Brief news snippet just in from Spain:

"Latest news about Metodo 3:  The president of the Catalan PP (Partido Popular Party) Alicia Sánchez Camacho this Thursday celebrated  Metodo 3 detective agency's admission of guilt for making a recording and publishing it in return for money, with the aim of causing political damage to her. They have apparently paid her compensation".

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

HISTORICAL NOTE:

This article appeared in El Pais, 19 February 2013

“Police officers on Tuesday searched the Barcelona and Madrid offices of Método 3, the now-defunct private detective firm at the centre of a political spying scandal in Catalonia. Investigators, including two anti-corruption prosecutors, were seen bringing out boxes of confiscated documents from the buildings.

The agency's owner, Francisco Marco, and three other detectives at the agency were arrested on Monday. The entire case has rocked Spain's political foundations after recordings surfaced of a 2010 lunch conversation between the head of the Popular Party in Catalonia, Alicia Sánchez-Camacho, and the former girlfriend of one of the sons of the region's ex-premier.

The ex-girlfriend, Victoria Álvarez, informed Sánchez-Camacho about Jordi Pujol Ferrusola's alleged money laundering activities in Andorra. Pujol Ferrusola is a son of former regional premier Jordi Pujol Soley, who served from 1980 to 2003.

Two of the suspects, Julián Peribañez* and Alex Borrequero, who are still in custody, told investigators that they recorded the conversation ‘on the boss's orders’ [i.e. Francisco Marco] at the La Camarga restaurant in Barcelona. The ruling Catalan nationalist CiU bloc has organised a special squad of investigators and court personnel to help those politicians or other citizens who feel that they may have been spied on”.

* ADDITIONAL NOTE:  Julián Peribañez from Metodo 3 and Gary Hagland from Kennedy's private investigation HQ in Knutsford interviewed Jayne Jensen and Annie Wiltshire in November 2007, which led to them being interviewed for 11 hours by Kent Police and then a great deal of publicity in December 2007 about their twin claims that they saw two blond men hovering around a ground floor apartment and also, on 3 May 2007, in the evening, said they saw Robert Murat hanging around the Ocean Club.

Julián Peribañez is now the THIRD McCann Team investigator to have been sent to jail since they worked for the McCanns - the others being Antonio Jiminez Raso (in prison 2008-2012) and Kevin Halligen (2009 to present)

They were photographed and the photo handed to a press agency, who released it on 8 May, as the search for Madeleine continued. The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

It is so very hard to digest that what happened to Madeleine McCann is surrounded by so many bad people.People invited, recommended and employed to search for her within no time at all after her disappearance. A little 3 year old girl and a bunch of crooks - and I'm not just referring to Halligen and Metodo 3. The whole TM should hang their bloody heads in shame.

"They have apparently paid her compensation".

Now where did they get the money for that?
Madeleine 'fund'?
One way of laundering the donations, i suppose.

"were seen bringing out boxes of confiscated documents from the buildings."

And that brings all sorts of questions, dosen't it?
Even Metoado are not dumb enough to not keep certain items in reserve, just in case.

Excellent post Aquila.

If Madeleine had been abducted she would never of been found if this bunch of crooks had really been looking for her. The McCanns must of been aware that these PIs paid for by the public were doing nothing. So much for the claims by the McCanns that they were searching for Madeleine, more lies, and I wonder if  CM was aware these "big boys" were crooks.

How about the Nritish tabloids doing the decent thing and print this on their front pages so the public how the McCanns spent The article printed by the Express on May 6 2007 says that Madeleine was being held in a lair close to PDL. After reading this made me question what was Dave Edgar investigating - Madeleines disappearance or historic newspaper articles about her disappearancethe money donated by so many people who probably had a lot less money than the McCanns and weren't living in a £600,000

My God, poor Madeleine. I've never seen such a load of dodgy people and crooks in all my life supposedly looking for an "abducted" child. As I said previously, the McCanns tentacles reach far and wide, where the hell does it all end???

As aquila said, they should all be bloody ashamed of themselves, not just people like Halligen but all the McCann sucker uppers and backers. I can't believe for one moment that they were completely fooled by all the idiots taken on to search for Madeleine, who had no experience in looking for missing children. As PeterMac said "follow the money"!

Excellent post aquila.

The British tabloids should have the information about Metodo 3 and Halligen on their front pages to show the public how the McCanns spent the donated money, given by people who had a lot less than them. How many who donated could afford to
live in a £600,000 house? I wonder if CM knew that Metodo 3 were in fact the big boys of corruption.

Ignore my previous post above, using my iPhone, it's late and that post went all wrong, not as easy to rectify on an iPhone. Deleted it but obviously didn't work, or maybe it was me.

Could they have been hired/used by you know who to spy on the PJ?

The Yard Detectives unannounced raiding of their office is not without purpose one would think!

Spring a surprise visit only to get their hands on files pertaining to the search..err...I dont think so! Because they could have formally requested M3 and Mccanns (for that matter) for those.

It must be something else MET were after which they knew would not otherwise be handed over using normal procedures.

(24 Jun) NEWS JUST IN: 'Metodo 3 admits guilt in spying case and pays compensation to Alicia Sánchez Camacho' Empty A longer article about Metodo 3

Post by Tony Bennett 24.06.13 6:20

This longer, translated article about Metodo 3, by C. Morcillo/P. Muñoz, appeared in ABC the day following the El Pais article (i.e. 20 February 2013): This bit was just so typical - all private investigators in Spain are required to keep a log book documenting their private investigations - guess what happened when the authorities came looking for Metodo 3's log book? -

"The agency log book - mandatory where clients and those who are investigated are recorded, as well as the dates of the jobs carried out - disappeared, because it was ‘lost in a flood’"

+++++++++++++++++++++++

‘Método 3 grew with high-profile media cases; their enemies label it as ‘scam agency’ - and now it's going to be a consultancy agency’
Each time a new chief of police arrived to Catalonia, one of the first invitations he would receive was that of Francisco Marco: a letter to invite him to have dinner at the restaurant “La Camarga”, which has been the hub of operations [spy activities] of the detective agency Método 3, near to its headquarters. The current police chief, Eugenio Castro, politely declined the invitation, however his predecessor and some of the previous ones shared table and cloth with the influential Marco, with a degree in Law and an expert in self-promotion. One of his mottoes is “Let them speak about us, whether good or bad”, says one of his former colleagues.

Marco took to practice that popularity and in recent years his agency was a reference in the media, particularly after the parents of the British girl Madeleine McCann who disappeared in Portugal hired them to search her. Their hypothesis was that a paedophile ring had kidnapped her and in pursuit of that idea, according to the same sources, they charged about 70,000 euros [close to that amount] per month, with continuous trips to Portugal, Morocco and Britain.
Ghost expenses

“It was a scam. They said they had fifteen people working on the case but, no, there were just three. [Note: two of them were Antonio Jimenez Raso and Julián Peribañez. They made up invoices for hotel expenses and allowances for four people in the neighbouring country [Portugal] and only one person travelled there, who in addition didn’t speak a word of Portuguese.

“Along with Madeleine's case - of which nothing was ever found - the fame reached Método 3 with the advent of the former secret service spy Francisco Paesa [ see Guardian article here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/nov/29/spanish-superspy-franciso-paesa ], who was ‘found’ in Paris, after being presumed dead [he had published his own obituary].

“Monitoring the vice-presidents of FC Barcelona and the involvement, which has yet to be clarified, of espionage of the current president of the Community of Madrid, Ignacio Gonzalez, are also included in the curriculum of this agency in which ‘thousands and thousands of euro have come in and no one know where they are’, says a detective who knows Método 3 track record.
Severance pay

“The agency was created by Marita Frnandez, the mother of Francisco Marco, in 1985. She had worked has a saleswoman for an Argentinian detective when she married her husband, a criminal lawyer. Since then they have lived years of success and constant commissions - although nothing to do with the 20,000 reports that were said to be destroyed by the Director of Método 3 - to the point of giving work to other agencies and individuals (they subcontracted) and then signed themselves those jobs. Their wide list of staff included an accountant, and in recent years, a former policeman heading the IT department.
“Juan Carlos Ruiloba was the chief of the Technological Crime Prevention unit at the Judiciary Police of Barcelona. Shifting to a second activity, he began working for Marco where he claimed he was very well paid. A little over a year ago, when the agency started to be less the buoyant business that it had been, Ruiloba left Método 3. According to sources related to the investigation, part of the money that he was owed was recovered with electronic equipment. Last week this former police officer turned to his former colleagues at the Judiciary and handed material, supposedly ‘sensitive’. He had waited over a year to do so.

Out of hand investigations
“He was not the only police officer connected to Método 3 Director. In fact, during many years it was a common practice to resort to certain professionals, such as the Forensic Science Police [Lab], in order to do specific tests, particularly when they did not have any other means at their disposal.

“The agency no longer exists officially since last November, in fact its Director has several pending labour disputes with former employees. However Marco, with a curriculum and voluminous list of customers, was already converting their business into a security consulting firm, outside of the police control to which detective agencies are subject.

“Método 3 has also been inspected - inspection in the offices of detectives are annual - however he has eluded comfortably both administrative and criminal penalties. In 1995 his father, his mother, him and a brother were arrested for illegally wiretapping businessmen. In that case it was revealed that they had investigated the governor of the Bank of Spain, Mariano Rubio, and his wife Carmen Posadas. The investigation was filed.
“In 2011, during a routine inspection, the Police detected serious irregularities, despite the proposed sanction, which arrived to Rubalcaba's Home Office - his brother has an excellent relationship with Marita Fernández - it was also unsuccessful.

“In May last year the agency number two, Elisenda Villena, was arrested during the ‘Pitiusa Operation’* - in which hundreds of detectives and intermediaries were charged. The agency log book - mandatory where clients and those who are investigated are recorded, as well as the dates of the jobs carried out - disappeared, because it was ‘lost in a flood’. Método 3, again, was not penalised.

Poor little Maddie didn't ever stand a chance of being found by this pathetic bunch.

Mr. & Mrs. seem to be very forgiving of crims, but not of pensioners and cops who seek the truth about what happened to their darling little girl called Maddie.

Poor little Madeleine, to be hooked up, in her innocent absence, to such a vile pit of writhing snakes and vipers.
I think we all suspected, right from the onset, that this case was not as it seemed.
We have stuck at it and, seeing what is unraveling even now, will do so to the bitter end, until innocence is returned to this little girl.sad

The timing of everything is very interesting, SY are obviously aware of this trial.

The McCanns chose to employ dodgy detective agencies, they had plenty of in the know people to get advice from to get the agency they required if they had wanted a genuine det agency.

IMO there is going to be a lot happening July & August

Método 3 camuflaba los informes de los encargos del Barça

http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20130623/fc-barcelona/metodo-3-informes-barca_54376902825.html

A Google translation:

MundoDeportivo.com 23/06/2013 12:13

Method 3 camouflaged commissions reports of Barca
Traces of accounting between FC Barcelona and Method 3, a relationship that still promises many new features during the development process from the complaint filed by the club against several former managers, yet leave a balance of more than 800,000 euros spent on several of the detectives activities between 2008 and 2010.

Among the material seized in the search of the offices of Method 3 in the month of February, when it exploded for the plot of espionage at the highest levels of power in Catalonia, found a list of work billed at the club with his date, concept, report number, invoice number and amount that correspond to the numbers of records found and in many cases with the bill.

Seems to be a statement Barça customer control which does not always coincide with the concept assigned the originator of the request, presumably to avoid drawing attention to the real nature of the orders.

Political fiction

For example, on December 23, 2009, attributed to the file record an expenditure of 6,032.00 20408 euros for a 'Risk Report player'. In reality, however, is the extensive research by the company Method 3 on Reagrupament strong men, especially Joan Carretero and hollow of Joan Laporta in politics once left office as president of FC Barcelona . The bill includes a concept that is neither the listing nor the actual content of the work: Marketing and Merchandising Department-Counterfeiting.

You may see more documentation.

19178 and 19818 records, anterior and posterior, of that agree on the invoice date, number, amount and concept, but some of the charges by inquiring about Oriol Giralt, promoter-confidence vote.

It has also been localized to the report from the club claimed for income level and origin of the current president Sandro Rosell, then walking partner. The record 19279, under the concept 'Player Tracking' totaling EUR 38,575.03 was paid for through their settlements to finance, sales and business expenses in 2008.
Below in this list, the record 19291, which relates an expenditure of 54198.68 with 'Forgery Merchandising' cover the enormous cost of the international report on the business and activities of Ferran Soriano.

Also hidden under the heading 'Countersurveillance President Several Days', dated April 28, 2008 and 19148 records, the attempt to establish a link between the magistrate Antonio Nuño de la Rosa, the trial judge the case of guarantees, and Núñez i Navarro estate.

Opacity controlled

Further evidence of the opacity of this list are the references 20413 and 20424, the first is the report on the former employee of the club and former lover of Joan Laporta Flavia Massoli-accounting 'jugador'-risk report and the mysterious female X followed until custom Andorra Barca and camouflaged as a report by Gerard Pique.

Therefore it is not possible to determine accurately the precise spending detectives follow Gerard Pique, while it may also be assessed in many thousands of euros in view of the rates of Method 3 and deployment of detectives on his trail, finally to conclude that wearing a very normal life.

Method 3 has used these years to bill the club several companies, Method 3 Consulting, Tecnologic Gnomon Free SL and System. There are records and invoices that have not yet appeared, and other reports that are known to exist for the detail of these accounts in which there are gaps. The sum of the three companies rises above 800,000 euros but could be higher

Maybe we should look deeper into the one who hired them in the first place. How do such "respectable" people come into contact with these criminals?

This is important for those trying to piece together the many strands of the case.
Very useful news - thank you - I will share with other Madeleine supporters!

Hi aiyoyo, l never read taking Metodo 3's documents was unnanounced?  Really?!

No one knows for sure. But if they were notified ahead of time, how did MET manage to walk away with boxes and boxes (30 boxes allegedly) of files? You would think they'd have gotten rid of the evidence before the visit, unless they were ambushed.

Maddie never stood a chance, did she? Having being made to disappear, her memory is constantly being smeared by being linked to one vile paedophile to the other and to one crooked PI to the other. This is without even mentioning page 129 of that infamous book. Where is the justice for this child?

PS: Let's not forget Halligen's one-time sidekick, a member of his "big boys" investigation team Henri Exton who had a police record after he'd accepted a caution for nicking stuff from a duty free shop.

They sure know how to pick 'em. Meanwhile, they spare no expenses in hiring the very best lawyers.

Maddie will get her justice. Of that, I am certain.
