I'm not absolutely sure but at the time Clarrie was using the ludicrous word as every other word in response to questions as their spokesman.
I do believe he was in the room with Ma Healy, LURKING just off camera. (as always!)

Having Ma Healy as a mother-in-law almost makes me feel sorry for Gerry - almost, but not quite!

I guess that for the same reason (deserving eachother, having the same personality) grammy's stay in Portugal was short.

I suspect no one can ever get on the right side with her.
It would appear there is no love lost between her and her daughter and son in law as they never ever appear together for the campaign and it's easy her gauge her relationship isnt brilliant because its never reported that she helps kate or babysit her grandchildren. It's always Mother Hubbard (Priest's wife) who's there for Kate.
Maybe a dysfunctional family in a middle class way.

"Support" means continue to send them MONEY. Just put it in envelopes, marked Rothley, and it will get there by speed post.

Asking people to look is useless as that wont beget them $$$. They need plenty of that for the lawyers since they wont spent a penny of their own money.

Asking people to look hasn't brought them any nearer to finding Maddie even their own private detectives have not been able to do that .

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1907317/Kate-McCanns-mother-wanted-to-shake-her-for-leaving-Madeleine.html

"Susan Healy, who travelled to Portugal as soon as she heard about her
grandaughter’s disappearance, said the first question she asked the couple
was “where were you?”.

“Why did they think - all of them - it was OK to do this? I think they were
beguiled into thinking it was OK - but there was no CCTV, no security.

“There is this acceptance among couples with young children, like Kate and
Gerry and their friends, that these are good resorts and safe environments.
“I could shake all of them, every single one of them.”Mrs Healy, from
Allerton in Liverpool, said the McCanns have had to live with the fact that
they left Madeleine in an unlocked apartment while they went for dinner.

“If that charge was put to them, it would be defended robustly. The legal
advice
that they have received is that what they did that night with regular
checks on the children was part of reasonable parenting.
LEGAL? interesting...

Mrs Healy recalled the moment she heard that Madeleine was gone – in a late
night telephone call from Mr McCann."It was about 11.30ish when Gerry rang," she told the Liverpool Echo.“I picked up the phone, but the last thing I expected was that it was going to
be Gerry on the other end.He said something like 'It's a disaster'. I was grappling to understand
'disaster'."His next words were 'Madeleine has been abducted from her bed in the
apartment'. I said 'No, Gerry'. I asked him 'Where were you?'" Now that's something I bet he was not expecting to hear...

"I don't know who I hugged first, but I'll never forget how Kate and Gerry
were that day - they were absolutely wailing."

But Mrs Healy said her real anger came when the McCanns were made suspects –
or arguidos – in Madeleine’s disappearance."They had told the police they were going to come home. I think that moved
things on for the police and they told Kate and Gerry they wanted to
question them again."Gerry did ring to warn us that they were likely to be made arguidos, I think
it was a few days before. I nearly had a dicky fit. I was amazed and angry.
Very angry."
They had told the police that? And why didn't she expected Kate to call but Gerry?

So, when, on being named a suspect, Kate vehemently reacted with: "What are my parents going to say?!", or "what will my parents think?!" she was actually windowdressing, protesting for protests sake: they had warned their parents themselves, days in advance.

Another 'anomaly', for lack of a better word.

According to the book they were told the day before by their lawyer, and stayed with him till 4am, going to bed at 5am and up again at 7am p. 243 ff.
But is is a very truthful book, so her mother must be lying !
Makes a change, I suppose.

IIRC when Maddie first disappeared aunty Phil said in an interview that family homes would be sold to enable the search for Maddie if need be.

I wonder if any homes have been sold. If the fund is running low it is always an option.

The McCanns were also quoted as saying they would sell Rothley Towers if that's what it took to get Madeleine back.

Being reminded again of the initial conversation between Ma Heeley and GM makes me think that she had knowledge of a prior arrangement that went wrong.

"It's a disaster" is the key remark for me. A disaster can only occur to a pre planned event.

Maybe they'd arranged for Madeleine to go and live elsewhere, but events and tragedy overtook them. ("We knew something was going to happen,....) (Is it true you considered a family member adopting Madeleine?)

I've long thought the "They've taken her" was genuine, perhaps KM thought they still had! Maybe she was informed of the truth later, friends removing, hence the restraining bruises?

The "I'm not here to enjoy myself." Was Madeleine destined to leave them that week?

I have no idea why Amaral blamed KM and guess I'll never know, but I bet she is protecting him, not him her.

I see the forum of which some here are so fond, has members storing child pornography in case the backlash against April Jones prevents it.

I am totally sickened by that and cannot understand why anyone would associate themselves there. I wonder who is among us?
