No.10 rocked by secret love affair:

No 10 rocked by secret love affair: 'Stunned' PM holds crisis talks over fears tryst will 'blow political agenda out of the water'

  • Identities of people involved or details of relationship cannot be disclosed

  • They are middle-aged figures and the affair has now concluded

  • Mr Cameron was ‘stunned’ when told the identities of alleged lovers

  • He ‘immediately realised the importance of the story’, sources revealed

  • 'None of us could believe it when we first heard it' said senior

  • When aides told Mr Cameron the identities of the alleged lovers he was 'stunned', and, according to sources, 'immediately realised the importance of the story'. For legal reasons, the identities of the people involved or any details of the relationship - even its duration - cannot be

Lots of names flying about, is DC back form holiday yet?

Injunction time again by the sounds of it.

Someone will name them on the internet so why waste their money, if they have taken out an injunction.

Cameron has realised the importance of the affair as it will"blow the political agenda out of the water".

So is it a Tory and Senior Labour tryst?

Like the Prosection and Defence having Santorini discussions

Why does it matter ? There are married couple in the house already. There are people boinking, and spreading their genes fairly widely.
There are couples with divergent political views, Speaker and Mrs S for example.
Why make an issue of it.
But now it is too late. They have made an issue of it by trying to keep it secret.
I guess we shall know by mid-day.

    Santorini discussions

Happily married with family probably (at least that's the public face of it). Hypocrites.

Like Huhne spouting off during the elections how marvellous marriage is blah blah then leaving his wife and kids high and dry. They wonder why the public don't trust them. Their own families can't.

Possibly closer to DC, I did wonder last week why Andy Coulson had raised his head giving DC advice in a Mail artical, I've just re read story, and it makes me think that there is possibly an injunction in place maybe to do with a name on the page, otherwise why would the Mail not accept comments for legal reasons?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2333245/Andy-Coulson-No-10-spin-doctor-tells-PM-Your-wife-best-weapon-youve-got-win-general-election.html

Those two names had occured to me pennylane amongest others

I also wondered why Coulson was suddenly giving advice last week.

If he thinks Sam Cam will win the election I think he is wrong. They rolled out Sarah Brown, nothing can save a Prime Minister if he is seen as weak and ineffective and that is how many, many people see Cameron. All talk, no action imo.

As for bringing Fox back into the swing of things. He's having a laugh aint he.

Does he really think the gen. public have any faith in Fox. Rather like Labour bringing Mandelson back in and look what happened there.

Get some new ideas, get the economy growing and listen to the gen. public. When a Prime Minister learns to do those things then he will be re-elected, unti then I believe there will be a hung parliament next time.

How much did Coulson get paid for the article? They was robbed imo whatever the sum was.

Whoever the couple are, they're consenting adults.

    This is news because...........?

Oh well, it takes the attention away from those whose activities are illegal.

Dunno NFWTD, just thinking aloud here.
There might be a connection with the McCanns (Kevin wake up!)
Their protection came from both parties over the years.

    Just thinking...

    snipped

David Cameron has held crisis talks at Downing Street after being told of allegations of a sensational love affair which has potentially significant political implications for him.

Does make you think who is no longer in Cabinet? Why would someone else's love affair have significant political implications for him?

Process of elimination, if his face was reversed would he fit the profile?

    Spivey- Cameron and Brooks article.

He has an article on his site under Who's zooming who if any body wants a read.

Does make you wonder why those 150 emails between Cameron and Brooks were with-held from Leveson.

In the article it says "Like Mr Major, Mr Cameron is increasingly finding his time in Downing Street is beset by sex scandals."...underneath is this photo....Is the DM giving us a clue? they did not mention the Ibiza holiday on the article except for the photo with its caption

Surprised: When aides told Mr Cameron the identities of the alleged lovers he was said to be 'stunned'. He is pictured with his wife Samantha during their holiday in Ibiza last week

Daily Mail subtext: “We can’t tell you anything about this for ‘legal reasons’ but using terms like ‘rocked’, ‘dynamite’, ‘stunned’ we hope to impress upon you that this is big, I mean really big, and shocking, very shocking. Big and shocking. We can’t tell you who the two middle-aged ‘figures’ are but we can tell you this; when we heard about it we were all laughing our heads off.
    PS, neither are cabinet ministers”

What would really surprise anyone these days, tho'?
As someone said, all consenting adults, so however sad for the families, so far, so same-old.
Surely only a cross-party/same sex - say Boris Johnson and Ed Milliband?
Or Royal scandal, except none of them are middle aged, all are either old or young.
Or for us on here, our own TB and Donatie (but for most of the world that would be no recognition)
(Sorry TB, did not intend to make you chuck your breakfast...)
Even so, after a regular diet of soap-operas where everyone and anyone gets together, sleb twaddle and scandals hard to see what could surprise the Brit public and derail the political agenda. More likely that the very fact of the superinjuction means that when the names come out, which they inevitably will, and probably before nightfall today, it will mean that press-regulation/privacy laws will have to be off the agenda, as people will be saying 'This is why you want to gag the press!' And this is obviously is why DM have run the story, and why others will pick it up.
