There will be conspiracy theories till the end of the world and even then there will be some small atoms claiming it was a conspiracy and what really happened was...

What everyone is conveniently forgetting is Diana  was not wearing a seatbelt.
Had she taken this simple precaution like her bodyguard then in all likelihood she would still be alive today.

The only survivor out of the group was the bodyguard who wore a seatbelt.

People can claim it was murder etc till the cows come home, it makes no difference, wearing a seatbelt would have in all likelihood saved her life.
Murder by car crash is notoriously unreliable, relying on a sequence of events  to cause death.

We have all seen cases where someone has walked out of a crash that by all likelihood they should have died in, survival being something as simple as ducking, flinching, changing gear or  any number of things.
We have also seen cases where the crash has been to all appearances minor, a slow shunt or a gentle roll and the drive and/or passengers have died.

Why would they try and kill  diana in that method with no guarantee of success, when a simple precaution could probably have saved her life especially given she was still alive when  the medics arrived although with a torn aorta survivability was miniscule.

The whole thing would have to have been based on a serious of scenarios which could have changed at any point.

if you are going to kill someone  you want to make sure of the job, limit any variables make sure there is only one viable option at each moment.

Diana dodi and henri paul died because of their own stupidity.

There will always be those that believe it was a conspiracy, that she knew she was a target ( she was royal any loonie sees royals as targets)

her whole family has a history of problems, champagne charlie is a drunkard and a womaniser  , diana had mental health issues going way back to when she was young and became out and loud when  Charles had enough of histrionics and got a divorce.

Diana was investigated for stalking and silent calls to a married man ( not chrged for obvious reasons) before sleeping with pretty much anyone who showed her attention.

She parentified both william and Harry by confiding her fears and delusions and treatuing them as confidantes and not as the children  they were.

They have both done well to cope with the responsibilities she placed on them.

Should time travel ever be invented and we can go back to disasters, scenes of crimes etc and thus answer every conspiracy theory with the truth of what happened , there will still be conspiracy theorists saying  the scene was interfered with etc.

Looks like Charles likes to keep a close eye on the security services

Telegraph 18 May 2013
Mandrake can disclose that the Prince of Wales held a private meeting at his London residence this week with the outgoing head of the Security Service, Sir Jonathan Evans. His successor as MI5 chief, Andrew Parker, also attended the meeting at Clarence House.

Prince Charles takes a close interest in the work of the Secret Services. Last year, he became the first royal patron of all three main intelligence agencies. He presented what will become annual awards for espionage excellence, officially known as the Prince of Wales’s Intelligence Community Awards.

By whom? And how does anyone know that it is a FACT that Diana was not wearing a seatbelt? I might believe the doctor who first attended to her....released as part of an official story which might not be true , however? Fed as a fact to the media?

What surprise me about this story is if the intell services or military [SAS mentioned recently]were involved they would make damn sure there was not a chance in hell for anyone to blow the whistle.

It said last night that it had asked specialist detectives to examine new allegations and evidence passed to it “recently”. The move was approved by Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, its most senior officer.
The claims were given to the force by the Royal Military Police, after surfacing during the trial of Sgt Danny Nightingale, the SAS sniper convicted of illegal weapons possession.
The dossier is said to include a claim that the SAS “was behind Princess Diana’s death”. Scotland Yard declined to confirm the content or origin of the material.
Officers from the specialist crime and operations command will carry out a “scoping” exercise to assess if a full-scale investigation is justified into whether the Princess, her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul were murdered.
Last night’s disclosure comes in spite of the inquest into the death of the Princess and Mr Fayed dismissing any claims of murder made by Mohammed Fayed, Dodi’s father, and conspiracy theorists.
Related Articles

Since then murder claims have continued to be made but have never been looked into by British police – making last night’s move unprecedented.
The decision to examine the new claims suggests that officers believe they must be looked at by detectives to assess whether they have any weight.
However they come from the estranged parents-in-law of “Soldier N”, an SAS soldier who was a key witness in the successful prosecution of Sgt Nightingale. He was himself convicted of illegal weapons possession.
His estranged wife’s parents wrote to the SAS’s commanding officer claiming the soldier had told his wife that the unit had “arranged” the Princess’s death and that this had been “covered up”.
The source of the claims will inevitably raise questions over their credibility, and why Scotland Yard acted.
Scotland Yard emphasised last night that it was not reopening the previous investigation into the deaths, Operation Paget, and highlighted the verdict of the inquest held after that inquiry was completed.
Officers will have to assess whether the information has not been investigated previously and can potentially shed new light on the deaths.
The development comes ahead of next week’s 16th anniversary of the Princess’s death as a result of injuries she suffered when the Mercedes in which she was travelling crashed in a tunnel in Paris.
A spokesman said: “The Metropolitan Police Service is scoping information that has recently been received in relation to the deaths and assessing its relevance and credibility.
"The assessment will be carried out by officers from the specialist crime and operations command. This is not a reinvestigation and does not come under Operation Paget.
“On April 7, 2008, the [inquest] jury concluded their verdict as 'unlawful killing, grossly negligent driving of the following vehicles and of the Mercedes’.”
Detectives are understood to have contacted the former soldier’s estranged wife.
A royal spokesman said there would be no comment from the Duke of Cambridge, Prince Harry or Clarence House.
A spokesman for Mr Fayed said he would be “interested in seeing the outcome”.
The jury at the inquest returned a majority verdict in April 2008, which indicated that paparazzi photographers who pursued the Princess were to blame for her “unlawful killing”.
Mr Paul was also culpable for her death due to his “gross negligence” in driving while three times over the drink-drive limit, the jury found.
An earlier French police investigation cleared the photographers of being directly linked to the tragedy.

Diana

I don't believe  this information. I think it was made up and it guarantees selling papers.

The only thing I thought it was odd, it was the fact that the d'Alma tunnel was cleaned up, on a very fast way, and it went open. No white mark on the ground where Dodi's body was found, that white mark that he police paint around the corpse.
France was in a hurry to clean everything up.

The parents-in-law of a former army man made this information available. The information first became available during the trial of a former SAS sergeant. Why didn't the courts make the information available to the police? Why was it left to the parents-in-law?

After the scoping exercise the police will announce that it is a case of he said/she said. No documentary evidence to support the allegations presumably. What a waste of newspaper inches, but there again it sells papers.

Bodyguard's seat belt

I've heard that his seat belt was not fastened properly but according to this link it wouldn't have been normal practice for him to have worn one.

It's possible the parents in law of Soldier N showed a copy of the seven page letter to the newspaper and they question the Met about it.

snipped

The Ministry of Defence, the Royal Military Police and the Service Prosecuting Authority have known of its existence and the claim since it was sent in September 2011

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/princess-diana-death-cops-probe-2179191

So the Met have known about it for nearly two years, why are they only scoping now? they've had plenty of time to do that, and then release their findings.

IMO the letter would have been hidden away in their vault of secrets if the letter hadn't surfaced

I am puzzled as to why it was not sought out and destroyed. Why is all this in the papers NOW?

IMO this 'scoping' excercise will get nowhere, whatever the truth or not of the allegations. Too many people high up wouldn't want it to be true. I must say the 'letter' as described doesn't sound to be very likely to be considered evidential. There were, however a great many iffy things about the original investigation. Quite a lot of people involved 'disappeared', or died in unusual circumstances, forensic samples were very odd indeed and not at all reliable. The seatbelts were said to have been jammed open... but maybe that is like the jemmied shutters in another case I know about. A car accident is never a secure way of bumping someone off. You would have to have a supposedly 'helpful' paramedic on hand to get in there early on to give a fast-acting, non-detectable, execution-style jab such as Mossad is believed to posses.

Sixteen years ago I read everything on the subject, and still came to no very sound conclusion. Any complex case like this has its inconsistencies, I know, and I usually avoid conspiracy theories wherever possible.

But then, cui bono, I think, and I wonder.

Imo it's the unvarnished truth. In fact re parenting- the housemaster of the boys phoned her before the panorama interview to ask her to explain to the boys what was to be disclosed. She refused. The housemaster insisted, knowing the impact such a programme could have. She came over briefly, told them it was nothing to worry about and the rest we know - a thoroughly choreographed performance of a poor, wronged innocent.
Pure narcissism imo - sad that this distressing young woman died but if she'd worn a seatbelt, she'd most likely have survived.

I have always thought that if Diana's death was a murder, it was because Dodi was a Muslim. I think there were genuine concerns that they may have married. That would mean that her son, William, who would one day be head of the Church of England, could potentially be the half brother of a Muslim.

With the events that have subsequently arisen with the Arab Spring, Iraq, and more pertinently the troubles in Egypt, would have place England in a dreadful diplomatic position.

The Islamic world has long been a prominent theme at the Bilderberg conventions, as has China, since the end of the Cold War.

I don't think such issues can be underestimated.

Princess Diana death: Cops probe sensational claim she was killed by the SAS

Police are investigating a sensational claim that the SAS was involved in the death of Princess Diana, reports Sean Rayment.

The allegation emerged at the second court martial of Sergeant Danny Nightingale, who was found guilty of illegally possessing a gun and ammunition.

It came in a letter to the elite unit’s commanding officer by the parents-in-law of a special forces sniper, known only as Soldier N, who was Sgt Nightingale’s former housemate and a key witness for the prosecution.

The letter said Solider N boasted the SAS “was behind Princess Diana’s death”.

The Ministry of Defence, the Royal Military Police and the Service Prosecuting Authority have known of its existence and the claim since it was sent in September 2011.

The seven-page hand-written letter – a copy of which has been seen by the Sunday People – also makes allegations over Soldier N’s behaviour towards his wife and her family following the collapse of the couple’s marriage.

It is understood that the SAS passed the letter to the Service Prosecuting Authority prior to the start of the Sgt Nightingale trial.

All references to the paramilitary force were removed by the SPA before it released the document to the court.

Lots more information on Sergeant Danny Nightingale:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=navclient&hl=en-GB&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGHP_en-GBGB423GB424&q=Sergeant+Danny+Nightingale

Nightingale was only 2 years of age when Diana died, so he can't have anything to do with her death

Oops, he would have been 22 not 2. I am getting my years mixed up

I am finding it interesting that the gun in Nightingale's possession, was a "Glock pistol". In the late 1990s the Glock pisto was modified to "allow the mounting of laser sights, tactical lights, and other accessories.

"A tactical light is a flashlight used in conjunction with a firearm to aid low light target identification, allowing the marksman to simultaneously aim and illuminate the target. Tactical lights can be handheld or mounted to the weapon with the light beam parallel to the bore. Tactical lights also serve a role as a method of non-lethal force, used to temporarily blind and disorient targets"

And this is from the Daily Mail, dated October 2007:

Diana inquest: Witness saw 'major white flash from hitmen' just before crash

I have to agree with you on that point. The Royal Family were terrified that Diana may have married Dodi.  However, Diana had been used and abused by Charles and the Royal Family and she was out to get her revenge on them all.  Whether she would have gone ahead with a marriage to Dodi was another matter, I feel that she was making their life hell just by dating Dodi, she was playing games with them, as her life had been made hell by being married to a man who had no love for her.  By the time she realised that it was too late.  Unfortunately, it all led to her demise.

Diana wanted to marry Charles from an early age. It was quite a problem ti find a suitable bride as the lurid press would be all over previous boyfriends. Charles had to marry a virgin whether he wanted to or not and they were thin on the ground.
The press would have had a field day with exes.

The hypocrisy of the British press still amazes me. Journalists and editors who have had mistresses, see no problem in exposing infidelity anywhere else.
Diana was in fact he first to break her marriage vows, the first to drag the affair into the press. The one who allowed Morton to write a book and so on.
She was a thoroughly narcissistic young woman.
She was not  interested in Dodi, he was dragged away from his fiancée in the US where he was trying to be a film director. He was snorting cocaine and only did what Daddy told him to do - Diana and Rosa Monckton, one offer closest friends made fun of them and their vulgar tastes.

There was no chance she 'd have married Dodi. The Pakistani surgeon (she tried to make him jealous) very sensibly rejected her.
Diana was an unstable and self-obsessed young woman, complaining about the press and yet phoning them in the middle of he night to give them a photo opportunity - Diana the caring princess at the bedside of yet another dying aids patient.

If the prurient press had allowed Charles to marry  one of his girlfriends, Diana would probably have married someone else and found the same faults in him. Narcissists have to be the centre of attention.

Sorry to disagree on all points, as Hobs pointed out she wasn't wearing a seat belt. Happens all the time.
