Shocking pics and a witness reportedly said it was clear Nigella was frightened.

???? Why here?

Post by tigger on 17.06.13 7:52

Sorry, but why is this in McCann latest news? - I don't mean this to sound unpleasant/bossy but it should be in the members' lounge as it isn't even a news item of any relevance or interest imo.

Before we know it we're an extension of the tabloids. On another site such world-shaking events as Justin Bieber being late for a concert pushed anything McCann related off the portal. I wouldn't like to think we're going that way.

It was in the McCann section when I answered. It's possible to delete a post and move it to another forum.

Shocking pics and a witness reportedly said it was clear Nigella was frightened.

The pictures are shocking but I find it more shocking that not one single person tried to help her.

Perhaps they were all too busy taking photos.

Thanks for moving Candyfloss.   Have given myself a slap on wrist for posting in wrong section.big grin

I am shocked that nobody sought to help her as well.  Let's hope the police give him a stiff warning even though I doubt a prosecution will follow.

I may be well off the mark here! but the series of photos of the event put it in a different light to the one photo shown on the front of the tabloids. In the series he has his hand on various parts of neck, starting on shoulder and then seemingly looking up her nose. I am not sure this is actually what it looks like.

The pic that makes me think the pics are what they look like,  is the one with his hand around her throat and the other looks like a fist on the table.

No doubt a police visit will ensure that there are no further public arguments ending in tears.

One Sunday paper reported she had left home with a suitcase, but I can't find it now.

Disgusting that nobody said anything even though witnesses said it was shocking and she looked scared, and nobody rang Police.

Her husband said it was just a silly tiff. If he can do that in public it makes you wonder what goes on behind closed doors.

Exactly, he obviously doesn't care about being abusive to women, and the pictures clearly show her looking distressed, if he thinks being  abusive like this can be dismissed as a silly tiff, then what on earth does he do when he has what he would describe as a serious disagreement.

IMO if he's that trait within him it wont be the first time he abused her.

Except this time she's so publicly humiliated.
She might be forgiving of him in the past, but this public humiliation for the whole world to see is damaging for her children too.
Imagine their friends all knowing about it and talking behind their back.
NL will have no choice but be forced to do something about it, if only to protect her children.

Reportedly they both left their home in separate taxi, him alone, while she accompanied by her 17-year son from previous marriage.

I am surprised she did not scream after, instead she was reported as having kissed him on the cheek after the incident -really bizzare.
Had she screamed I am sure someone will intervene or call the police.

Either she is very docile or there is something she's hiding.

It may be she was trying to calm him down, some women will do that if the guy loses control, try and calm him down, especially as must have been aware people looking at what was going on.

The text seems to have been changed . . .
Yesterday morning the couple both remained tight-lipped as they left their multi-million pound London home, pictured, separately,
Nigella Lawson looked stressed as she climbed into a waiting taxi with her teenage son Bruno.
Yesterday, the pair declined to comment after they left their converted brewery home separately by taxis.
Suitcase has been whooshed !

Perhaps it's gone to keep a certain blue sports bag company.

I am pleased to hear he has been cautioned over this.

Goes to show that abuse can happen in any household - rich, middle class, poor.  Only difference is the rich can threaten to sue if anybody dares hint at suspected abuse of any kind.

Good post Aiyoyo, her children from her previous marriage must/should be the priority imo.   Imagine having to see pictures like that in the papers and on the internet of your mum being treated like that.

Bullying and assault against anybody must be seen to be dealt with pronto and the police have acted quickly here.   Let's hope it sends out a warning to all who think they can get away with this kind of behaviour.

And on Sky this morning - that she has left the home.

If only every woman who was victim of abuse would do so !

It would appear she did not have the courage to do so earlier.

Her hands were forced this time because this public humiliation is damaging not only to her set of  children from her ex, but for his children from his ex as well.
Just imagine the hot topic-of-the day for those in their social circle will be about her public humiliation and his violent trait that was either hidden from social circles view before.  It's not about their social position or wealth.  Physical violence is wrong and should not be condoned no matter the social standing of the perp.  The law must be applied blanketly across the board and not selectively irrespective.

Heard he's in the art collections business, wonder how this will affect his business.  In the end he's doing himself more damage than he realised.
It's been said that depressed people gorged themselves with food.  Not saying this applies in her case but there may be a co-relation.  Not saying, just saying.

I feel sorry for their chlldren having the family dirty linen aired this way so humiliatingly.

I think he is the one who "collects" Emin's rubbish.

Nigella has done the right thing but sadly not every woman (or man - they get abused too) has somewhere to go, especially when there are children involved.

I beg to differ. Family, friends, Neighbours, Police stations, Women's refuge hostels, Salvation Army, there is a long list of short term solutions, followed by a lot of Social Service help for longer term ones.
