Re: Stuart Lubbock book
then they should probably be burned at the stake, or at the very least locked in a cupboard with a copy of "60 Reasons Not to be an Active Homosexual Volume I" until they repent.

Barrymore's acitvities
There are two problems about your post.bunny wrote:Tony, could you comment on this quote from the book you wrote"no responsible mother would let an active homosexual into her house"
Is that what you truly believe?
The first is that the quote is inaccurate.
The second is that you need to see the context - an occasion when Barrymore tried to sodomise four youths in one house in one night.
Here's an extract from pages 103 to 105 of my book (Chapter Seven):
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In March 1998, Barrymore was in the news again when 41-year-old mother Sylvia Ford made a complaint about Barrymore having got into her 18-year-old son’s bed. She, her son Simon aged 21 and her nephew Darren had for some reason gone to a homosexual night-club in Leicester, to get a late-night drink. The two boys asked Barrymore for his autograph as they spotted him stood, drunk and unsteady, at the bar, talking to two other young men.
Darren said: “Suddenly, without warning, he ran his hands through my hair and asked if I’d like to join him in his hotel room. I said ‘No’ and walked off with Simon”. But Barrymore followed the two young men, and when the club closed at 2.00am he pleaded with them to take him home with them ‘for a nightcap’. As a friend’s car pulled up to take the three of them home, Barrymore jumped in. Darren said: “We couldn’t very well push him out. I covered my lap with a newspaper as I didn’t want any wandering hands”. Despite that, Barrymore put his hand on Darren’s leg and asked out loud for a kiss. When it was refused, Barrymore got angry and shouted about how much money he had.
Darren continued: “When they got to Sylvia Ford’s home - incredibly, she let them in - Barrymore switched his attention to her son Simon. After knocking back a brandy in one gulp, he told Simon he ‘needed to talk’ and ushered him into his bedroom. There, Barrymore shut the door and started pulling at his clothes and removed his own jacket. Simon managed to usher him out.
Barrymore was not turned out at that stage but told to behave himself. But he now switched his attention once again, this time to Sylvia’s younger son, Emerson, who said: “I’d gone to bed early as I had a college course the next day. I woke up to see Barrymore poke his head round the door. He then lay down next to me. I nearly jumped out of my skin. He stroked my leg through the blanket and mumbled something about everyone being ‘bastards’. I sat up and pulled the quilt around me. I was scared. I had visions of him trying to get into bed with me. Then I realised he was crying like a baby”.
The commotion woke up Sylvia’s 14-year-old daughter, Kelly. At the time, Barrymore had a minder, Chris, with him who had followed Barrymore to Sylvia’s in a taxi. Kelly now overheard Barrymore switch his attention to Chris - the fourth young man he’d made a pass at that night. He told Chris that he’d just finished with a boyfriend called Kevin and now fancied him (Chris).
When Chris resisted his advances, Kelly heard the sound of Barrymore hitting Chris and shouting. At this point, Sylvia finally lost patience and ejected him. Not before time, of course. One must question the thinking processes of a mother who allows active homosexuals into her home, whilst her 14-year-old daughter is present and after they have already been harassing boys supposed to be in her care.
Barrymore’s relationship with his then boyfriend Platts ended shortly afterwards, but not before Barrymore had taken back a £50,000 Porsche he’d bought for him and also served a High Court writ banning Platts from revealing any details about their brief relationship, or giving any details of his business affairs. Platts’ mother had a pithy comment on this short-lived affair. She later said, simply: “Barrymore wrecked Steve’s life”.
Very shortly afterwards, Barrymore was photographed out and about with the new love of his life - Shaun Davis, who was to become a rather more permanent fixture in his life. According to Barrymore, they had met - where else? - in a homosexual night-club, though in her autobiography, Cheryl claimed that Barrymore met Davis at Walthamstow greyhound stadium, where he was apparently working at the time. Later, Davis claimed he was a ‘stockbroker's assistant’ and was referred to as some form of trainee in the health service. He was also said to have been a beautician at some time. Cheryl regarded him as something of a ‘chancer’ who latched on to Barrymore as a meal ticket.
Davis was described by Taylor and Nicholas as none of the above, but instead as ‘a 24-year-old barman plagued with debts, starstruck with Barrymore’. Just, indeed, as Stuart Lubbock was apparently ‘starstruck’ three years later. Davis was said to have had another job at the time, but the details of whatever it was have always been sketchy.
Davis suddenly abandoned his relationship with his then partner, Kenny Hemple, to move in with Michael and become his ‘personal assistant’, which mainly involved organising his cue cards for his live shows. Hemple was distraught and heartbroken, and said: “Barrymore used his fame and wealth to seduce Shaun. He gave him gift after gift - a BMW, Armani suits etc. He stole my lover and I despise him for it”.
In the summer of 1999, Barrymore secretly ‘married’ Davis in Hawaii, and proclaimed: “I’ve never been happier than I am now. And that’s down to Shaun”.
The two exchanged ‘marriage’ vows and silver rings. Asked why he decided to get ‘married’ to Shaun, he told Martin Bashir in his Tonight with Trevor McDonald interview: “The truthful answer is that Shaun wanted to do it and I said ‘Yes’. I hadn’t planned it, hadn’t thought about it’”.
Later in the year he explained that he and Shaun would like to adopt children, and even began visiting adoption agencies. “Just because society isn’t used to the idea of same-sex parenting doesn’t mean a gay couple doesn’t have the same fathering instincts as any other couple. What’s wrong if we’re two blokes? All they need is loving and taking care of”, said Barrymore.
But it was uncertain, even to Barrymore, whether the two of them were ‘married’ or not, for when he tearfully emerged, seemingly triumphantly, from the Celebrity Big Brother studio in January last year, having come second on the reality TV show to unknown ‘Essex girl’ Chantelle, he announced how Shaun had ‘helped me through my trials and tribulations’ and that they were ‘now going to get married’. What, again?
Barrymore was in the headlines again before the end of the year after he entered the hotel room of 6-foot-tall rugby player Phil Stanyon following a drunken pre-Christmas party on 11 December that year at Perthshire’s Gleneagles Hotel. He had got hold of the key after asking Stanyon for his hotel room number, having earlier chased him round the dance floor.
Stanyon was with his partner Sally Clarke for a golfing weekend. They were disturbed by someone unlocking their door, entering their room and then suddenly closing it again. When they went into the corridor to see what was going on, they saw three men chasing Barrymore, who had a key to the room. A hotel porter apologised: “It’s Mr Michael Barrymore, Miss. There has been a bit of a misunderstanding”.
It was of course the end of his relationship with Davis in February 2001 that was to precipitate the utterly reckless lifestyle that Barrymore lived in the weeks leading up to the death of Stuart Lubbock.
And it was to New Zealand with Shaun Davis that Barrymore retreated after the bad publicity he received following Stuart’s death and once again soon after Celebrity Big Brother, having failed to secure the big money TV contracts that he hoped would follow a success on Big Brother.
Barrymore’s astounding energy and capacity for absorbing copious quantities of drink and drugs was the subject of frequent comment. One observer put it like this: “Aside from everything else, I can't understand how he has the energy to carry it all off. He's everywhere. He's in an East End pub. He's out drinking in a gay club. He's falling over at an awards ceremony. He's everywhere. How does he get the chance to live? There must be four Michael Barrymores. That's why it's all gone wrong. Three of them are normal, but one of them has lost it”.
One issue we will look at briefly now is the question of whether or not Barrymore could swim. It became a minor issue at the Coroner’s Inquest into Stuart’s death.
After all, he told the police - a lie, we will be suggesting later - that he was the first to find Stuart’s body, but did not try to pull him out because he could not swim. However, his wife Cheryl, when she heard about Barrymore, at the Inquest, giving this reason for not diving in to rescue Stuart, insisted that her mother had taught her husband to swim. And Ricky Greene, writer, also said that Cheryl Barrymore’s mother had told him how she’d taught Michael Barrymore to swim.
The News of the World ran a piece on 22 September 2002: “Sunk: Shock dossier proves that Barrymore CAN swim”.
A former bodyguard of Barrymore’s for 14 years, 6’ 2” and 18 stone Stephen Gilbey, told the News of the World that:
· Barrymore certainly can swim - well enough, in fact, to have once pulled a drowning man from his pool.
· he went swimming with him on holiday in Costa Rica for 2 weeks in 1996. He wrote: ‘Michael certainly wasn’t afraid of the water. He loved larking about in it. We ran into the sea…then I saw him swim in the pool’.
· he saw him swim, using front crawl, from one side of the pool to another.
· his opinion was that ‘Michael has lied through his teeth [by claiming that he was not able to swim]’
· Barrymore didn’t wear a lifejacket when he went out 12 miles off the Pacific coast, in a yacht, fishing – ‘he sat bare-chested on the edge of the boat in his swimming shorts...the boat was rocking from side to side’.
· Cheryl Barrymore once told him how Michael once swam 100 yards to save his own life. Barrymore had apparently been jet-ski-ing and was knocked over by a big wave. He couldn’t get back to the jet-ski, so he swam to the shore, swimming front crawl all the way.
The News of the World also produced a revealing photograph, taken by Gilbey, showing Barrymore in just his swimming trunks, wearing no lifejacket, speeding along sitting on the side of a yacht. As Gilbey pointed out, that was not the action of man who couldn’t swim; what would have happened if he had accidentally fallen in?
Gilbey said: “I have kept my lips buttoned up to now out of loyalty to Michael, but the Lubbock family deserve justice…”. If only others who are still keeping their lips ‘buttoned up’ would also tell the police what they know about Stuart’s death.
Barrymore could certainly swim, though he may not have been a great swimmer. The story which we will say was cooked up by Barrymore and his associates after Stuart’s death was that he found Stuart in the swimming pool, ‘floating at the bottom’, as he says. In order to sustain this lie, we say, he had then to explain why he didn’t immediately dive in and rescue him.
Many others have questioned why Barrymore, in the months before Stuart Lubbock’s death, had decided to build himself a swimming pool, when he couldn’t even swim. ‘Oh what a tangled web we weave - when first we set out to deceive’.

Dr Gerald McCann smirks and laughs as he says: 'Ask the dogs, Sandra'.
I understand. But the 'notoriously unreliable' bit is correct, more or less, here's the full context of that awful quote, Dr McCann's little smirks and laughs included. Apparently, hedge, he found it funny. Funny, that:hedge wrote:Tony Bennett wrote:I see, you're not one for a bit of satire then.hedge wrote:Better than making a quote up entirely.

Interview with the McCanns by Sandra Felgueira, on Portuguese TV, 5th November 2009
Sandra: This is the first time that you give us a big interview, no longer being arguidos. So now I feel free to ask you this directly. How can you explain the coincidence of the scent of cadaver found by British and not Portuguese dogs?
Kate: Sandra, maybe you should ask the judiciary. They have examined all evidence. We are also Madeleine's Mum and Dad. We are desperate for people to help us find Madeleine which is why we are here today. I believe the majority of people in Portugal are inherently good people and I am asking them if they will help us spread this message to that person or people.
Sandra: So you don't have an explanation for that?
Gerry: Ask the dogs, Sandra (Gerry smirks).
Sandra: Ask the dogs? No Gerry. Now I feel free to ask you, don't you feel free to answer me?
Gerry: I can tell you that we have also looked at evidence about cadaver dogs (Gerry laughs) and they are incredibly unreliable.

The author doesn't get to decide what the reader chooses to take from the book. I never even saw the rest of the sentence, because I was, and still am dumbstruck with the judgemental way that you use words against people who you dislike.
I don't make up songs about missing children.
I don't make up and attribute quotes to the parents of missing children in order to further my agenda.
And I don't publish lists of posters who disagree with my viewpoint and suggest that admin ban them.
But if you want to take the moral high ground with me then do.........please be my guest.

A two word overlap between his words and your fictitious 'satirical quote' yet you throw a hissy fit because someone has the temerity to quote you precisely, if snipped for emphasis.

Scripture lesson
Just what the devil did. Quoted the Scriptures precisely, to the letter.hedge wrote:A two word overlap between his words and your fictitious 'satirical quote' yet you throw a hissy fit because someone has the temerity to quote you precisely, if snipped for emphasis.
But completely out of context - Matthew 4 vv 1-11 :
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
