were the chief governing body and fulfilled the role that the Cabinet performs today.

During debates in the Commons, MPs who are Privy Counsellors are referred to by their colleagues as`The Right Honourable Member'. The Lord President of the Council is a member of the cabinet and is in charge of the Office of the Privy Council. In recent years the role of Lord President of the Council has been linked with the role of Leader of the House of Commons, however the Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon Nick Clegg, currently holds the post.

Have to go back to her ‘glamour modeling’ then?

Demonstration calls for Wirral West MP Esther McVey to be voted out
            05:00, 19 March 2015
                        By Liam Murphy

Protestors are due to march in Wirral today calling for Wirral West MP Esther McVey to be voted out in the General Election.
The demonstration is part of a “National Day of Action” against benefit sanctions, and will also coincide with the release of a song, “Sack Esther McVey”, by Liverpool folk singer Alun Parry.
Alec McFadden, of Wirral TUC, said: “Wirral TUC have commissioned local socialist singer song writer Alun Parry to write and record a song to take forward the campaign to ‘sack Esther McVey’.
“This will be launched on Thursday 19th March on the action day to stop benefit sanctions. It will be a free download and we hope it gets plenty of hits and plays to get the message across to stop benefit sanctions and Sack Esther McVey.”
The strongly worded song “Sack Esther McVey” includes the refrain “The wicked witch of the Wirral’s had her day” and focuses on the MP’s role as employment minister and the issue of benefit sanctions.

Mr McFadden said: “Wirral TUC fully supports this day of action to stop benefit sanctions.
“We also redouble our efforts to sack Esther McVey MP and Tory minister for benefit sanctions. This Government Minister seems to take great delight in introducing new guidelines which lead to further benefit sanctions such as when a claimant does not accept ‘zero hour contracts’ the DWP has the right to impose benefit sanctions.”
Ms McVey told the ECHO: “I am perfectly content for the Labour Party and their union paymasters to continue their personal attacks and smears against me - because it perfectly illustrates they have absolutely nothing positive to offer my constituents or this country at the forthcoming election.”
The march is due to start at 10am today at Hoylake train station.

Labour has a five point lead in the minister’s Wirral West seat, which she won in 2010 with a majority of 2,436

McVey has said she wants to be PM

Welfare slasher Esther McVey is set to be one of the Tories’ biggest casualties on election night, a new poll reveals.

Labour has a five point lead in the minister’s Wirral West seat, which she won in 2010 with a majority of 2,436.

The findings are a major setback for the champion of the Bedroom Tax who recently boasted she would like to be Prime Minister.

This looks very much like another case of 'The Curse of the McCanns'.

It has afflicted many.

* Croatian national team footballer - his 2-year-old son was nearly snatched from the beach, mistaken for Madeleine McCann

* Kevin Halligen - worked for the McCann Team - ended up in prison

* Antonio Giminez Raso - worked for the McCann Team - ended up in prison

* worked as a nanny in Praia da Luz when the McCanns were there - banished to the 4 corners of the earth

* Marcos Aragao Correia - the McCanns' lawyer and arranger of the Arade Dam search - did a bunk to Portugal

* Brenda Leyland

@TB

Jose Socrates, (EX PM) the HIGHEST office holder in Portugal, at the time of a, possibly faked, child 'abduction' from PDL, Portugal, languishing, right NOW, in a Portuguese prison awaiting 'trial' on suspicion of CORRUPTION and TAX FRAUD charges.

Yep, McCann 'CURSED' indeed!

Yes, a very good one to add to the 'cursed' list.

I also forgot former high flyer Rebekah Brooks - sacked as CEO of News International.

ESTHER McVEY

I've just looked once again at the video of Esther McVey (bottom of page 1 of this thread). Does anyone else agree with me that insincerity just oozes out of this lady?

(PLUS she was totally wrong about a separate legal defence fund)

'The higher they are, the further they fall'
----------------------------------------------

EX DCI MAHOGANY won't have 'far to fall'!

He's only going to have to possibly 'fall' from the 'naughty' step! laughat

Not from the 'top' office of SY building, or roof of House of Parliament

But that's what happens when you're a non descript, 30 year 'career', run of the mill, 'no mark' i 'suppose'

Can anyone er, 'find' ANY super HIGH Profile 'cases' that EX DCI Mahogany, he had the 'extraordinary priviledge' to work on,  EVER 'solved'?

Barry George 'case' does NOT 'count' as he claims he was 'fitted up' by DS Campbell, DCI Mahogany's 'ex boss' at OG.

Will anyone, from 'cleaner to bosses', who EVER 'worked' at OG be totally 'ashamed' to admit to THAT, in the future?

AS ex 'officers' at GMP are NOW saying, about the despicable child abuse 'cover ups'....'on their patch/manor' by 'senior' police officers.

"it TAINTS all us hard working, honest coppers, the GMP's reputation, and all the police forces, in the UK, generally, where this stuff has been covered up" one ex officer said.

He added 'I'm totally ashamed to even admit, now, to having been a police officer at GMP"

Think on, Andy.

Sack Esther McVey protest sees 14 people and a dog turn up for the demo

Protest organisers admit the numbers were 'disappointing' but claim people are 'afraid' to show support

Protestors gather outside the old district council offices on Market Street in Hoylake
Little more than a dozen people - and a dog Taffy - were at a protest in Hoylake urging voters to “Sack Esther McVey”.
The anti-benefit sanctions protest - which even had its own theme song - was targeting the West Wirral MP and employment minister.
But by 10am only a handful had arrived and even at its height there were only 14 people gathered with their banners outside Hoylake’s Jobcentreplus.
It later turned out another half dozen people had accidentally gone to Heswall and arrived an hour later.
Alec McFadden, secretary of Wirral TUC which had organised the protest - which had initially planned to march from the train station to the Job Centre - said he believed many people were afraid to be seen protesting.
Mr McFadden said: “I think it’s what you would expect - many people are afraid to be seen. It’s total fear.
“It’s disappointing numbers when you think in the 1930s there would have been millions marching, being seen. It’s all social media now.”
Their demo coincided with the release of the strongly worded song “Sack Esther McVey” which includes the refrain “The wicked witch of the Wirral’s had her day” and focuses on the MP’s role as employment minister and the issue of benefit sanctions.
Mr McFadden said the Government is set to bring in “even worse” benefit sanctions and said: “We do not believe anyone should have their benefits stopped.”
He also insisted their campaign was “not a personal attack” against Esther McVey, but because of her role as employment minister in the Conservative Lib Dem coalition.
Unite community member Steve Higginson said the Hoylake event was just one a a series of demonstrations taking place against benefit sanctions across the country, but admitted: “Trying to co-ordinate them has been difficult. We took the view we were better off targeting Esther McVey’s constituency. There should also be demonstrations in Ian Duncan Smith’s.”

Her cheeks look very big in that photo and I thought they looked puffy when I saw her on tv earlier.

Wow good pay if you can get it, not surprised she wants to become an MP again at some point.

Bearing in mind the expenses scandal, the flipping of houses, and the rest, I would not put it past any MP to visit a food bank, and pretend they were just looking for linguini.
